Ernst-Happel-Stadion (Ernst-Happel-Stadion ), known as Praterstadion until 1992, sometimes also called Wiener-Stadion, is a football stadium in Leopoldstadt, the 2nd district of Austria's capital Vienna. With 50,865 seats, it is the largest stadium in Austria. It was built between 1929 and 1931 for the second Workers' Olympiad to the design of German architect Otto Ernst Schweizer. The stadium was renamed in honour of Austrian footballer Ernst Happel following his death in 1992. The stadium hosted seven games in UEFA Euro 2008, including the final which saw Spain triumph over Germany. The stadium is owned by the City of Vienna (Municipal Department 51 – Sports of the City of Vienna). It is managed by the Wiener Stadthalle Betriebs und Veranstaltungsgesellschaft m.b.H., a subsidiary of Wien Holding. It is a UEFA Category 4 stadium, and as such, it is the home of the Austria national football team. It also hosts the Viennese clubs' matches in UEFA competitions. The stadium is served by Stadion station on the U2 metro line and 11A bus line.

Established on 23 August 1894, it is the second oldest team after their rivals First Vienna FC 1894. It is familiarly known to Austrians by the English name Cricketer. In the early 20th century the club was popular for cricket and football, but now athletics and tennis.

The Ferry-Dusika-Hallenstadion was an indoor arena in Vienna, Austria. It was built in 1976, held 7,700 spectators and hosted indoor sporting events such as track cycling, tennis and athletics. It hosted an annual indoor track and field meeting – the Vienna Indoor Classic.It was named after Austrian cyclist Franz Dusika. The arena hosted the last cycling competition in July 2021. Afterwards the building was torn down. In its place, a new arena called "Sportarena Wien" will be built until 2023. The new indoor arena will not feature a velodrome. This was criticized by the Austrian Cycling Federation because they were not involved in the planning.

The old grandstand and a tower for officials were finished in 1913. Krieau Race Track is the second oldest harness racing track in Europe after the 1834 built Central Moscow Hippodrome.Major annual racing events are the 1886 established Österreichisches Traber-Derby and the Graf Kalman Hunyady Memorial, held since 1901. Krieau Race Track is also used as a concert venue, recently hosting artists like Avicii, Robbie Williams, Green Day and Bon Jovi.

Leopoldstadt (German pronunciation: [ˈleːopɔltˌʃtat] (listen); Bavarian: Leopoidstod, "Leopold-Town") is the 2nd municipal district of Vienna (German: 2. Bezirk) in Austria. As of 1 January 2016, there are 103,233 inhabitants over 19.27 km2 (7 sq mi). It is situated in the heart of the city and, together with Brigittenau (20th district), forms a large island surrounded by the Danube Canal and, to the north, the Danube. It is named after Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor. Due to its relatively high percentage of Jewish inhabitants before the Holocaust (38.5 percent in 1923), Leopoldstadt gained the nickname Mazzesinsel ('Matzo Island'). This context was a significant aspect for the district twinning with the New York City borough Brooklyn in 2007.

Krieau is a station on U2 of the Vienna underground railway (U-Bahn) network. It is located in the Leopoldstadt district of the city, and is the station that serves both Messe Wien as well as the new campus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. It opened in 2008. Krieau Station was originally to be named Trabrennstraße, but the planned name was changed in 2006, two years before the station opened.

Donaumarina is a station on U2 of the Vienna U-Bahn. It is located in the Leopoldstadt District. It opened in 2010.

The Rotunde (German: [roˈtʊndə]) in Vienna was a building erected for the Weltausstellung 1873 Wien (the Vienna World Fair of 1873). The building was a partially covered circular steel construction, 84 m (approx. 275 ft) in height and 108 m (approx. 354 ft) in diameter. For almost one century, it was the largest dome construction in the world, larger than the Pantheon in Rome (Not until 1957 was a larger dome built; this was the Belgrade Fair – Hall 1, and it was only 1 m larger in diameter.) It was designed by the Austrian architect Karl Freiherr von Hasenauer and built by the German company Johann Caspar Harkort of Duisburg. The Scottish engineer for the roof was John Scott Russell, who used 4,000 tons of steel with no ties.The central building of the World Fair was accepted enthusiastically by the public. It was used for shows and fairs later on. Alexander Girardi performed a concert in this hall. In 1898 a "Collektivausstellung österreichischer Automobilbauer" (Collective Exhibition of Austrian Carbuilders) was shown during the "Kaiser Franz Joseph Jubiläumsausstellung" (Emperor Franz Joseph Jubilee-Exhibition). The first four cars ever built in Austria-Hungary were shown there, amongst them the car built by Siegfried Marcus in 1888/89. The Rotunde burned down in 1937. Its former location is now occupied by a portal of the Vienna International Fair.

The Mannesmann Tower Vienna ( Mannesmann Tower, also called Messeturm ) was a 150 metres (490 ft) tall steel lattice tower with a triangular cross-section that was built in 1955 by the Mannesmann company on the exhibition grounds in Vienna. The Mannesmann tower was a gift from the Düsseldorf-based Mannesmann AG to the Vienna Trade Fair and was realized under the direction of Josef Fröhlich. It was built from seamless tubular steel. The manufacture of seamless steel tubes by rolling was a process developed by Mannesmann in 1885 and the term Mannesmann tube was synonymous with seamless steel tubes for many decades. Similar towers already existed in Düsseldorf (1954, 143 m), Sao Paulo (1954, 100 m) and other cities. During the night the tower was illuminated with neon lamps. A corner junction was specially exhibited at the foot so that the connection between the individual pipes could be seen. When Mannesmann exhibited at a trade fair in the 1950s and 1960s, it had its stand by this tower. It served the cellular and non-public mobile land radio service, including the radio of the medical emergency service. At the end of the 1950s, thought was given to erecting a meteorological measuring point on the tower in order to record ground inversions, as it protruded just above the level of the factory chimneys. Meteorological measuring stations were actually implemented and planned from the start at the Danube Tower. The tower was demolished in 1987.

The Prater Liliputbahn is a 381 mm (15 in) gauge light railway in Vienna, Austria. Opened in 1928, and extended in 1933, the railway operates primarily as a tourist attraction, but also provides transport links around the wider area of the Prater park, the amusement park (Wurstelprater), and the sports stadium. Although a year-round service was provided for many years, it is now more common for the railway to close during the months of December, January, and February. Originally steam-operated, the railway now uses a mixture of steam and diesel motive power. The railway can be reached by bus, tram, or metro from central Vienna, followed by a short walk, but following the extension of tram line 1, there is now an almost direct interchange with the Vienna tram network at the railway's Rotunda Station. The railway is named after the fictional island Lilliput (German: Lilliput and Liliput), inhabited by very small individuals in Gulliver's Travels (German: Gullivers Reisen) by Jonathan Swift.

The Vienna University of Economics and Business (German: Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, WU) is a public research university in Vienna, Austria, the largest university focusing on business, management and economics in Europe. It has been ranked as one of the best business schools in Europe and received Triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA). Vienna University of Economics and Business ranked 36th among more than 13,000 universities worldwide offering degrees in Business & Management in the 2022 QS World University Rankings by subject. Today, WU has more than 20,000 students and over 400 researchers and lecturers, among those about 90 full professors. It increasingly draws students from outside Austria, mostly from Central and Eastern Europe. Most of the faculty are of Austrian or German nationality.
