Far Rockaway (sometimes referred to as Far Rockaway—Nameoke Street) is the terminus of the Long Island Rail Road's Far Rockaway Branch in the Far Rockaway neighborhood of Queens in New York City. The station is located at Nameoke Avenue (formerly Nameoke Street) and Redfern Avenue, and is 23.0 miles (37 km) from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan, and mean travel time is 56 minutes, although most off-peak trains terminate at Atlantic Terminal, thus requiring a transfer for service to Penn Station. As the Far Rockaway Branch loops back through Nassau County and is in zone 4, this station is not eligible for the CityTicket program.

The First Presbyterian Church of Far Rockaway, formerly known as the Russell Sage Memorial Church, is a historic Presbyterian church in the Far Rockaway neighborhood of Queens in New York City. It was commissioned by Olivia Slocum Sage as a memorial to her late husband, Russell Sage (1816–1906), as they used to summer in the area. She also commissioned a large, memorial stained glass window of a landscape, designed by Tiffany Studio. Designed by the architect Ralph Adams Cram (1863–1942), the church was built between 1908 and 1910 and is a Neo-Gothic-style building laid out in a traditional cruciform plan. It is constructed of brick with concrete trim and a steeply sloping slate-covered roof. Connected to the church are a parish hall and manse. The surrounding landscape, designed by the Olmsted Brothers, is a contributing element to its designation of historic significance.The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Far Rockaway–Mott Avenue station (announced as Far Rockaway station) is the eastern terminal station of the New York City Subway's IND Rockaway Line. Originally a Long Island Rail Road station, it is currently the easternmost station in the New York City Subway. It is served by the A train at all times. As of 2016, this station is the busiest of all subway stations in the Rockaway peninsula. The original surface station on this site was opened in 1869; the current elevated station began operation as a subway station on January 16, 1958. The station was renovated between 2009 and 2012.

Trinity Chapel, also known as St. John's Church and Beth-El Temple Church of God in Christ, is a historic Episcopal church at 1874 Mott Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York. It was built in 1858 to the design of architect Richard Upjohn (1802–1878). It is a frame Gothic Revival style chapel on a brick foundation and three bays wide by five bays long. It has a steeply pitched roof and sided in wood shingles. Atop the roof is a wooden belfry with steeply pitched pyramidal roof. It was founded as Trinity Chapel as a mission of Trinity Church in Hewlett, New York. Its name was changed to St. John's of Far Rockaway in 1881 when it became an independent parish. St. John's merged with Trinity Church in 1974 and the building was sold the following year to Beth-El Temple Church of God in Christ.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

US Post Office-Far Rockaway is a historic post office building located at Far Rockaway in Queens County, New York, United States. It was built in 1935, and is one of six post offices in New York State designed by architect Eric Kebbon as a consultant to the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a two-story brick building with limestone trim and a low granite base in the Colonial Revival style. Its main facade features a centrally placed polygonal shaped frontispiece with a rounded dome inspired by Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. It also has a grand entrance vestibule.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Far Rockaway–Lockwood's Grove is a former station on the Long Island Rail Road's Cedarhurst Cut-off that was located between Beach 21st Street and Beach 22nd Street in Far Rockaway, Queens. The old stationhouse was located roughly between the present Wavecrest and Mott Avenue stations when the entire line was at grade. On about July 1, 1871, before the extension to Far Rockaway opened, the line was leased to the Long Island Railroad. Far Rockaway–Lockwood's Grove was opened by the New York and Rockaway Railroad on May 14, 1872 with the extension of the Cedarhurst Cut-off. The section of the Cedarhurst Cut-off between Far Rockaway and Lockwood's Grove was later known as "The Grove Track". The station closed in September 1877. Lockwood's Grove's original station building was moved to Syosset station in 1877 after the station was abandoned. The building was renovated in 1944, but was torn down and replaced in 1948.

Inwood is a station on the Long Island Rail Road's Far Rockaway Branch in Inwood, New York. The station is located at Doughty Boulevard and Foote Avenue, and is 22.4 miles (36 km) from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan.

Congregation Kneseth Israel (Hebrew: ק׳׳ק כנסת ישראל), commonly referred to as the White Shul, is a synagogue located in Far Rockaway, Queens. The congregation was established in 1922 as Talmud Torah Kneseth Israel and was nicknamed "The White Shul" after its white marble building. The original building located at Nameoke Street and Dinsmore Avenue was destroyed."

Far Rockaway is a neighborhood on the eastern part of the Rockaway peninsula in the New York City borough of Queens. It is the easternmost section of the Rockaways. The neighborhood extends from Beach 32nd Street east to the Nassau County line. Its southern boundary is the Atlantic Ocean; it is one of the neighborhoods along Rockaway Beach. Far Rockaway is located in Queens Community District 14 and its ZIP Code is 11691. It is patrolled by the New York City Police Department's 101st Precinct.

The Cornell Family Cemetery, now officially designated the Richard Cornell Graveyard, is located on Gateway Boulevard (formerly Greenport Road and Greenwood Avenue). According to NYC Parks Department, the Cornell Burial Ground is on the west side of Caffrey Avenue north of New Haven Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens in New York City. This was one of many cemeteries surveyed by Charles U. Powell, chief engineer for the Topographical Bureau, Borough of Queens. Powell undertook this task for two reasons. First, he was concerned that the cemetery sites would be destroyed before being documented, and second, his own Dutch ancestors were buried in one of them. Both Powell and his crews surveyed this cemetery, along with 21 others, between 1919 and 1932. This private cemetery was found to be one of six cemeteries that have survived in Queens. Research sources discuss how a shopping mall developer rediscovered four headstones.

The 1921 PGA Championship was the fourth PGA Championship, held September 27 to October 1 on Long Island at Inwood Country Club in Inwood, New York. The match play field of 32 consisted of the defending champion and the top qualifiers from the 1921 U.S. Open. The competition was five rounds of 36-hole matches in a single-elimination tournament.Walter Hagen defeated Jim Barnes, 3 & 2, in the final, for the third of his eleven major titles. Barnes won the first two PGA titles in 1916 and 1919. Defending champion Jock Hutchison lost in the second round to Gene Sarazen, 8 & 7. Sarazen won consecutive titles in 1922 and 1923. After not entering in 1922 and losing the final in 1923, Hagen won four consecutive PGA Championships, starting in 1924.

Inwood Country Club is a private Golf, Tennis & Beach Club in Inwood, New York, located adjacent to Jamaica Bay and just southeast of John F. Kennedy International Airport. Originally established as nine-hole course in 1901, it is one of the oldest golf courses on Long Island. The course was expanded to an eighteen-hole layout 116 years ago in 1906. Prior to hosting any major championships, the course was in part redesigned by course architect Herbert Strong. The front nine of the course features an unusual layout: three consecutive par 5s followed by two par 3s in a row. In the early 1920s, Inwood hosted two major championships, won by two of the game's legends. The PGA Championship in 1921 was won by Walter Hagen, the first of his five wins in that major, then a match play competition. Two years later, 21-year-old amateur Bobby Jones won the U.S. Open, the first of his four titles in that championship.Inwood Country Club is the only country club in the metropolitan area to have its own private beach club, which is located a few minutes from its main house in the affluent beach town of Atlantic Beach, NY.
