Midleton Library

Midleton (; Irish: Mainistir na Corann, meaning "monastery at the weir") is a town in south-eastern County Cork, Ireland. It lies approximately 16 km east of Cork City on the Owenacurra River and the N25 road, which connects Cork to the port of Rosslare. A satellite town of Cork City, Midleton is part of Metropolitan Cork. It is the central hub of business for the East Cork Area. Midleton is within the Cork East Dáil constituency.

Midleton College is an independent co-educational boarding and day school in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland. In past centuries it has also been called Midleton School. Although founded in 1696, the school did not open until 1717. It went through a period of inactivity early in the 19th century, and by the 1860s had low numbers, but was reinvigorated by a new principal and by the end of the 1870s was one of Ireland's leading schools. Originally for boys only, it is now co-educational. The school has a strong Church of Ireland tradition, and its chaplain is also priest-in-charge of the neighbouring Youghal Union of parishes.

The Midleton distilleries complex is situated in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland. Established in 1975 and owned by Irish Distillers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. Located alongside is the Old Midleton Distillery, which was established in the early 17th century and now operates as a visitor centre known as the Jameson Experience.

The Jameson Experience, Midleton, (also known as the Old Midleton Distillery) is an Irish whiskey museum and visitor centre located in the Old Midleton Distillery in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland. Set over 15 acres, since opening as a visitor's centre in 1992, the old distillery has received approximately 100,000 guests per year, receiving 125,000 in 2015.The Old Midleton Distillery in which the Jameson Experience is located began life as a woollen mill, before being converted to a military barracks and subsequently a distillery in 1825. The distillery operated until 1975, when a new distillery was constructed alongside it to house the consolidated operations of three former whiskey-making rivals, John Jameson & Son, John Powers & Son, and Cork Distilleries Company (owners of the Midlelton Distillery), who had come together to form Irish Distillers in 1966. It now houses a visitor centre, a restaurant, and a gift shop.

St Colman's Community College is a second-level school located in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland. There are approximately 90 teachers and 1020 students in St Colmans Community College. The school has many facilities, including twenty four General classrooms a music room, four woodwork and three Engineering rooms, three technical graphics rooms,three home economics kitchens, six science rooms, three computer rooms, two Art rooms, a Learning Hub, sports facilities, including two sportshalls, basketball courts, and a GAA pitch. The school is involved in many projects, such as Sci-Fest, PsychSlam, Model UN Green Schools, Clean Coasts, An Gaisce Award, The Amber Group, The principal is Máirín Lally . The school is a member of Cork Education Training Board CETB.

Midleton Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Midleton in County Cork, Ireland. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA.

Midleton railway station is a railway station situated in Midleton, a town in south-eastern County Cork, in Ireland. It is the terminus station on the Cork to Midleton commuter service. Passengers can travel to Glounthaune station to transfer to Cobh.It has been rebuilt and reopened as a terminus station of the Cork Suburban Railway Line. The station currently has 2 platforms. There is a train operating by the hour from the station.

Kindred Spirits is a large stainless steel outdoor sculpture in Bailick Park in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland.Kindred Spirits commemorates the 1847 donation by the Native American Choctaw People to Irish famine relief during the Great Hunger, despite the Choctaw themselves living in hardship and poverty and having recently endured the Trail of Tears. While records of the exact amount of the donation vary, the figure usually given is US$170 (about $5,300 in 2022 inflation-adjusted dollars, though some methods indicate it could have been as high as $20,000 in 2015 dollars). In the U.S. coinage of the time, U.S.$170 meant 8.22 troy ounces of physical gold, or about US$14,000 in 2020 prices.The sculpture consists of nine 20-foot (6.1 m) stainless steel eagle feathers arranged in a circle, no two feathers being identical, forming a bowl shape to represent a gift of a bowl of food. It was created by Alex Pentek at the Sculpture Factory in Cork, Ireland, with assistance from students of the Crawford College of Art and Design, and installed in Bailick Park in 2015. The memorial was commissioned by Midleton Town Council, and was officially unveiled and dedicated in June 2017 by Chief Gary Batton, Chief of the Choctaw Nation, Assistant Chief Jack Austin Jr., and Councillor Seamus McGrath, County Mayor of Cork, accompanied by a 20-strong delegation from the Choctaw Nation.

Hackett's Distillery was an Irish whiskey distillery which operated in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland between 1824 and circa 1845.

Midleton Football Club is an Irish association football (soccer) club based in Midleton, County Cork. Their senior men's team currently plays in the Senior Premier Division of the Munster Senior League.

Ballinacurra (Irish: Baile na Cora, meaning 'town of the weir') is a small harbour village on the outskirts of Midleton, County Cork. It is about 18 km south east of Cork city. The village lies at the confluence of the Owenacurra River and the east channel of Cork Harbour. It served as the port for the town of Midleton, which is less than 2 km north of Ballinacurra, for centuries and became a loading and unloading point for coal, timber, iron and slate and later flax for the linen industry.The port of Ballinacurra closed in 1962 as it was deemed too expensive to dredge the growing levels of silt and mud at the entrance to the small harbour. It is now used mainly for small leisure boats. The man who is believed to have discovered Antarctica in 1820, Edward Bransfield, was born and raised in Ballinacurra.

Water-rock (Irish: Carraig an Uisce) is a townland in the historical barony of Barrymore in County Cork, Ireland. Located in East Cork, near Midleton, the townland has an area of approximately 1.2 square kilometres (0.5 sq mi). While, at the time of the 2011 census, Water-rock had a population of 128 people, in 2015 Cork County Council published a plan for "significant" residential development in the area. The "Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy 2040" (CMATS), a public consultation document published in 2019 by the National Transport Authority, listed Water-rock as one of several potential locations for a future Cork Suburban Rail station. As of late 2022, Cork Corporation had reportedly commenced some road and water infrastructure works in the area. Waterrock golf course closed in 2020.
