Severn Run High School

Archbishop Spalding High School is a private, Catholic co-educational high school located in Severn, Maryland, USA. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore. Most of its students live in Annapolis, Crownsville, Arnold, Pasadena, Severna Park, Crofton, Millersville, Glen Burnie, or Davidsonville in Anne Arundel County. Some also travel from southern Baltimore County, east Prince George's County and parts of Howard County. Spalding has numerous clubs for student involvement and/or academic competition, including Academic Bowl, Mock Trial, Strategic Gaming, HOPE (Help Our Planet Earth) and a NAIMUN award-winning Model United Nations team. It also has many competitive sports teams, such as rugby, soccer, cheerleading, dance, basketball, softball, american football, ice hockey, baseball, lacrosse, track and cross country. These athletic teams compete in the MIAA and the IAAM Conferences. The school sponsors a highly competitive music program, in which students participate in interstate competitions each year. Archbishop Spalding's mascot is the Cavalier.

Old Mill High School is a public high school in Millersville, Maryland, serving students in grades 9 through 12. It was occupied in 1975 and is administered by Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS). The school was built to alleviate overcrowding at Arundel and Severna Park High Schools. The school has no walls or ceilings in some classrooms, only partitions to separate classrooms. Along with Annapolis High School and Meade Senior High School, Old Mill Senior High is one of the three IB World Schools in Anne Arundel County. The school building also houses the high school's two feeder schools, Old Mill Middle School North and Old Mill Middle School South. The school mascot is the patriot.

South Gate was a census-designated place (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States, for the 2000 census, at which time its population was 28,672. It was added primarily to the Glen Burnie CDP for the 2010 census.

Queenstown Rosenwald School, also known as Sunnyside School, is a historic Rosenwald school building located at Severn in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It was built in 1932 and is a plain, one-story, frame building. The building contained two classrooms and a library. The school closed in 1966 and subsequently became the Queenstown Community Center.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) is a hospital in Glen Burnie, Maryland that is part of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS). This hospital opened as North Arundel Hospital in 1965 with three floors and limited acute care services. The Anne Arundel County Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States, serving a population of more than 564,195 per 2015 census estimates across 588 square miles (1,500 km2) of jurisdiction. The Department was created by an Act of the Maryland General Assembly in 1937, and originally consisted of a Chief of Police, three sergeants, and seventeen patrolmen. As of 2020, the department is staffed by approximately 770 sworn officers and more than 200 civilian members, including chaplains, crime scene technicians, animal control officers, communications call-takers and dispatchers, and volunteer "reserve officers" under the leadership of Chief of Police, Amal Awad. The Anne Arundel County Police Department has been internationally accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies since July 30, 1994.

Gambrills refers to two neighboring places in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States, located in the Annapolis metro area: the unincorporated community of Gambrills, and the Gambrills census-designated place (CDP). The area was named after Augustine Gambrill, plantation owner. The CDP covers an expansive range that falls within the communities of Crofton, Waugh Chapel, and Odenton. It also borders Davidsonville, Crownsville, Millersville, and Prince George's County, Maryland.

Howard's Adventure is a historic slave plantation located in Gambrills, Maryland in Anne Arundel County. The historic estate was a starting point for the prominent Hammond Family of the region. The House was built by Charles Hammond after 1710. It was the home of Matthias Hammond, builder of the Hammond–Harwood House, and Colonel Rezin Hammond, builder of Burleigh Manor. The house remnants and Hammond Graveyard now site within the U.S. Naval Academy farm complex.

Harundale Mall, in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States at the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Aquahart Road, was the first enclosed, air-conditioned mall built east of the Mississippi River. Originally built in 1958, the mall closed in 1997 and was demolished and redeveloped into Harundale Plaza, a shopping center anchored by Lidl and Regency Furniture.

Marley Station Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Opened in 1987, it was expanded in 1994 and 1996. The mall has 130 stores on 2 floors, a movie theater, and 5 anchor spaces. JCPenney, Macy's, and Golds Gym serve as the mall's current anchor tenants. The other two anchor spaces were occupied by Boscov's until 2008, and Sears until 2021.

Harundale (pronounced HAIR-un-DALE) is an unincorporated community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. In 1947, the Byrne Organization made news when it set up a prefabrication shop on the 300-acre site and churned out parts for all 1,200 homes at once. The houses featured welded steel frames which formed the basis of a structure using other materials. Outside walls were a choice of brick, shingle, or aluminum siding over redwood. Inside walls were plaster. The houses were constructed in two different styles with three or four rooms on a concrete slab, which sold for $6,900. The community was one of largest prefabricated developments in America. Their construction marked the start of phenomenal post-World War II suburbanization of previously rural Anne Arundel County. Most homes were three-bedroom and were front facing the street. A very few were side facing the street and a small number were two-bedroom units. The Governor Ritchie Highway split the community into East and West sections. The West section consisted of primarily rental units, whereas the East section homes were owned. Heating was by infloor radiant heat. The community had its own artesian well water plant. It shared an elementary school with the community of Glen Gardens in Glen Bernie and was therefore called “Glen”dale”. Community street names were all of British derivation. They ran alphabetically from North to South on both the East and West sides but were different on each side. The needs of the new community's more than 5,000 people were first served by a strip shopping center. Harundale Mall, reportedly the first enclosed shopping mall east of the Mississippi River, was opened in 1958.
