Manvel is a city in Brazoria County, Texas, United States. As of the July 2022 census estimates the population was 14,803, up from 9,908 at the 2020 census.

Iowa Colony is an incorporated Home Rule City in Brazoria County, Texas, United States, in the Houston metropolitan area. As of the 2020 Census, the city had a population of 8,154.

Smart Choice Moosa Stadium is a cricket stadium in Pearland, Texas. The stadium is owned by Smart Choice, a former sponsor of the United States national cricket team. It is named after Smart Choice CEO Sakhi Muhammad’s father. It is home to American College Cricket.

Iowa Colony High School is a senior high school in Iowa Colony, Texas. It is a part of the Alvin Independent School District (AISD) and is within the Alvin ISD Heritage Complex.The school colors are black, hunter green, and silver. The mascot is Blaze the Ox, however the school body itself is represented by the title "Pioneers". It is adjacent to the 10,000-seat Alvin ISD facility Freedom Field.The school serves almost all of Iowa Colony, and southern Manvel (portions of both places below Texas State Highway 6). Its boundary includes Meridiana.

The Sri Meenakshi Temple (also called the Sri Meenakshi Devasthanam) is a Hindu temple located in Pearland, Brazoria County, Texas, in the Houston metropolitan area. The temple's presiding deity is Meenakshi Devi, an aspect of Parvati whose consort is Sundareswarar, an aspect of Shiva. Meenakshi Devi is also the presiding deity of the famous Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. The Sri Meenakshi Temple in Pearland is the only temple outside India dedicated to Meenakshi Devi. Built in 1982 and designed by Indian architect S. M. Ganapathy Sthapathi in the South Indian Dravidian style of Hindu temple architecture, it is the third-oldest Hindu temple in the United States.The temple's main shrine is dedicated to Meenakshi Devi, Sundareswarar, Venkateshwara (a form of Vishnu), and Lakshmi. Other shrines within the temple complex are dedicated to Ganesha, Rama, Ayappa, Durga, Nandi, and Garuda. In addition to the main shrine, the temple has four additional corner shrines – one at each corner. The temple also has sculptures of the Tamil Alwar and Nayanar poet-saints and gurus of Vedanta philosophy (Adi Shankaracharya, Ramanujacharya, and Madhvacharya).The Sri Meenakshi Temple attracts Hindu devotees and visitors from across the Houston metropolitan area. It is considered one of Greater Houston's most prominent religious landmarks as well as a major visitor attraction in Pearland.

Pearland Town Center is a lifestyle center concept regional shopping mall located in the rapidly growing city of Pearland, Texas south of Houston. Managed by CBL & Associates, the center was completed in 2008 and includes three anchor stores with room for an additional anchor store. In May 2011, it was announced that TIAA-CREF would receive 12% ownership of Pearland Town Center in an attempt to reduce CBL's debt. The anchor stores are Barnes & Noble, Dillard's, Macy's, and Dick's Sporting Goods.

Shadow Creek High School is a public high school in the Shadow Creek Ranch area of Pearland, Texas, in Greater Houston. A part of the Alvin Independent School District (AISD), SCHS was established in 2016. The mascot is the shark. The school was named after its location in Shadow Creek Ranch. It is on 72 acres (29 ha) of land; the three story, 520,000-square-foot (48,000 m2) structure is the district's third comprehensive high school.Previously SCHS's boundary included a northeast portion of Manvel.

The Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is a large multi-specialty clinic system located in Greater Houston with its administrative headquarters in Shadow Creek Ranch, Pearland. The clinic system is a major provider of healthcare for NASA and a center for healthcare research. In April, 2022, UnitedHealth Group's Optum, Inc. acquired Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.

Glenda Dawson High School (DHS) is a public high school in Pearland, Texas, United States. It is a part of the Pearland Independent School District serving grades 9 through 12. In 2014, the school was awarded a national rank of 1,165th by U.S. News & World Report, which puts it in the silver medal category. U.S. News & World Report ranks it 106th in Texas and 895th nationally. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Arcola is a city in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The population was 2,034 as of the 2020 census, an increase over the figure of 1,642 tabulated by the 2010 census, which represented, in turn, an increase over the 2000 figure of 1,048. Arcola incorporated in 1986.

Hawdon was a town and rail station in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, alternately known as Howden, Hawdon Junction, and Arcola. It was located just north of Juliff, and south of Arcola. It was served by the International–Great Northern Railroad via the Columbia Branch. A rail switch was located at Hawdon to connect the Sugar Land Railroad near the (still extant) Palestine Missionary Baptist Church to House Junction. Passenger service ended in 1920, but the rail line through town lasted until the 1980s. The main road through town is Farm to Market Road 521. A church cemetery served the community at one time, but it has not been located.
