St. Mark's Church is an Anglican parish church in Grenoside, South Yorkshire, England. It is in the Deanery of Ecclesfield, and was built in 1884.Regular Sunday services are at 10:00am. Hospitality, fellowship and food are a speciality; when a month has a fifth Sunday breakfast is sometimes served to all-comers. Other groups for adults and children meet at different times through the week.

West Ecclesfield ward—which includes the districts of Burncross, Grenoside, High Green—is one of the 28 electoral wards in City of Sheffield, England. It is located in the northern part of the city and covers an area of 4.83 square miles (3,090 acres; 12.5 km2) in the western part of Ecclesfield Parish. The population of this ward in 2011 was 17,699 people in 7,675 households. West Ecclesfield was one of the six wards that made up the former Sheffield Hillsborough Parliamentary constituency. In their final report, the Boundary Commission for England recommended that West Ecclesfield form part of a reformed Penistone Parliamentary constituency. West Ecclesfield is composed of a number of polling districts. There are six in total; Angram Bank, Burncross, Grenoside one and two, Mortomley and Wortley Road.

Whitley Hall is a 16th-century mansion which since 1969 has been converted into a restaurant and then a hotel. It is situated in the northern rural district of the City of Sheffield in South Yorkshire, England. The small hamlet of Whitley lies in the countryside between the suburbs of Grenoside, Chapeltown and Ecclesfield some 7.5 km (4.7 mi) north of the city centre. The hall is a Grade II* listed building.

Birley Old Hall is a small English country house situated in the Birley Edge area of the City of Sheffield, England. The hall stands in an exposed situation at almost 200 metres above sea level on Edge Lane, some six km NW of the city centre and has been designated a Grade II listed building by English Heritage as has the Falconry which stands in the garden.

High Green is a suburb of Sheffield, England, located about 8 miles from the city centre. It is found to the north of Chapeltown and is served by buses; the nearest rail station is in Chapeltown 1 mile away. The suburb falls within the West Ecclesfield ward of the city Council. Wharncliffe Crags are nearby, as is Westwood Country Park. High Green has 5 primary schools: 4 mainstream schools (Angram Bank Primary, High Green Primary, Greengate Lane Primary and St. Mary's Primary) and 1 non-maintained special school, Paces School formerly High Green Secondary, for both primary and secondary age children. High Green does not have a mainstream secondary school; pupils instead usually go to Ecclesfield School, approximately 2 miles away in the Ecclesfield suburb. Other secondary schools in the area are Stocksbridge or Notre Dame. High Green is the home of Paces, a registered charity providing services for children and young people with cerebral palsy and their families, including a school. The band Arctic Monkeys comes from High Green. Their frontman Alex Turner usually presents the band in concert saying, "We are the Arctic Monkeys from High Green, Sheffield!" Their song "Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured" includes the lyrics, "I said, it's High Green, mate / Via Hillsborough, please!" At the end of another song, "All My Own Stunts," Matt Helders shouts "Because I'm from High Green, I'm from High Green!" The band's drumhead features the numbers 0114, the dialing code for Sheffield. In 2012 the organist at St. Saviour's parish church was murdered on his way to midnight communion on Christmas Eve. Two men were later convicted and jailed for the attack.

Chaucer School is a secondary school with academy status located in the Parson Cross area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Named after Geoffrey Chaucer, the school became Sheffield's third comprehensive school (after Myers Grove School and Hinde House School) in 1964, located on two sites separated by a field, one newly built. These were made up of the west building (Top) located on Halifax Road and the east building (Bottom) on Wordsworth Avenue. By 2005, these buildings were old and in need of refurbishment, and all of the staff, students and resources were moved into the "bottom" building which underwent internal and external improvement including the erection of a new sports hall and drama and music rooms. The new school re-opened in September 2006 as Chaucer Business And Enterprise College, one of only 17 English schools formally authorized to adopt Building Schools for the Future (BSF) status. The specialist school, now with over 1000 pupils in the 11 to 16 age-group had undergone a £15 million transformation to upgrade services and infrastructure.Chaucer is part of the Tapton School Academy Trust.

Yewlands Academy (formerly known as Yewlands Secondary School and Yewlands Technology College) is a secondary school with academy status located in the Grenoside area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Until March 2018, it was managed by the Wakefield City Academies Trust. Following the collapse of the trust, it was taken over by the Brigantia Learning Trust who manage the nearby schools Hinde House School and Longley Park Sixth Form. The school was originally located on three sites; Elm, Yew and Willow. The school was rebuilt as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme and reopened in September 2009. The school has under 900 students.

Ecclesfield Priory was a religious house of Benedictine monks, lying in the village of Ecclesfield, north of Sheffield in Yorkshire, England.

The Church of St Mary, Ecclesfield, is situated on Church Street in the village of Ecclesfield, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It is situated 4.3 miles (7 km) north of the city centre. It is a Grade I listed building, one of only five within the Sheffield city boundary. It was originally the parish church for Hallamshire, one of the largest parishes in England and in the seventeenth century was known as the "Minster of the Moors" due to its then rural situation.

East Ecclesfield ward—which includes the districts of Chapeltown and Ecclesfield—is one of the 28 electoral wards in City of Sheffield, England. It is located in the northern part of the city and covers an area of 3.8 square miles (9.8 km2) in the eastern part of Ecclesfield Parish. The population of this ward in 2011 was 18,295 people in 7,863. East Ecclesfield is one of the six wards that make up the Sheffield Hillsborough Parliamentary constituency. The Boundary Commission for England, in their final report, recommended that East Ecclesfield should become part of a reformed Penistone and Stocksbridge constituency. The East Ecclesfield ward is composed of eight polling districts. These include Blackburn, Chapeltown, Ecclesfield, Ecclesfield Common, High Greave, Horbury, Warren and Wheata.
