Ballybane

St James' is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Galway area in County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Underage teams up to U-16's play in the Galway league and championships while they compete at higher levels as well. The club has had much success in recent years winning back to back Minor A County Championships in 2006 & 2007, as well as two Minor A West Board titles in the same years. They finished top of the Minor League in 2006. At Intermediate level, the club narrowly missed out on the 2006 and 2009 county titles. These victories indicated the future was certainly bright for the club, and in 2010, won the Galway Intermediate Championship, beating An Spidéal in the final, and also defeating Carna-Caiseal in the semi finals, after two replays. They progressed to win the Connacht Club Intermediate Championship, and from there beat Gneevguilla of Kerry in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club semi-final in Mallow, County Cork. St James' faced Lisnaskea Emmets of Fermanagh in the All Ireland intermediate club football final in Croke Park, on 12 February 2011.

Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) (Irish: Institúid Teicneolaíochta na Gaillimhe-Maigh Eo) was a third-level institute of education. In April 2022, it was formally dissolved, and its functions were transferred to Atlantic Technological University (ATU). Now a constituent institute of ATU, it has facilities in the west of Ireland. GMIT's campuses are located in Galway City, Castlebar, Letterfrack and Mountbellew. GMIT won The Sunday Times Institute of Technology of the Year award in 2004, 2007, 2015 and 2022. GMIT also has a number of specialist research centres and two Innovation Hubs (in Galway and Mayo).

Atlantic Technological University (also known as Atlantic TU or ATU; Irish: Ollscoil Teicneolaíochta an Atlantaigh; OTA) is a technological university in the west and north-west of Ireland. It was formally established on 1 April 2021 as a merger of three regional institutes of technology (ITs) - Galway-Mayo IT, IT Sligo, and Letterkenny IT - into a single technological university, the fourth such TU in Ireland.

Maryam Mosque, or the Mary Mosque (Irish: Mosc Mhuire), also known as the Galway Mosque (Irish: Mosc na Gaillimhe) is an Ahmadi Muslim mosque, named in honour of Mary, mother of Jesus. The mosque is located in Galway, Connacht, Ireland. Opened in 2014 by Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the fifth caliph, it is the first purpose-built mosque in County Galway. The Irish born convert to Islam Iman Ibrahim Noonan is based in Galway. In July 2019 the mosque was vandalised, with windows and locks broken, and equipment stolen.

The Bon Secours Hospital, Galway is a private hospital in County Galway, Ireland. The hospital is part of Bon Secours Mercy Health. This includes sister hospitals in Cork, Dublin, Limerick and Tralee. The hospital sees over 18,000 patients per annum, comprising 6,000 in-patients and 12,000 day-cases.

The People's Park is the largest public park in Waterford city, Ireland. Laid out over a century ago, its 6.6 hectares (16.3 acres) comprise the foremost public green space in the city. It is located at the junction of the Park Road and William Street. The current site of the People's Park was originally a marshland which John's River ran through, however in 1857 the river was diverted and the marshland drained to make way for the construction of the park. The park contains a Victorian-era bandstand, the Goff cycle track, a children's playground, a spherical monument and water feature and an old painted iron bridge connecting the park to the grounds of the Court House. The park has been renovated and upgraded in recent years. The old caretaker's house has been carefully renovated and a small extension has been added with the Park Lodge café now occupying the structure. A baby playground area has also been built. On 12 July 2006, €1 million funding was announced to continue refurbishment. Perhaps the most important element of the aforementioned refurbishment is the inclusion of a skateboarding park.

The Galway Races (Irish: Rásaí na Gaillimhe) is an Irish horse-racing festival that starts on the last Monday of July every year. Held at Ballybrit Racecourse in Galway, Ireland over seven days, it is one of the longest of all the race meets that occur in Ireland. The busiest days of the festival are Wednesday, when the Galway Plate is held, and Thursday, when the Galway Hurdle and Ladies' Day take place.

City Hall (Irish: Halla na Cathrach, Gaillimh) is a municipal facility being fitted out at Crown Square in Galway, Ireland. It is scheduled to become the administrative centre of Galway City Council in 2024.

Ballybrit (Irish: Baile an Bhriotaigh) is an electoral division and townland in the civil parish of St. Nicholas, on the outskirts of Galway city in Ireland. The townland of Ballybrit is 2.5 square kilometres (1 sq mi) in area, and is home to Ballybrit Racecourse and a business park. Evidence of ancient settlement in the area includes a medieval tower house and an earlier ringfort site. The ringfort (or cashel) was used as a graveyard since at least the early 19th century.

Ballybrit Race Track, also known as Galway Racecourse, is a horse race course in County Galway, Ireland. It is located in the townland of Ballybrit, in the environs of Castlegar, just north of the N6 Bóthar na dTreabh, c.6 km northeast of Galway city. The track has two stands, the Main Stand and Millennium Stand. The 7-day Galway Races Festival is held here every August. Other meetings are held here in September (2 days), early October (1 day) and over the last weekend in October (3 days).
