Favrholm railway station

Hillerød station (Danish pronunciation: [ˈhiləˌʁœðˀ stæˈɕoˀn]) is a railway station serving the city of Hillerød north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the terminus of four railways lines: An S-train line (Nordbanen) from Copenhagen, operated by DSB Frederiksværkbanen, operated by Lokaltog Gribskovbanen, operated by Lokaltog Lille Nord towards Helsingør, operated by LokaltogThough there are track connections between the four railways, they are seldom used; each has its own dedicated dead-end platform tracks. The bus terminal in front of the station is a major hub for transportation throughout northeastern Zealand.

Carlsberg (also spelled Karlsberg), formerly known as the Fishing Master's House (Danish: Fiskemesterhuset), is a house and former estate located on Københavnsvej at the southeastern entrance to Hillerød, Denmark. The property traces its history back to the first half of the 18th century but the current two residential units building was constructed in the 1750s. A number of artists have resided in the building in the late 19th and early 20th century, including Viggo Pedersen and Niels Skovgaard. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1949. The nearby road Carlsbergvej is named after the property.

Frederiksborg Latin School (Danish: Frederiksborg Latinskole) is a former latin school in Hillerød, Denmark. The school changed its name to Frederiksborg State School (Danish: Frederiksborg Statsskole) in 1903. The school moved to new premises in 1958 and is now called Frederiksborg Gymnasium. Its old building at Søndre Jernbanevej 4A was built to a Neoclassical design by Jørgen Hansen Koch in 1836. It was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1945.

Pharmakon—Danish College of Pharmacy Practice (Danish: Farmakonomskolen Pharmakon) is a university college situated in the city of Hillerød on the island of Zealand in Denmark. The Danish College of Pharmacy Practice is a tertiary educational institution of pharmaceutical sciences that offers the higher education programme of pharmaconomy. Each year, approximately 220 high school graduates with special skills are allowed to begin the studies of pharmaconomy as pharmaconomist students at The Danish College of Pharmacy Practice. With about 602 pharmaconomy students, Pharmakon—Danish College of Pharmacy Practice is the only college in Denmark (including Greenland and Faroe Islands) to offer the pharmaconomist education programme.

Hillerød Rectory (Danish: Hillerød Præstegård) is located close to the central market square in Hillerød, Denmark. The building owes its current appearance to a comprehensive renovation from the 1860s but it stands on a vaulted cellar from the 17th century. A plaque above the main entrance commemorates that Peder Hersleb lived in the building from 1718 to 1724. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1979.

Frederiksborg Amt (English: Frederiksborg County) is a former county (Danish: amt) in the north of the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. Effective January 1, 2007, the county was abolished and merged into Region Hovedstaden (i.e. Copenhagen Capital Region).

Hillerød (Danish pronunciation: [ˈhiləˌʁœðˀ]) is a Danish town with a population of 36,043 (1 January 2023) located in the centre of North Zealand approximately 30 km to the north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Hillerød is the administrative centre of Hillerød Municipality and also the administrative seat of Region Hovedstaden (Capital Region of Denmark), one of the five regions in Denmark. It is most known for its large Renaissance castle, Frederiksborg Castle, now home to the Museum of National History. Hillerød station is the terminus of one of the radials of the S-train network as well as several local railway lines. The town is surrounded by the former royal forests of Gribskov to the north and Store Dyrehave to the south.

Hillerød Kommune is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region"). The municipality covers an area of 212.99 km² (82.24 sq. miles), and has a total population of 54,159 (1. January 2023). The mayor of the municipality as of 1 January 2018 is Kirsten Jensen, a member of the Social Democratic political party.

Slotsarkaderne (usually styled SlotsArkaderne) is a shopping centre located in Hillerød, Denmark. It has an area of 24,000 m2 (260,000 sq ft) and contains 60 stores.

Batzke's House (Danish: Batzkes Hus) is the former gardener's house at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, Denmark. It was built on a hilltop near the castle in 1720 to a design by Johan Cornelius Krieger. It was listed in 1924.

Frederiksborg Castle (Danish: Frederiksborg Slot) is a palatial complex in Hillerød, Denmark. It was built as a royal residence for King Christian IV of Denmark-Norway in the early 17th century, replacing an older castle acquired by Frederick II and becoming the largest Renaissance residence in Scandinavia. On three islets in the Slotssøen (castle lake), it is adjoined by a large formal garden in the Baroque style. After a serious fire in 1859, the castle was rebuilt on the basis of old plans and paintings. Thanks to public support and the brewer J. C. Jacobsen, its apartments were fully restored and reopened to the public as the Danish Museum of National History in 1882. Open throughout the year, the museum contains the largest collection of portrait paintings in Denmark. It also provides visitors with an opportunity to visit several of the castle's state rooms including the restored Valdemar Room and Great Hall as well as the Chapel and the Audience Chamber which were both largely spared by the fire and contain sumptuous decorations. While there was renovation, a fire truck was permanently parked in the castle.

Favrholm is a former manor located on the southern outskirts of Hillerød, Denmark. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1964. It was acquired by Novo Nordisk in 1995 and converted into a corporate training and conference centre. It was expanded with the assistance of Dutch architects SeATCH in 2005–11 and is now operated under the name Favrholm Campus.
