The Philadelphia Art Alliance at University of the Arts is a multidisciplinary arts center located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. It is the oldest multidisciplinary arts center in the United States for visual, literary and performing arts.

Plays and Players Theatre, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is one of the oldest professional theater companies in the United States, founded in 1911. The theater building was designed and constructed in 1912 by Philadelphia architect Amos W. Barnes as a dramatic school, but soon was used as a theater for Broadway try-outs, known as the Playhouse. The theater company Plays and Players bought the building in 1922 and has performed there ever since. Murals were added in 1923 by the American artist Edith Emerson.

The Civil War Museum of Philadelphia (formerly the Civil War and Underground Railroad Museum of Philadelphia and previously the Civil War Library and Museum) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, claims to be the oldest chartered American Civil War institution in the United States. The museum was founded in 1888 by veteran officers of the Union Army, Navy and Marine Corps. In 2008, the museum closed to the public in anticipation of a move to other quarters. In June 2016 the museum announced that ownership of its collection of about 3,000 artifacts will be transferred to the Gettysburg Foundation, "the non-profit partner of the National Park Service at Gettysburg." Artifacts from the collection will continue to be displayed in Philadelphia at the National Constitution Center. Books, archives and other two-dimensional material will continue to be owned by the Civil War Museum and are available to researchers at the Heritage Center of the Union League of Philadelphia.While closed, the collection were stored at the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center, where material from the collection was displayed 2013–2015.

The Barclay Hotel was located at 237 S. 18th St. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Rittenhouse Square. Opened in October 1929, it was, at one time, the most famous hotel in the city, and was owned by the well-known developer John McShain. After a later owner went into bankruptcy in 1992, the property was sold in 1994 and was converted to condominiums. The hotel was the site of the FBI's Abscam sting operation in 1980, which exposed corruption in government. Federal agents posing as Arab sheikhs rented a suite here, where they solicited the help of local, state and federal officials.The hotel was first put up for sale in 1989 for approximately $30 million. In April 1992, owner Barclay Hotel Associates filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The property was purchased by Princeton developer Peter Marks for $4.3 million on Monday, October 31, 1994. Construction on the Barclay Condominiums was completed in 2005.

The Curtis Institute of Music is a private conservatory in Philadelphia. It offers a performance diploma, Bachelor of Music, Master of Music in opera, and a Professional Studies Certificate in opera. All students attend on full scholarship.

The Chateau Crillon Apartment House, also known as the Cohen Apartment House and the Rittenhouse 222 Apartments, is a historic high-rise building in the fashionable Rittenhouse Square section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The 27-story building was designed by architect Horace Trumbauer in the Lombardic Romanesque style and completed in 1928. The style was perhaps suggested by the newly built Shelton Hotel in New York City, designed by A. L. Harmon. There are setbacks on the 17th and 24th floors. The developer was Louis H. Cahan, who also built the Locust Street Theater building at Broad & Locust Sts., The Mitten Building (now The Philadelphia Building) at Juniper and Walnut Sts., and The Mayfair House in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places on May 6, 1982, and on February 8, 1995.

Tenth Presbyterian Church is a congregation of approximately 1,600 members located in Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Tenth is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a denomination in the Reformed (Calvinist) tradition. It is located at the southwest corner of 17th & Spruce Streets in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, in the southwestern quadrant of Center City.

The Warwick is a historic hotel in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Originally constructed in 1925 in an English Renaissance style, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places on February 8, 1995. The hotel hosted the 1944 NFL Draft, 1960 NFL Draft and 1961 NFL Draft.The building has been divided into condominiums and a hotel that has operated as the Radisson Blu Warwick Hotel in the past, but is now an independent hotel, the Warwick Hotel Rittenhouse Square.

Rittenhouse Square is a neighborhood, including a public park, in Center City Philadelphia. Rittenhouse Square often specifically refers to the park, while the neighborhood as a whole is referred to simply as Rittenhouse. The park is one of the five original open-space parks planned by William Penn and his surveyor Thomas Holme during the late 17th century. The neighborhood is among the highest-income urban neighborhoods in the country. Together with Fitler Square, the Rittenhouse neighborhood and the square comprise the Rittenhouse–Fitler Historic District. Rittenhouse Square Park is maintained by the non-profit group The Friends of Rittenhouse Square. The square cuts off 19th Street at Walnut Street and also at a half-block above Manning Street. Its boundaries are 18th Street to the east, Walnut St. to the north, Rittenhouse Square West (a north–south boundary street), and Rittenhouse Square South (an east–west boundary street), making the park approximately two short blocks on each side.

Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy, also known as the Medical Services Building, is a historic school building located in the Rittenhouse Square West neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a three-story, five-bay, "U"-shaped brown brick building in the Art Deco style. It was built in 1930 as a two-story building; a third story was added in 1939. The front facade features sculptural iron panels, sandstone carvings, and two-story brick pilasters with decorative caps. The Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy occupied the building into the late-1950s, after which it housed medical offices associated with the University of Pennsylvania. It has been converted to apartments. Notable alumni of the school included Kamala Nimbkar and Muriel Zimmerman. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The 1900 Rittenhouse Square Apartments is a historic high-rise building on Rittenhouse Square in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built 1923–1926.The 190 foot (58 m) tall, 19-story building has been converted to condominiums. 1900 Rittenhouse Square was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It was listed on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places on January 7, 1982, and February 8, 1995.

Horace Jayne House (1895) is an architecturally significant building designed by architect Frank Furness in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is located at the southwest corner of 19th and Delancey Streets, about a block south of Rittenhouse Square. The Horace Jayne House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
