James Russell Webster House is a historic home located at Waterloo in Seneca County, New York. It is a temple front Greek Revival style residence. When built in 1850-1855 it featured a two-story, three-bay, side hall main block flanked by two symmetrical one story, three-bay center hall wings. In the 1870s, a veneer of Italianate details were added during and expansion and modernization. The expansion included adding a second story to each side wing. The front facade features a pedimented portico supported by four Doric order columns. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Seneca Meadows, owned by Seneca Meadows, Inc. (SMI) is a landfill in Seneca Falls, New York, near Town of Waterloo, with almost 400 acres (160 ha) of landfill and a 2,600 acres (1,100 ha) facility. It is the largest active landfill in New York State, as well as Seneca County's fourth largest industrial employer. At peak times, the company employs more than 160 full-time workers. In 2005, it accepted more than 6,000 tons of garbage a day from multiple states (then three). The height limit was 280 feet (85 m). Methane gas is sent to a nearby independent facility for producing electricity, some of which Seneca Meadows buys back for its own power needs. Seneca Meadows began producing gas for electricity in 1995, then producing 2.4 Megawatts. Today it produces 18 Megawatts, enough to power 15,000 to 18,000 homes. Seneca Meadows parent company, IESI Corporation, claims that the revenue of the landfill is around $48 million. In the 2020s, as the existing operating license neared expiration, the owners sought to expand the landfill in both area and height, which was met with opposition amongst the nearby residents and municipalities. The swale between the existing mounds would be filled in and extend the peak height of the landfill by over 70 feet (21 m) to about 350 feet (107 m). The company plans to continue operations until 2040.

Waterloo United Methodist Church is a historic United Methodist church located at Waterloo in Seneca County, New York. It was constructed in 1895 and is a brick and stone church with vernacular Romanesque / Greek Revival style design and decorative detail. It features an 85-foot (26 m) tripartite tower, crowned by a tall steeple. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Saint Paul's Church is a historic Episcopal church located at Waterloo in Seneca County, New York. It was constructed in 1863-1864 and is a masonry church built of local limestone in the Gothic Revival style. The 52 feet by 72 feet church features a tower with a stone spire and clock. A large two story rough cut limestone parish house was built in 1916. After 1856 the church built St. John's Chapel on Chapel Street in Waterloo. The land was purchased by Jane Hunt, a Quaker known for support of women's rights. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Waterloo Library, also known as the Waterloo Library and Historical Society, is a historic library building located at Waterloo in Seneca County, New York. The second story of the two-story frame structure contains a small theater. It was built in 1883 in the Queen Anne style and is sheathed in brick. The structure is composed of a two-story main block with a three-story projecting pavilion and one-story intersecting gable wing. It features a number of distinctive Victorian era features such as steeply pitched and intersecting gable roofs; stone elements such as lintels, belt courses, sills, and chimney abutments and caps; and terra cotta wall surfaces and ridge blocks. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Waterloo is a village and primary county seat of Seneca County, New York, United States. The population was 5,171 at the 2010 census and is now the most populated village in Seneca County. The village is named after Waterloo, Belgium, where Napoleon was defeated. It is the primary county seat of Seneca County, with the other being Ovid as part of a two-shire system established in 1822. Most of the county administrative offices are located in the village. Therefore, many political sources only list Waterloo as the county seat. The Village of Waterloo is mostly in the Town of Waterloo, but the part south of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal of the village is in the Town of Fayette and a small area in the southeast of the village is in Town of Seneca Falls. Waterloo is east of Geneva and is located in between the two main Finger Lakes, Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake.

M'Clintock House, also known as the Baptist Parsonage, is a historic home located at Waterloo in Seneca County, New York. It is a two-story, Federal style brick dwelling built in 1833–1836. The home is notable as the residence of Quaker pharmacist Thomas M'Clintock and his wife Mary Ann from 1836 to 1856. In July 16, 1848, the home was the location where the Declaration of Sentiments and other resolutions and speeches were drawn up for the subsequent First Women's Rights Convention. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The house is one of the sites of the Women's Rights National Historical Park. The restored mid-19th century home is open for tours in summer.

First Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located at Waterloo in Seneca County, New York. It was constructed in 1850 and is a monumental brick Romanesque Revival, 104-by-65-foot (32 by 20 m) edifice. The facade features a large rose window and two soaring, square, 90-foot-tall (27 m) corner towers with octagonal spires. A small 1+1⁄2-story chapel was added to the east elevation of the church in 1880–1881. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

William H. Burton House, also known as the National Memorial Day Museum, is a historic home located at Waterloo in Seneca County, New York. It consists of a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay offset front entrance main block with two rear wings. The original 1830s Federal-style residence was modified to its present Italianate style in about 1870 and features a hipped roof and cupola. In 1965, the building was purchased by the Waterloo Library and Historical Society to house collections and memorabilia related to the birth of Memorial Day in Waterloo in 1866. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

US Post Office-Waterloo is a historic post office building located at Waterloo in Seneca County, New York. It was designed and built in 1924 and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, James A. Wetmore. It is a symmetrically massed, one story brick building executed in the Colonial Revival style. The roof is surmounted by a wooden cornice and brick parapet. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Hunt House is a historic home located at Waterloo in Seneca County, New York. It was built about 1830 and is a two-story brick dwelling with a distinctive pedimented portico supported by four Doric order columns. The home was renovated to its current appearance in the 1920s. The home is notable as the residence of Mrs. Jane C. Hunt who, on July 13, 1848, invited Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Martha Coffin Wright, and Mary Ann M'Clintock to it to plan the First Women's Rights Convention in the United States. Hunt House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is one of the sites of the Women's Rights National Historical Park but is currently closed for public tours.
