Rathmore (Irish: An Ráth Mhór, meaning 'big ringfort') is a small town in County Kerry, Ireland, lying immediately west of the border with County Cork. It is divided in two parts, one being the main commercial centre, and the other being the administrative centre where the schools and churches are located which is colloquially known as Rath Beg (Irish: An Ráth Bheag, meaning 'small ringfort'). It lies at the heart of the Sliabh Luachra area known for its traditional Irish music and culture. The local Gaelic Athletic Association club is Rathmore GAA. The SAG (social action group) is in Rathmore and helps the elderly in the area. The town hosts the farmer's market every Saturday in the community centre.

Rathmore is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Rathmore, County Kerry, Ireland. Together with 12 other football clubs (Cordal, Dr. Crokes, Currow, Firies, Fossa, Glenflesk, Gneeveguilla, Kilcummin, Legion, Listry, Rathmore, Scartaglin and Spa) they form the East Kerry Division of the GAA county of Kerry. Notable players include Paul Murphy, Shane Ryan, Aidan O'Mahony. Rathmore offer Hurling as well, but they do not play above intermediate level. They play in the Kerry Senior Football Championship. Rathmore GAA was founded in 1888. Their original colours were green. Their former residence was known as the "lawn". The East Kerry board runs its own competitions for clubs within the division. The most important is the O'Donoghue Cup which is awarded to the winners of the East Kerry Senior Football Championship. In 1963 they became the first rural club to win the championship. The club once played in the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship, making it to the final in 1932 but lost out to Causeway in the final. Now hurling is played at under-age level and in 2022 Rathmore will field a team in the Kerry County Junior Championship.

Gneeveguilla ( g-NEEV-guilla, locally pronounced guinea-guilla), officially Gneevgullia (Irish: Gníomh go Leith), is a small village in the Sliabh Luachra region of East County Kerry, Ireland. It lies about 19 km (12 mi) east of Killarney, close to the County Kerry/County Cork border.

Gneeveguilla are a Gaelic football team from County Kerry, Ireland. They play in the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship, Kerry County Football League (Division 1) and the East Kerry Senior Football Championship. The club was founded in 1960. Its facilities include a bar, meeting rooms, office, kitchen, gym and dressing rooms. The hall received renovations and extensions in late 2013. The club has won several county and provincial titles, and reached the All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship final in 2022. Club member Ambrose O'Donovan was captain of the Kerry team which won the Centenary All-Ireland in 1984.

Ballydesmond (Irish: Baile Deasumhan), formerly Kingwilliamstown, is a rural village in County Cork, Ireland. It lies on the Blackwater River (near its source in Menganine) on the Cork–Kerry border. The Ballydesmond quarry is an area of geological interest, containing the best example of tundra forest polygons found in Ireland. It is located at the junction of the R577 and R578 regional roads.

Cullen (Irish: Cuillinn) is a small village and civil parish in County Cork, Ireland, situated north west of Millstreet town, in the barony of Duhallow. It is about four miles east of the Kerry border and Rathmore village. St. Laitiaran's Well can be found in the area. Cullen is within the Dáil constituency of Cork North-West. The local Gaelic Athletic Association club, Cullen GAA, fields Gaelic football teams in the Duhallow divisional competitions. The former Minister for Education, Batt O'Keeffe, and poet and academic Bernard O'Donoghue are from the area. The Cullen Pipe Band, founded in the 1940s and based in the village, has participated in national and international competitions.

Kiskeam or Kishkeam (Irish: Coiscéim na Caillí) is a village in north-west County Cork, Ireland. It is in the civil parish of Kilmeen in the historical barony of Duhallow. Kiskeam is within the Cork North-West Dáil constituency. It is around 35 km west of Mallow, and 55 km north-west of Cork city.

Knockacarracoush or Knockacarracoosh (Irish: Cnoc an Chearrbhachais) is a small townland situated in north County Cork, Ireland, west of Kanturk and north of Millstreet. It is in the parish of Dromtarriff and also borders the parishes of Cullen and Boherbue. It has 14 inhabitants and consists of three farms and four houses.

Glenflesk (Irish: Gleann Fleisce) is a small village in County Kerry, Ireland. It is located on the N22 national primary route between Cork and Killarney.The local Roman Catholic church is dedicated to Saint Agatha and was built c. 1860. Glenflesk is in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kerry. Glenflesk National School is a co-educational primary (national) school which had 34 pupils enrolled as of the 2020 school year. The local Gaelic Athletic Association club, Glenflesk GAA, fields Gaelic football teams in the East Kerry Division.

Glenlara GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the rural area of Taur, Newmarket, County Cork, Ireland. The club plays Gaelic football in the Duhallow division competitions. Glenlara GAA Club was founded in 1939 by D.A. Daly, P.Shine and R O'Keeffe. Other clubs in the Glenlara area include Newmarket, Boherbue and Kiskeam. In recent years Glenlara GAA have established a permanent home at the old school in Glashykinleen which is central to Taur and Glenlara area. The old Glashykinleen school is now their changing rooms and they have developed a playing pitch adjacent to this. Glenlara won the Duhallow Junior B Football Championship Final Group 2 in 2011 and again in 2013.
