Lejre railway station

Lejre is a railway town, with a population of 3,127 (1 January 2022), in Lejre Municipality (Danish: Lejre Kommune) on the island of Zealand in east Denmark. It belongs to Region Zealand. The town's Old Norse name was Hleiðr or Hleiðargarðr.

Lejre Municipality is a municipality in Region Zealand. The current municipality was established on 1 January 2007 as a result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), merging the former Lejre Municipality with Bramsnæs Municipality and Hvalsø Municipality to form a new Lejre Municipality. 28 September 2016 Carsten Rasmussen took over as mayor from Mette Touborg, who was leaving for a new job. She had been the mayor since 1 January 2010. She was the only one from the left wing Socialist People's Party to hold the highest political position in a municipality, whereas he is from the Social Democrats. Local companies include the chocolate manufacturer Friis-Holm.

Lejre Stadion is a football stadium that belongs to Danish Association football club FC Lejre. Lejre Stadion has a capacity of 5,300 and was built in 1989. The match with the highest attendance was in 2008, when 4,908 spectators saw the match between FC Lejre and FC Nordsjælland.

Ledreborg is a palatial mansion near Lejre, 12 km (7.5 mi) to the southwest of Roskilde on the Danish island of Zealand. Today's Baroque building was completed in 1746 by Minister of State Johan Ludvig Holstein (1694–1763) who commissioned J.C. Krieger to carry out the work.

Dellinge Watermill is a watermill situated on the Ledreborg estate, in Lejre Municipality, some 30 kilometres west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was powered by a tributary of Kornerup Å.

Land of Legends, Centre for Historical-Archaeological Research and Communication (Danish: Sagnlandet Lejre) is a 106-acre (43 hectare) archaeological open-air museum situated in the Lejre Municipality, few kilometres west of Roskilde, Denmark.

Osted is a town with a population of 2,204 (1 January 2022) in Lejre Municipality, Region Zealand, Denmark. The town is located at the road between the cities of Roskilde and Ringsted.

Hule Mill Farm (Danish: Hule Møllegård) is a watermill situated a few kilometres to the southwest of Ledreborg, in Lejre Municipality, some 30 kilometres west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was powered by a tributary of Kornerup Å. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1986.

Gevninge is a village, with a population of 1,652 (1 January 2023), in Lejre Municipality on the island of Zealand in Denmark. Its old section is located alongside a small river, Lejre Å, approximately 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from its mouth at Roskilde Fjord.

Øm is a village with a population of 451 (1 January 2022) in Lejre Municipality, located six kilometers southwest of Roskilde on the island of Zealand in Denmark.

Lindholm is a manor house and estate located in Lejre Municipality, between Roskilde and Tølløse, some 30 kilometres west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It has been owned by members of the von Plassen family since 1728 and is now part of the Londholm-Selsø estate.. Lindholm's home farm (avlsgård) is operated under the name Farm of Ideas in collaboration with the chef Christian Puglisi. It is used as a venue for various gastronomy and sustainability related events and delivers fresh produce for his restaurants in Copenhagen.

Svogerslev is a small satellite town located four kilometres west of Roskilde, Denmark. The original village features a village pond, a Romanesque church, one of the smallest in Denmark, and a number of old farm buildings. The historic centre is surrounded by large developments of single family detached homes. As of 1 January 2023, it had a population of 4,362.
