Clarke Stadium

Commonwealth Stadium is an open-air, multipurpose stadium located in the McCauley neighbourhood of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It has a seating capacity of 56,302, making it the largest open-air stadium in Canada. Primarily used for Canadian football, it also hosts athletics, soccer, rugby union and concerts. Construction commenced in 1975 and the venue opened ahead of the 1978 Commonwealth Games (hence its name), replacing the adjacent Clarke Stadium as the home of the Edmonton Eskimos (the Elks' name until 2020). It received a major expansion ahead of the 1983 Summer Universiade, when it reached a capacity of 60,081. Its main tenants are the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL), and has hosted five Grey Cups, the CFL's championship game. The stadium had remained the only CFL venue with natural grass for a long time, until FieldTurf Duraspine Pro was installed in 2010. Soccer tournaments include nine FIFA World Cup qualification matches with Canada Men's National Soccer Team, two versions of the invitational Canada Cup, the 1996 CONCACAF Men's Pre-Olympic Tournament, the 2002 FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship and the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. FC Edmonton played its Canadian Championship matches at Commonwealth Stadium from 2011 to 2013. Other events at the stadium include the 2001 World Championships in Athletics, the 2006 Women's Rugby World Cup and three editions of the Churchill Cup.

Stadium station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves the Capital Line. It is a ground-level station located at 111 Avenue and 84 Street, next to Commonwealth Stadium and Clarke Stadium.

Latta Bridge is a road bridge in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It carries Jasper Avenue over the Latta Ravine, between 90 Street and 91 Street. The original bridge, a wooden trestle, was constructed in 1911, by its namesake, David Latta, who was a businessman and an alderman in Edmonton. A second bridge was built in 1936. Due to the Great Depression, it was built using low wage earners and a lot of recycled materials, including components left over from the construction of the nearby High Level Bridge. In December 2019, a report recommended that the bridge be replaced because it had reached the end of its useful life. Construction on the new bridge started in the summer of 2022, and opened on October 29, 2023.

The Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples is a Roman Catholic church in Edmonton, Alberta. Opened as the Sacred Heart Church in 1913 to serve the city's rapidly growing population, Sacred Heart has been a historic "nursery" for many of Edmonton's immigrant Catholic parishes. In 1991, facing an aging congregation and declining weekly attendance, the parish's inner-city location was seen as an opportunity to serve Edmonton's growing urban Indigenous population. On October 27 of that year, the Archdiocese of Edmonton's Native Pastoral Centre was moved into Sacred Heart as Archbishop Joseph MacNeil declared the church to be a First Nations, Métis, and Inuit national parish, the first of its kind in Canada.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (also Edmonton Fire and Rescue Services) is the fire department for the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Edmonton Fire Department began as a volunteer fire corps in 1891 and the first full department was created in 1906.

St. Josaphat Cathedral is a Ukrainian Catholic cathedral in McCauley, Edmonton, Alberta, one of the best examples of Byzantine Rite church architecture in Canada. It is the seat of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton, and has been a cathedral (the seat of a bishop) since 1948. Occupying 18 city lots in the McCauley neighbourhood, the cathedral has been recognized for its heritage significance and "is distinguished by it seven domes, columned entry portico, and red brick veneer embellished with darker brick pilasters and inlaid cream coloured crosses.

Edmonton-Gold Bar is a provincial electoral district, in Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 in the province mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The district is primarily urban and located in the central east portion of city of Edmonton. It was created in the 1971 boundary redistribution from part of Strathcona East. In addition to its namesake neighborhood of Gold Bar, the riding also contains the neighborhoods of Capilano, Fulton Place, Terrace Heights, Forest Heights, Ottewell, Kenilworth, Holyrood, Avonmore, King Edward Park, Cloverdale, Bonnie Doon, Idylwylde & Strathearn. The district is currently represented by Marlin Schmidt of the Alberta NDP.

The Grierson Centre, also known as Grierson Institution, is a minimum security prison and historic site in Downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The institution is operated by the Correctional Service of Canada.The Grierson Centre originally served as the North-West Mounted Police's Divisional headquarters in Edmonton upon its completion in 1912. Prior to 1912, the detachment was stationed in Fort Saskatchewan for a period of 34 years before moving to the growing City of Edmonton. The barracks, as designed by architect Roland Lines, were completed at a cost of CA$70,000 and included stables and ten cells within the complex.One of the buildings in the Grierson Centre, former RCMP Centre Building 3, was designated a Recognized Federal Heritage Building on January 17, 1985. The compound was expanded in 1936 and again in 1957 to meet the growing needs of the RCMP detachment. In 1975 the RCMP would vacate the site, and the property would fall into the use of Correctional Service of Canada.

The Edmonton provincial electoral district also known as Edmonton City from 1905 to 1909, was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada mandated to return members to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1905 to 1917 and again from 1921 to 1959.The Edmonton electoral district existed in two incarnations from 1905 - 1909 and again from 1921 - 1955, with the city (small as it was in former times) broken up into separate single-member constituencies in the other time-periods. The district was created when Alberta became a province, to encompass residents of the city of Edmonton on the northside of the North Saskatchewan River. The Edmonton district was extended to the southside of the river in 1921, By that time, the southside City of Strathcona had merged into the City of Edmonton. From 1909 to 1913 and from 1921 to 1956, the Edmonton provincial constituency elected multiple members. In 1909 and 1913, Edmonton voters could cast up to two votes each (the same number as there were seats). In 1921 they could cast up to five votes (the same number as there were seats). Edmonton used Single transferable voting in general elections held between 1926 and 1955, where each voter cast one transferable vote. In the province's history, there were three multi-member districts, the other ones being Calgary and Medicine Hat.

Quarters stop is a tram stop under construction in the Edmonton Light Rail Transit network in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It will serve the Valley Line, and is located on the south side 102 Avenue, west of 96 Street, in Boyle Street. The stop is scheduled to open in 2022.
