Kalundborg (Danish: [kʰælɔnˈpɒˀ]) is a Danish city with a population of 16,558 (1 January 2024), the main town of the municipality of the same name and the site of its municipal council. It is situated on the northwestern coast of the largest Danish island, Zealand (or Sjælland in Danish), on the opposite, eastern side of which lies the capital Copenhagen, 110 km (68 mi) away. Kalundborg is famous as the location of a large broadcasting facility, the Kalundborg Transmitter. The city was also home to the largest coal-fired power station in Denmark, the Asnæs Power Station, which started its transition to biomass in 2017. Kalundborg is mainly a trading and industrial town, but is also well known for its five-spired Church of Our Lady, which is closely associated with King Valdemar I and the Archbishop Absalon. The church itself is said to have been built by Absalon's brother, Esbern Snare. Kalundborg is also the traditional seat of the aristocratic Lerche family. Their stately home, Lerchenborg, the best example of rococo architecture in Denmark, can be seen in the town's outskirts. Ferries connect Kalundborg westward to the island of Samsø.

Kalundborg Gymnasium (Danish: Kalundborg Gymnasium og HF) is a municipal gymnasium in Kalundborg Municipality, Denmark. Established on 12 August 1957 as a high school, the first rector was R. Stig Hansen. As of October 2011, the rector is Peter Abildgaard Andersen, who has held the position since August 2006. In 1963 a wing was built with new classrooms, specialist classrooms and an assembly hall, which today is the canteen. In 1976 the school was expanded with new wings containing classrooms, chemistry rooms, music rooms, a new assembly hall, auditorium, stage and library. In 2001 a new wing was added with 4 large classrooms and open study areas. In 2003 the canteen kitchen was completely renovated and in 2004 new chairs and tables were added in the cafeteria area. The gymnasium has approximately 700 students, 24 classes and about 70 teachers. It offers degree programs in science, language, music and social studies. In the first week of October 2007, it hosted the annual Euro Week.

The Church of Our Lady (Vor Frue Kirke, Kalundborg) is a historical building at Kalundborg in northwestern Zealand, Denmark. The precise date of construction is not known with any certainty, though its architecture indicates the early part of the 13th century. With its five distinctive towers, it stands on a hill above the harbour, making it the town's most imposing landmark.

Kalundborg railway station (Danish: Kalundborg Station or Kalundborg Banegård) is the main railway station serving the town of Kalundborg in northwestern Zealand, Denmark. It is located in the centre of the town, close to the Port of Kalundborg, and immediately adjacent to the Kalundborg bus station and Kalundborg ferry terminal. Kalundborg station is located on the main line Northwest Line from Roskilde to Kalundborg. The station opened in 1874, and its second and current station building designed by the architect Ole Ejnar Bonding was inaugurated in 1960. It offers direct regional rail services to Holbæk, Roskilde and Copenhagen operated by the national railway company DSB.

Kalundborg Municipality (Danish: Kalundborg Kommune) is a kommune in the Region Sjælland on the west coast of the island of Zealand in Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 604 km2 (233 sq mi), and has a total population of 48,309 (1. January 2024). Its mayor is Martin Damm, a member of Venstre. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the city of Kalundborg. The municipality is surrounded by water on three sides: Samsø Bælt— the strait which separates the municipality from the island of Samsø— and Sejerø Bay (Sejerø Bugt) — the bay in which the island of Sejerø is located) to the north The Great Belt (Storebælt)— the strait which separates Zealand from the island of Funen) and the Kattegat to the west Jammerland Bay (Jammerland Bugt) to the south. The municipalities of Samsø to the northwest, and Juelsminde on the Jutland peninsula to the west are thus also Kalundborg's municipal neighbors, albeit separated by water. Ferry lines connect the municipality to Aarhus on the Jutland peninsula, and to the island of Samsø at the central harbour in Kalundborg. The harbour is conveniently located near the Kalundborg train station, which connects to the cities of Holbæk and Copenhagen. A large industrial zone, including a South Harbour?, is located south of the town's central area. On January 1, 2007 Kalundborg municipality was, as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), merged with existing Gørlev, Hvidebæk, Bjergsted, and Høng municipalities to form the new Kalundborg municipality.

Kalundborg Radio was a major transmission facility for long- and mediumwave at the harbour of Kalundborg in Denmark. Longwave broadcasts on 243 kHz began on 27 August 1927 and ceased on 31 December 2023. Mediumwave broadcasts on 1062 kHz began on 1 October 1951 and ceased in June 2011.

The Asnæs Power Station (Danish: Asnæsværket) is a woodchip power plant operated by Ørsted A/S in Kalundborg, Denmark. It consists of three active units, which deliver 147 MW (Unit 2), 270 MW (Unit 4) and 640 MW (Unit 5). Unit 3 went in service in 1959 and uses a 152.1-metre-tall (499 ft) flue gas stack, while Unit 5, which went into service in 1981, uses a 220.1-metre-tall (722 ft) flue gas stack, the third tallest in Denmark. Its two 60m high coal cranes were dismantled in 2016.

Kalundborg Eco-Industrial Park is an industrial symbiosis network located in Kalundborg, Denmark, in which companies in the region collaborate to use each other's by-products and otherwise share resources. The Kalundborg Eco-Industrial Park is the first full realization of industrial symbiosis. The collaboration and its environmental implications arose unintentionally through private initiatives, as opposed to government planning, making it a model for private planning of eco-industrial parks. At the center of the exchange network is the Asnæs Power Station, a 1500MW coal-fired power plant, which has material and energy links with the community and several other companies. Surplus heat from this power plant is used to heat 3500 local homes in addition to a nearby fish farm, whose sludge is then sold as a fertilizer. Steam from the power plant is sold to Novo Nordisk, a pharmaceutical and enzyme manufacturer, in addition to Statoil oil refinery. This reuse of heat reduces the amount thermal pollution discharged to a nearby fjord. Additionally, a by-product from the power plant's sulfur dioxide scrubber contains gypsum, which is sold to a wallboard manufacturer. Almost all of the manufacturer's gypsum needs are met this way, which reduces the amount of open-pit mining needed. Furthermore, fly ash and clinker from the power plant is used for road building and cement production. These exchanges of waste, water and materials have greatly increased environmental and economic efficiency, as well as created other less tangible benefits for these actors, including sharing of personnel, equipment, and information.

Lerchenborg is a manor house located 4 km south of Kalundborg on the west coast of Zealand, Denmark.

Birkendegård is a manor house and estate located 6 km east of Kalundborg. The two-storey, Renaissance Revival style main building is from 1954 and was designed by Christian Tybjerg.

Until 1 January 2007 Hvidebæk was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in West Zealand County on the west coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 98,26 km2, and had a total population of 5,492 (2005). Its last mayor was Henning Fougt, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Ubby. Hvidebæk municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Bjergsted, Gørlev, Høng, and Kalundborg municipalities to form the new Kalundborg municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 598 km2 and a total population of 48,697 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Sjælland ("Zealand Region").

Kalundborg Airfield, also called Kaldred Airfield, is an airfield located in Kaldred, right next to Saltbæk Vig approx. 15 km (9.3 mi) outside Kalundborg. The airfield has a 699 meter long and 18 meter wide paved east/west facing runway as well as grass runways north and south of the paved runway. Kalundborg Airfield is primarily used by the glider clubs Kalundborg Flyveklub and Polyteknisk Flyvegruppe. The first flight in Denmark with an electric plane took place in 2019 from Kalundborg Airfield.
