Yongsan International School of Seoul (YISS) is a kindergarten (age 5) to 12th grade college-preparatory international school. The Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art is a museum in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea, run by the Samsung Foundation of Culture.It consists of two parts that house traditional Korean art and contemporary art. The first part of the museum is designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta and the second part of the museum by French architect Jean Nouvel and Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas.

Embassy of Ukraine in Seoul (Ukrainian: Посольство України в Республіці Корея；Korean: 주한 우크라이나 대사관) is the official diplomatic mission of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea. The embassy is located at 21 45th St., Itaewon, Yongsan District, Seoul. The embassy was officially established in 1997, following Ukrainian independence in 1991 and the establishment of relations between the nations in 1992. The original embassy was located in Seocho District, but has relocated twice before being where it is today.

All That Jazz (Korean: 올댓재즈) is a jazz club in the Itaewon area of Yongsan District, Seoul, South Korea. It is the oldest active jazz club in the country, having been founded in 1976. It was originally located near the Hamilton Hotel, but in 2023 the club was relocated to a new space with a modern interior. The club has been described as a "sacred place" (성지) for Korean jazz. It reportedly holds concerts 364 days of the year (excluding Memorial Day).

Around 22:20 on 29 October 2022, a crowd crush occurred during Halloween festivities in the Itaewon neighborhood of Seoul, South Korea. According to the South Korean government, 159 people were killed and 196 others were injured. The death toll includes two people who died after the crush. The victims were mostly young adults; 27 of the victims were foreign nationals. The crowd crush is the deadliest disaster in South Korea since the sinking of MV Sewol in 2014 and the largest mass casualty incident in Seoul since the Sampoong Department Store collapse in 1995. It is the deadliest crowd crush in the country's history, surpassing a 1959 incident at the Busan Municipal Stadium in which 67 people were crushed to death.A special police team conducted an investigation of the disaster within a few days of it occurring, and concluded on 13 January 2023 that the police and governments' failure to adequately prepare for the crowds, despite a number of ignored warnings, was the cause of the incident. Following the disaster and throughout the investigation, the government and police faced widespread criticism and protest. President Yoon Suk Yeol and his administration faced a number of protests that demanded his resignation, although he did not resign.

Itaewon Station is a station on Line 6 of the Seoul Subway. It takes its name from the neighborhood in which it is located in, also called Itaewon. There are many shops and restaurants for foreigners located close to Itaewon Station.

The Seoul Central Mosque (Korean: 서울중앙성원) is a mosque opened in 1976 in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea. It is located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan District. It holds lectures in English, Arabic, and Korean. Friday prayers regularly attract between four hundred and five hundred worshipers in the afternoon, though regular attendance has sometimes been known to climb as high as eight hundred people.

Nam Mountain (pleonastically Namsan Mountain or Mount Namsan, lit. "South Mountain") is a 262-meter (860 ft)-high peak in the Jung-gu district of south central Seoul, South Korea. Although known as Mongmyeoksan, or 목멱산 / 木覓山 in the past, it is now commonly referred to as Mt. Namsan. It offers some hiking, picnic areas and views of downtown Seoul's skyline. The N Seoul Tower is located on top of Mt. Namsan. The mountain and its surrounding area is Namsan Park, a public park maintained by the city government, which has panoramic views of Seoul. It is also the location of a smoke signal station called Mongmyeoksan Bongsudae' (Mongmyeoksan Beacon Tower, Hangul: 목멱산 봉수대), which was part of an emergency communication system during much of Seoul's history until 1985. From 1925 to 1945 the Shinto shrine known as Chōsen Jingū was situated on Mt. Namsan.In 2011 a survey was conducted by Seoul Development Institute, which included 800 residents and 103 urban planners and architects. It ranked Mt. Namsan as the most scenic location in Seoul by 62.8 percent of residents and 70.9 percent of the experts surveyed.The park and the fountain were used as the filming location for Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS)'s drama Lovers in Paris.Namsan is mentioned in the second verse of South Korea's National Anthem.

Itaewon Books (Korean: 이태원북스), formerly Itaewon Foreign Bookstore, is a secondhand bookstore in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea that specializes in English-language books. Founded in 1973, it is the oldest English-only secondhand book store in Seoul. It is a designated Seoul Future Heritage, and has remained a family business. By 2024, it was run by the daughter of the founder. It opened in 1973. It was founded by Choi Ki-woong; Choi continued to operate the business even by 2011. He had been trading books since the 1960s, although then without a storefront. He gathered texts he could find that were in English, including American department store catalogues, novels, and magazines. He sold them to bookstores in Seoul. He used a handcart for transporting the books. In 1985, the store moved locations. A 2024 article reported that Choi's daughter Choi Mi-ra was the owner of the business.

Hannam-dong is a dong, neighbourhood of Yongsan-gu in Seoul, and one of the most affluent neighborhoods in South Korea. Initially not included within the Yongsan ward, during the Japanese colonial period it was a small hamlet called Han River Village (한강리/漢江里) within the Hanji township (한지면/漢芝面), Goyang County (고양군/高陽郡) and lying close to the Han River.Being right across the river from the Gangnam area of Seoul and its proximity to locations in northern Seoul makes the neighborhood centrally located in Seoul. Many celebrities and executives live in three well known residential areas in the neighborhood: UN Village, The Hill, and Richensia Apartments. Beginning in the 2010s, the area has grown into a trendy hotspot both day and night with boutique cafes, restaurants and bars proliferating the area. The area also has a large concentration of foreign and expatriate residents, mainly business executives and diplomats.Hannam-dong has been portrayed continuously in South Korea's popular culture as a wealth and luxury spot, and for thus it has been a subject in domestic films, television series, and in the Korean pop music.

Noksapyeong Station is a subway station on the Seoul Subway Line 6. It is located on the eastern end of the Yongsan Garrison, and the western end of Itaewon. It is the main station servicing the Haebangchon and Hoenamu-gil communities, which are known for having significant foreign populations. This station has low ridership due to its location, but is noted for its impressive interior design. It has five underground levels, and a glass dome on top of the building lets in sunlight which permeates throughout the station. In addition to being featured in Korean movies and dramas, weddings could be held there at no cost for a few years after opening. The embassy of the Philippines in South Korea is close to this station. Namsan lies just to the north, a 20-minute walk from the station.
