The Creative School

The Rogers Communications Centre is home to Ryerson University's RTA School of Media, Professional Communications and Journalism programs, as well as the offices for the Faculty of Communication and Design (FCAD). Completed in 1992, it is located at 80 Gould Street in downtown Toronto, Canada. There are 3 High Definition television studios (Studio A, B, and C) and multiple audio recording and video editing suites. The building is home to the Allan Slaight Radio Institute. The RCC is also home to the newsrooms for The Eyeopener and The Ryersonian. In November 2018 a new Creative Research Centre known as The Catalyst at FCAD opened on the 2nd floor of the RCC.The building is not directly sponsored by Rogers Communications, although its naming is the result of a personal C$12.5 million contribution to Ryerson by that company's longtime owner Ted Rogers and his wife Loretta in honour of Ted's father, communications pioneer Edward S. Rogers, Sr.

The Merchandise Building is a loft conversion of a former warehouse located in downtown Toronto on Dalhousie Street, near the campus of Toronto Metropolitan University and the Toronto Eaton Centre. Built in various stages from 1910 to 1949 for the Simpson's department store, and later owned by Sears Canada after Simpson's demise, the Merchandise Building at over 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2) is one of the largest buildings by floor area in downtown Toronto. It is an example of the early 20th-century industrial Chicago School architectural style.

The Garden District is a neighbourhood in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The name was selected by the Toronto East Downtown Residents Association (TEDRA) in recognition of Allan Gardens, an indoor botanical garden located nearby at the intersection of Carlton and Jarvis Streets. The Garden District was officially designated by the Mayor and Toronto City Council in 2001, while TEDRA has since been renamed the Garden District Residents Association. Part of the neighbourhood is within official City of Toronto neighbourhood of Moss Park. As defined by the Association, the neighbourhood is bordered by Carlton Street to the north, Yonge Street to the west, Sherbourne Street to the east and Queen Street to the south. This area includes the southern part of Toronto’s Gay Village and heritage sites such as the Mackenzie House Museum, Gallery Arcturus and the Merchandise Building.

Oakham House is a historic building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The house is located at the southwest corner of Gould and Church streets. It was designed by architect William Thomas as his own residence and office, and completed in 1848. Today, it is owned by Toronto Metropolitan University. The upper level consists of a cafe used by students and faculty, while the lower level is home to a student pub. The building is also used by the university to hold events and receptions. The house has a predominantly Gothic Revival architectural style. Thomas' office was located in a wing on Gould Street; however, it was later replaced by an addition to the residential part of the building. Murals in the front hall depicted rural scenes.

222 Jarvis Street is an office building on Jarvis Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The inverted-pyramid-shaped building contains ten storeys and was completed in 1971.Constructed of pre-cast concrete skinned in dark brown brick veneer, it was designed in the Brutalist style by architect Maxwell Miller as the head office of Sears Canada, a department store chain. It has 58,336 square metres (627,920 sq ft) of gross floor area.

O'Keefe House is the former mansion of businessman Eugene O'Keefe, which served as a residence for Toronto Metropolitan University. It is located at 137 Bond Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The building was a student residence from 1964 to 2018, and had 33 residents on three floors.

The Toronto Normal School was a teachers college in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Opened in 1847, the Normal School was located at Church and Gould streets in central Toronto (after 1852), and was a predecessor to the current Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. The Royal Ontario Museum, the Ontario College of Art & Design and the Ontario Agricultural College all originated at the Normal School's campus and the ?provincial Department of Education was also located there. Officially named St. James Square (and located with the old Toronto St. James Ward), the school became known as "the cradle of Ontario's education system". The school's landmark Gothic-Romanesque building was designed by architects Thomas Ridout and Frederick William Cumberland in 1852. The landmark building was demolished in 1963, but architectural elements of the structure remain on the campus of Toronto Metropolitan University.

Jarvis Street is a north-south thoroughfare in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, passing through some of the oldest developed areas in the city. Its alignment extends from Queens Quay East in the south to Bloor Street in the north. The segment south of Front Street is known as "Lower Jarvis Street" while the segment from Bloor Street to Mount Pleasant Road is known as "Ted Rogers Way". The street is a mix of older buildings dating back to the 1800s, including St. Lawrence Market, and has a large proportion of recent condominium apartment buildings. The street is considered by traffic engineers as an important artery to carry commuter traffic before and after work hours. To this end, a reversible lane was built in the mid-20th century along much of its length to allocate lanes. As well, Mount Pleasant Road was extended south to Jarvis and an intersection to the Gardiner Expressway was constructed. The City of Toronto initiated a redevelopment of the street in the early 2000s that widened sidewalks, added cycling lanes and removed the reversible lane. After less than two years, a subsequent City government removed the cycling lanes to nearby Sherbourne Street and the reversible lane was reinstated.

The South Bond Building, or the former C.E. Goad Offices, is located at 105 Bond Street, Toronto, Ontario. It was built in 1912, and, starting in 1944, housed the Doubleday Canada publishing headquarters and was purchased by Ryerson University in 2006. After undergoing extensive renovations that kept the original facade, Ryerson opened the South Bond Building (building code SBB) in the fall of 2007. In 2009, it was the first university in Ontario to be awarded a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold rating for energy efficiency.The building is currently home to: School of Urban and Regional Planning (SURP) (3rd and 4th floors) Psychology Research & Training Centre (PRTC) (1st and 2nd floors) Ryerson University Shipping and Receiving dock (1st floor)The City of Toronto listed it as a municipal heritage property on July 2, 1974.

The Jarvis Street Baptist Church is a Baptist church located at the intersection of Gerrard Street and Jarvis Street in downtown Toronto. One of the oldest churches in the city, its congregation was founded in 1818, and the present church constructed in 1875.

Kerr Hall is a series of four buildings in a square, surrounding Ryerson Community Park, on the campus of Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. Kerr Hall is on the site of the former Toronto Normal School. All but a portion of the Normal School's front façade was demolished in the late 1950s to enable the construction of: Kerr Hall East: 340 Church Street and 60 Gould Street. Kerr Hall West: 379 Victoria Street. Kerr Hall North: 31 and 43 Gerrard Street East. Kerr Hall South: 40 and 50 Gould Street.The current building was built from the early 1960s to 1969 and designed by architect Burwell R. Coon. Until 1963, Kerr Hall surrounded the site of the Toronto Normal School. The middle of Kerr Hall is the tree-lined Ryerson Community Park, also known as the Quad. Kerr Hall is named for Ryerson's first principal, Howard Hillen Kerr.
