The Odiel (Spanish: Río Odiel) is a river in the Atlantic basin in southern Spain, more precisely in the province of Huelva, Andalusia. It originates at Marimateos in the Sierra de Aracena at an elevation of 660 metres (2,170 ft) above sea level. At the Punta del Sebo, it joins the Rio Tinto to form the Huelva Estuary. Its principal tributaries are the Escalada, Meca, Olivargas, Oraque, Santa Eulalia, and El Villar. Its basin covers 990 square kilometres (380 sq mi). In Roman times it was known as the Urius, although some scholars have proposed to identify the Odiel with another ancient name normally associated with the Río Tinto (Luxia). Even before the Romans, its mouth was an important place of commerce, as can be seen by archaeological remnants from Phoenicians and Ancient Greeks, known as the "Huelva Estuary Deposit" (Spanish: Depósito de la Ría de Huelva), dated 1000 BCE.

The Rio Tinto Pier (Spanish: Muelle de Rio Tinto) was a commercial pier formerly used for the trade of material from the mines of the Rio Tinto Company in Andalusia, Spain. It is situated on the River Odiel in the city of Huelva. An estimated 150 million tons of ore were shipped from the pier over its life. Closed in 1975, it is now a popular tourist attraction and fishing spot. The pier is 1165 meters long, although part of that is built on reclaimed marshland.

La Rábida High School is a public educational center located in the city of Huelva, Andalusia, Spain. It is the Institute with more history in all the Province, taking more than 160 years. In addition, the Institute is considered a benchmark in education throughout the province. The teaching center has a staff of 60 teachers and more than 1000 students enrolled.

Hotel París, also Casa de la Bola, is a hotel in Huelva, Spain. It is located in the heart of the capital and in the rear of the Palace of the Duke of Medina-Sidonia. It was commissioned by Antonio García Ramos and architect Francisco Monís y Morales in 1907. Monís designed a building divided into two independent sectors. The number 1 building was designed as for homes and businesses while the number 2 as the hotel itself. The facade contains elements of both classical and modernist styles. In 2009 the Number 1 building was completely rebuilt, retaining only the original facade and adding two floors as an annex building. Today the building serves as an exhibition centre in the Provincial Council of Huelva while the second is aimed at commercial premises.

Estadio Nuevo Colombino is a multi-purpose stadium in Huelva, Spain. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Recreativo de Huelva. Football was first introduced to Spain in Huelva and it still hosts the annual Trofeo Colombino, one of the traditional curtain-raisers to the Spanish football season. With a capacity of 21,670 seats, it is the 30th-largest stadium in Spain and the 6th-largest in Andalusia. Opened in November 2001, it replaced Estadio Colombino.Estadio Nuevo Colombino hosted a Spain international match on 15 November 2014, a European Championship Qualifying match against Belarus.

Huelva (US: , Spanish: [ˈwelβa]) is a city in southwestern Spain, the capital of the province of Huelva in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is between two short rias though has an outlying spur including nature reserve on the Gulf of Cádiz coast. The rias are of the Odiel and Tinto rivers and are good natural harbors. According to the 2010 census, the city had a population of 149,410. Huelva is home to Recreativo de Huelva, the oldest football club in Spain. While the existence of a pre-Phoenician settlement within the current urban limits since circa 1250 BC has been tentatively defended by scholars, Phoenicians established a stable colony roughly by the 9th century BC.

The naval Battle of Saltes Island or Battle of Saltes (Spanish: Batalla de la Isla Saltés) took place on 17 July 1381, off Saltes Island, between the Crown of Castile and the Kingdom of Portugal during the Third Ferdinand War. The Castilian fleet commanded by Don Fernando Sánchez de Tovar defeated decisively the Portuguese fleet led by João Afonso Telo. The result of the battle was the destruction of the naval offensive capability of Portugal, achieving the Castilian naval supremacy in the Atlantic Ocean.
