The Memorial Museum of the writer Andrejs Upīts (1877–1970) was established in 1972. It is located in the writer's former apartment in Riga at 38 Brīvības Street, Flat 4 and has been open to the public since 4 December 1974. At the same time, the house-museum of the writer was created also in his native village Skrīveri.Together with his family, Andrejs Upīts moved into this apartment in January 1951 and lived there for the last nineteen years of his life. The building was built in 1911 according to design by architect Ernsts Pole, and was intended to house a bank and several apartments on the top floors. The museum has three memorial rooms open to its visitors: the study, the guest room, the dining room and the open guest room/exhibition hall where exhibitions and events take place. All the furnishing, household items, photographs and, in particular, the library containing more than seven thousand books reflect the personality and working style of Andrejs Upīts. Total museum resources contains 30,000 units.

The Palace of Justice (Latvian: Latvijas Tiesu pils) is a set of courthouses and administrative buildings in Riga. It is the location of sittings of the Supreme Court of Latvia, of the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia and the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice.

The Museum “Jews in Latvia” (Latvian: Muzejs „Ebreji Latvijā”) is located in Riga, Latvia. The main tasks of the museum are the research and popularisation of History of the Jews in Latvia, as well as the collection and preservation of evidence regarding the community of Latvian Jews from its beginning until the present time. The museum was founded in 1989. It is part of the Latvian Jewish community and one of the few private museums in Latvia accredited by the state.The current director since 2008 is Latvian historian Iļja Ļenskis.

RTU Riga Business School (Latvian: RTU Rīgas Biznesa Skola; abbreviated as RBS) is a management education institution within Riga Technical University (RTU). It was established in 1991 in cooperation with Riga Technical University, the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo) in the United States, and the University of Ottawa in Canada. RBS was the first institution in the Baltics to offer MBA programs in English. Since 2012, Riga Business School has been offering a Bachelor of Management in International Business in collaboration with the BI Norwegian Business School. The school has more than 970 MBA graduates employed in managerial positions in Latvia and abroad. RBS offers an MBA curriculum featuring case studies and group work as well classroom work.

The Nativity of Christ Cathedral (Latvian: Kristus Piedzimšanas pareizticīgo katedrāle, Russian: Христорождественский кафедральный собор), Riga, Latvia was built to a design by Nikolai Chagin and Robert Pflug in a Neo-Byzantine style between 1876 and 1883, with decorations made by the firm of August Volz, during the period when the country was part of the Russian Empire. It is the largest Orthodox cathedral in the Baltic provinces built with the blessing of the Russian Tsar Alexander II on the initiative of local governor-general Pyotr Bagration and bishop Veniamin Karelin. The Nativity of Christ Cathedral is renowned for its icons, some of which were painted by Vasili Vereshchagin. During the First World War German troops occupied Riga and turned its largest Russian Orthodox cathedral into a Lutheran church. In independent Latvia, the Nativity of Christ Cathedral once again became an Orthodox cathedral in 1921. Archbishop Jānis Pommers, a native Latvian, played a key part in the defence of the cathedral, including defence from the Latvian government which was extremely unfriendly to Orthodox Church in the first years of an independent Latvia. In the early 1960s, Soviet authorities closed down the cathedral and converted its building into a planetarium. The cathedral has been restored since Latvia regained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

Vērmane Garden (Latvian: Vērmanes dārzs, German: Wöhrmanns Garten) is the oldest public garden in the city of Riga, Latvia, and currently comprises an area of approximately 5 hectares (12 acres). The current name is a Latvian transliteration of the garden's original German name.

St. Alexander Nevsky Church (Latvian: Svētā Ņevas Aleksandra pareizticīgo baznīca; Russian: Церковь Александра Невского) is an Eastern Orthodox church in Riga, the capital of Latvia. The church is situated at the address 56 Brīvības Street.

Central District (Latvian: Centra rajons) is one of six administrative districts of Riga, the capital of Latvia.

The Kalpaka Boulevard Library (Latvian: Bibliotēka Kalpaka bulvārī) is a branch of the University of Latvia libraries located on its eponymous street in central Riga, Latvia. It is housed in a historic mansion built between 1874–78 to designs of Jānis Frīdrihs Baumanis. It is technically the newest branch library of the University of Latvia, and is used primarily for research by the Center for Humanities and Social Sciences.

Institute "Latgyprogorstoy" (Russian: Институт "Латгипрогорстрой") - was a main institute of designing apartment houses in Latvian SSR. Full name of the institute was Latvian state institute of designing state construction (Russian: Латвийский государственный институт проектирования государственного строительства). Founded in 1951, the institute took part in construction of the most modern Riga, Liepāja and Daugavpils neighbourhoods. Not artistic, with a big number of defects, these houses served the main purpose - to give Latvia a big number of cheap living space. Most of the Latgyprogorstroy's projects were standard and had a number consisting of three figures. Houses built under the projects of the institute has a big safety factor and still are the main living fund of Latvian cities. Beside the projects of apartment houses the institute designed the projects of schools, kindergartens, water pipe and sewerage networks. Latgyprogorstroy also took part in the construction of the city Slavutych - the new living place for the victims of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident.The main office building of the Latgyprogorstoy was located in Riga at Gorky St. 38 (now Kr. Valdemara St.). The institute also had the branches in Liepāja and Daugavpils. The institute ceased its existence in 1990. On the base of the institute was founded public limited company Pilsētprojekts.

The Latvian National Museum of Art (Latvian: Latvijas Nacionālais mākslas muzejs) is the richest collection of national art in Latvia. It houses more than 52,000 works of art reflecting the development of professional art in the Baltic area and in Latvia from the middle of the 18th century until the present time. The museum is located in building in Riga, which is historically significant. The building at 1, Janis Rozentāls sq. was designed by the German architect Wilhelm Neumann and built in 1905 — it is one of the most impressive historical buildings on the boulevard and is situated next to the Academy of Art. It was the first building in the Baltics to be built for the purposes of a museum. Between 2010 and 2015 museum underwent a reconstruction, during which the total size of the building was doubled.

School of Young Geographers (Latvian: Jauno ģeogrāfu skola) is an extracurricular educational body that prepares primary and secondary school students in geography, geology, environmental science and other related disciplines. The school was founded on 23 February 1975 by a group of students of the Faculty of Geography of the University of Latvia led by Egils Birznieks. It has been operating uninterrupted ever since, being one of the oldest extant organisations of extracurricular education in Latvia. It is located primarily in Riga, Latvia with its subsidiaries in Valmiera, Liepāja and Rēzekne. For certain periods its sister schools have been operated in other cities of Latvia: Grobiņa, Jelgava, Ogre, Salaspils, Kuldīga and Druva. Up to 500 school students participate in the monthly events organised by the School in 4 regions of Latvia. in its non-formal education events: quizzes, presentations, research conferences, wilderness expeditions, fieldworks and outdoor games. The School also organises annual national geography olympiads in Latvia and international olympiads in the Baltic Sea region.
