Strandherd station

Marketplace is a Southwest Transitway station in the Barrhaven neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The station is located at the Chapman Mills Marketplace shopping centre, an extensive commercial zone which contains big-box stores and department stores. A temporary bus terminal served the neighbourhood initially. This street facility was replaced on 17 April 2011 by the permanent Transitway station and a new southerly terminus at Barrhaven Centre station which became the main connection point for local bus routes.Route 177 travels north via the Transitway towards Fallowfield Station during AM peak, and provides residents in Cambrian with improved connections. These trips do not serve Longfields Drive between Jockvale Road and Marketplace Avenue, or Marketplace Avenue between Longfields Drive and the Transitway, and instead travel via Jockvale Road northbound directly to Barrhaven Centre station. Starting 19 July 2014, route 99 has selected trips extended to/from Barrhaven Centre Station via Nepean Woods Station, Beatrice Station, and the Vimy Memorial Bridge, providing a connection to Riverside South and Greenboro Station. This extension was later applied to all trips of route 99, and starting 5 September 2021, select routes have been extended even further to CitiGate.

Barrhaven is a suburb of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located about 17 km (11 mi) southwest of the city's downtown core. Prior to amalgamation with Ottawa in 2001, Barrhaven was part of the City of Nepean. Its population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 103,234.

Chapman Mills Marketplace is a shopping centre located in the Barrhaven neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The borders for the shopping district are Strandherd Drive to the north, Greenbank Road to the west, Longfields Drive to the east, and Chapman Mills Drive to the south.The centre consists of 20 buildings housing 66 stores and services including a grocery store (Loblaws, its anchor tenant), big box stores (Winners, Walmart), a cinema (Cineplex) and various restaurants. The property is owned by RioCan.Marketplace station on the southwestern portion of the Transitway provides OC Transpo bus service for the centre.

Barrhaven Centre station is the southerly terminus of the Southwest Transitway in the Barrhaven neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is the main western terminus of rapid route 75 for trips not coming from or heading to Cambrian, as well as rapid route 99 for most trips not coming from or heading to Citigate. As part of the Stage 3 O-Train expansion to Barrhaven and Kanata, this station will be converted to light rail and will become the new western terminus for Line 1.

Longfields is an Ottawa Transitway station in the Longfields neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (Barrhaven). The station is located on a route that runs along the south side of the CNR railway line southwest from Fallowfield Station towards Strandherd Station. Located close to the station are École élémentaire catholique Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, Mother Teresa High School and Longfields-Davidson Heights Secondary School.

St. Joseph High School is a Roman Catholic high school in the Barrhaven neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is run by the Ottawa Catholic School Board. In athletics, the school teams are referred to as the St. Joseph Jaguars and the school mascot is a jaguar named McJagger. Commonly known as St. Joe's by the local community, St. Joe's has an enrollment of approximately 2500-3000 students, ranging from grades 7 to 12, as well as 115 staff members.

Nepean is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1988 to 1997, and was reinstated during the 2012 electoral redistribution. The original riding was created in 1987 from parts of the Nepean—Carleton riding. It consisted of the City of Nepean. The electoral district was abolished in 1996 when it was redistributed between the Nepean—Carleton (54%) and the Ottawa West—Nepean (46%) ridings. The riding was then reinstated in 2012 by Elections Canada, taking effect upon the dropping of the writs for the 2015 federal election, scheduled for 19 October 2015. All of the current riding comes from parts of the former riding of Nepean—Carleton.

Nepean is a provincial electoral district that has existed from 1987 to 1999, and again since 2018. The riding was re-created federally with the 2012 redistribution process. That same process was followed by the Ontario government, meaning the provincial ridings follow a similar boundary division for the 2018 provincial election.

Barrhaven West Ward (Ward 3) is a city ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The ward consists of the western half of the Barrhaven subdivision. It consists of the neighbourhoods of Cedarhill Estates, Orchard Estates, Strandherd Meadows, Old Barrhaven, Barrhaven Mews, Jockvale, Halfmoon Bay and Stonebridge.

John McCrae Secondary School is a public secondary school in the Nepean district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It supports grades 9-12. Built in 1999, it is the primary public high school in Barrhaven, replacing its predecessor, Confederation High School. John McCrae Secondary School is attached to the Walter Baker Sports Centre. Attending students have several activities and amenities available to them, such as squash, swimming, weightlifting, and a library. The school is built on a hill in a residential neighborhood in old Barrhaven and is named for Lieutenant Colonel John Alexander McCrae, MD (November 30, 1872 – January 28, 1918), a Canadian poet and doctor during World War I who wrote the poem "In Flanders Fields". Prior to 2016, the school performed a musical every other year. Past years' musicals have included Lucky Stiff, Zombie Prom, High School Musical, "The Butler Did It, Singing," and Back to the 80s. In 2015, the school performed its last musical, Hair.
