Japan Society is a non-profit organization formed in 1907 to promote friendly relations between the United States and Japan. Its headquarters was designed by Junzo Yoshimura and opened in 1971 at 333 East 47th Street near the United Nations. With a focus on promoting "arts and culture, public policy, business, language, and education", the organization has regularly held events in its many facilities, including a library, art gallery, and theater, since its opening. After suspending all activities during World War II, Japan Society expanded under the leadership of John D. Rockefeller III.

Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza is a 1.59-acre (0.64 ha) public park in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Manhattan, New York, United States. Located on the south side of East 47th Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue, the park was established during the late 1940s and early 1950s, when 47th Street was widened to create a landscaped approach to the headquarters of the United Nations. It was renamed after Dag Hammarskjöld, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, after his death in 1961. The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation announced plans in the early 1990s to expand the plaza, which was completed in 1999. The plaza is a frequent site of protests and demonstrations given its location near the United Nations headquarters.

Trump World Tower is a residential condominium building in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. The tower is located at 845 United Nations Plaza, on First Avenue between 47th and 48th Streets. It was developed by Donald Trump and was constructed between 1999 and 2001.

The Church of St. Boniface is a former Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 882 Second Avenue and 47th Street in Manhattan in New York City. The parish was established in 1868 and suppressed in 1950. Its records are now housed at the Church of the Holy Family.

50 United Nations Plaza is a high-rise residential building in Manhattan, New York City. The 44-story tower was designed by the architectural firm Foster and Partners, making it the first residential building in the United States designed by Norman Foster, Baron Foster of Thames Bank. It includes 87 apartments.

One Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza is a skyscraper located at 885 Second Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It is a 628 ft (191 m) tall skyscraper. It was designed by Emery Roth and developed by Lawrence Ruben. Named for Dag Hammarskjöld, it was completed in 1972 and has 49 floors. It has 750,000 square feet of floor area and is the 102nd tallest building in New York Its main usage is office space. Denmark, Turkey, Canada, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Chile, Belgium, Ireland, Austria and Sweden all have their permanent missions to the United Nations located in this building, while Norway and Belgium have consulates there. Communications company Dell Publishing is also a tenant. It is owned by Rockpoint Group, who bought the building from the Ruben Companies in 2018 for $600 million. Andy Warhol's Factory stood on the site (on 47th St) from 1963 to 1967.

The Edgar J. Kaufmann Conference Center is a conference hall on the 12th floor of 809 United Nations Plaza in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto for professor Edgar Kaufmann Jr., it is one of four remaining designs by Aalto in the United States. The conference center was announced in 1962, during the construction of the Institute of International Education (IIE)'s headquarters, and was dedicated in December 1964. After the building was sold in 1998 to a group backed by Japanese financiers, there were several unsuccessful attempts to preserve the conference center as a New York City designated landmark. The conference center includes an elevator lobby, a reception hall, and two smaller conference rooms. The 4,500-square-foot (420 m2) reception hall contains birch rods, which Aalto characterized as resembling "spaghetti", as well as a sloping ceiling. Folding partition walls divided the reception hall from the smaller conference rooms. Aalto, working with his wife Elissa, designed various pieces of furniture within the conference center, which were largely manufactured in Finland.

The United States Mission to the United Nations (USUN) serves as the United States' delegation to the United Nations. USUN is responsible for carrying out the nation's participation in the world body. In 1947, the United States Mission was created by an act of Congress to assist the President and the Department of State in conducting United States policy at the United Nations. Since that time, USUN has served a vital role as the Department of State's UN branch. Today, USUN has approximately 150 people on staff who serve to represent the United States’ political, economic and social, legal, military, public diplomacy, and management interests at the United Nations. USUN is divided into the following sections: Executive; Washington; Political; Management and Reform; Economic and Social; Legal; Military Staff; Public Affairs; Host Country; Management; and Security. The United States Mission to the United Nations is located at 799 United Nations Plaza (between East 44th and 45th streets on First Avenue) across the street from United Nations Headquarters.
