Free Art School

The International School of Helsinki is an independent, co-educational, international school in Helsinki, Finland. It was founded as the British Preparatory School in 1963.ISH is an International Baccalaureate World School, with IB programs offered from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The school was first authorised to offer the IB Diploma program in 1993. Instruction is in English, with the school divided into a Lower School (Kindergarten through Grade 5) and Upper School (Grades 6-12). The school has a full-day program. Its school years run from early August to early June.

Rokkiporkkana (Finnish for "Rock and Roll Carrot") is a bridge in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki, Finland. The bridge is 44 metres long, made of steel and orange in colour. It is meant for bicycle and foot transport. It crosses the Välimerenkatu street and connects the parks Hyväntoivonpuisto and Selkämerenpuisto, enabling pedestrian transport between the residential blocks in Jätkäsaari and the Ruoholahti metro station. The Rööriporkkana over the street Länsisatamankatu was opened for use on 31 October 2023. It is similar to Rokkiporkkana but a little shorter and narrower.

Ruoholahti (Finnish: [ˈruo̯hoˌlɑhti]; Swedish: Gräsviken; both meaning "Grass Bay") is a quarter in Helsinki, part of the Länsisatama neighbourhood and Kampinmalmi district. It is located in the southwestern part of the central city area of Helsinki, close to the Lauttasaari island, and it functions as the principal connection between the Helsinki city centre and the city of Espoo to the west. As of 2005 Ruoholahti is inhabited by approx. 3300 people. The Länsisatama port is also situated in Ruoholahti.

Ruoholahti metro station (Finnish: Ruoholahden metroasema, Swedish: Gräsvikens metrostation - "Grassy Bay") is a station on the Helsinki Metro. There are 72 bicycle and 140 car parking spaces at Ruoholahti. It serves the district of Ruoholahti in central Helsinki. Ruoholahti is served by both lines M1 and M2. It was the western endpoint of the metropolitan line for over 24 years until the 1st phase of the western phase was completed and the undergrounds of Matinkylä started on 18 November 2017. The station was opened on 16 August 1993 and was designed by Jouko Kontio and Seppo Kilpiä. Ruoholahti is located 1.2 kilometers western of Kamppi and eastern of Lauttasaari.

West Harbour (Finnish: Länsisatama, Swedish: Västra hamnen) is a passenger and cargo harbour in the Jätkäsaari district of Helsinki, Finland, in the southwestern part of the Helsinginniemi peninsula. The Länsisatama harbour area also includes the Munkkisaaren laituri pier on the west side of Munkkisaari, used by cruiseliners. The harbour is operated by the Port of Helsinki. It has two passenger terminals: West Terminal 1 (Finnish: Länsiterminaali 1, Swedish: Västra terminalen 1) and West Terminal 2, which opened in February 2017. West Terminal 1 is used mainly by passenger ships from Helsinki to Saint Petersburg. West Terminal 2 is specialised in fast scheduled traffic to Tallinn, Estonia. As of 2013, Tallink and Eckerö Line operate routes to Tallinn, and St. Peter Line to Saint Petersburg. The construction of a new residential area for 15 thousand inhabitants in Jätkäsaari continues as of April 2020, using land freed up after the container traffic in West Harbour was moved to Vuosaari Harbour in 2008. Immediately next to West Harbour, in the Munkkisaari quarter, there is the Helsinki shipyard in Hietalahti. However, it is not counted as part of the harbour area of Länsisatama. Länsisatama is also the 20th neighbourhood of the city, extending around the harbour. The passenger terminals are served by Helsinki tram lines 7 and 9.

Itämerentorni (Finnish for "Baltic Sea Tower") is a high-rise office building located in the district of Ruoholahti in Helsinki, Finland. It is part of the Itämerentorni complex which also includes a lower, curved building at the foot of the tower. The building serves as an office for SITRA and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The building is located near the Länsiväylä highway at the Itämerentori square. The building is 66 metres tall and has 18 floors. The building was completed in 2000 and was designed by architect Pekka Helin. In 2000 the building was awarded the steel building of the year prize.

Lepakko or Lepakkoluola was a self-managed social centre in Ruoholahti, Helsinki, Finland, functioning from 1979 to 1999.

Jätkäsaari (Swedish: Busholmen) is a peninsula and a quarter in Helsinki, the capital city of Finland. It is part to the Kampinmalmi district and Länsisatama neighbourhood. It was the location of the main container harbour in Helsinki until late 2008, when the harbour moved to the new facilities in Vuosaari. The terminal for passenger ferries to Tallinn, Estonia, remains in Länsisatama (literally West Harbour in Finnish).

The Ruoholahti shopping centre is a shopping centre in the district of Ruoholahti, Helsinki, Finland. It is located in the premises of a former Alko bottling facility, where it was opened in 2003. The shopping centre includes about 20 businesses, of which the largest are K-Citymarket, K-Rauta, Tokmanni and Alko. Verkkokauppa.com, Finland's largest electronics store, was located in the shopping centre for eight years until it moved to the neighbouring district of Jätkäsaari in November 2011. The shopping centre also includes offices of several companies and various restaurants, a pharmacy and specialist stores. There is a parking garage located next to the shopping centre, with 1500 parking places. As a remnant of Alko's history in the building, there is a tunnel, closed to the general public, underneath the building leading to the Helsinki Court House. The tunnel serves as an air raid shelter.

The Jätkäsaari dumping site was an unofficial dumping ground in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki during 1930–44. The site is now part of the West Harbour of Helsinki. The place was never an official dumping ground, and it is not known for certain who exactly used it. It was used at least by private persons and companies, but possibly also by the City of Helsinki Sanitation Service.

The Crusell Bridge (Finnish: Crusellinsilta, Swedish: Crusellbron) is a bridge in the Länsisatama district of Helsinki, Finland, crossing the Ruoholahti bay in the Baltic Sea, about 24.8 metres wide and connecting the Ruoholahti and Jätkäsaari neighbourhoods. The bridge is a 173.4 metre long cable-stayed bridge, used by light traffic, automobile traffic and the Helsinki tram line 8. The bridge was inaugurated on 14 June 2011 by Mayor Jussi Pajunen. The bridge has been named after the Finnish composer and clarinet player Bernhard Henrik Crusell.

Bad Bad Boy is a pink sculpture made of concrete in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki, Finland. The sculpture was created by sculptor Tommi Toija and represents a naked urinating boy. The sculpture is eight and a half metres tall and weighs seven and a half tons. The water flow in the sculpture is heated so the boy can urinate all year round, even in winter. The sculpture was made of spray concrete around a steel frame and was made in Sweden.
