New Toronto Secondary School (New Toronto S.S., NTSS or New Toronto), formerly known as Long Branch Continuation School and New Toronto Vocational School existed from 1926 until 1983 in the old town of New Toronto, Etobicoke. This school was operated by the New Toronto Board of Education, which was then merged into the Etobicoke Board of Education and the Toronto District School Board.It was one of the first vocational schools to serve the southern area in the former City of Etobicoke. The motto of this school was "Respice Ad Finem" which translated from Latin into Keep Looking to the End.

The Lakeshore Lions Arena (Lakeshore Lions Memorial Centre) is a former ice hockey facility in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was operated in the Long Branch neighbourhood of Etobicoke by the Lakeshore Lions Club. It is the former practice facility for the Toronto Maple Leafs NHL hockey team, and the Toronto Marlies AHL farm team. The old arena was a two-storey rink built in 1951 at 300 Birmingham Street. In 2010, it was repurposed as the Humber College Arts and Media Studio. The Lions opened a new facility, called the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence, to replace the old arena in fall 2009, located northeast of the original rink, at 400 Kipling Avenue. The club spent three years on negotiations, and CA$250,000 on planning.Brian Hoskins, vice-chairman of the arena board told the Humber EtCetera, "This is a sports facility operated by a not-for-profit service club. All the profits go back to the community. We have to have professional tenants to make it work. Our primary time is occupied here by youth hockey. The Leafs are here from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. when we don't have a lot of use of it. That is why it is such a good marriage for us."

The Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital was a psychiatric hospital located in the town of New Toronto, Ontario (now part of the city of Toronto). The hospital grounds now form part of Humber College's Lakeshore Campus.

The Gatehouse is a registered charity based in the Etobicoke area of in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that treats survivors of child sexual abuse. The centre has helped more than 15,000 survivors of childhood sexual abuse since it opened in 1998.

Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School and Regional Arts Centre (also known as Father John Redmond, Father John Redmond CSS and RAC, FJRCSS, FJR, or Redmond in short) is a Catholic high school located in the New Toronto area of Etobicoke in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada operated by the Toronto Catholic District School Board (previously the Metropolitan Separate School Board) in a regional art school focus from grades 9-12. Redmond was founded in Spring of 1985 as the south campus of Etobicoke's first Catholic high school, Michael Power/St. Joseph High School, merged in 1982 and then became a separate, standard high school in 1986. The Regional Arts Program has since started in 2006. The school was named after Father John Redmond C.S.B. (1934-September 21, 1981), a teacher, coach, educator, priest, and principal of Michael Power.

The Toronto South Detention Centre is a correctional facility in the district of Etobicoke in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is a Government of Ontario-operated maximum-security correctional facility for adult male inmates serving a sentence of up to 2-years-less-a-day, and offenders who have been remanded into custody while awaiting trial. It is built on the site of the former Mimico Correctional Centre, which closed in 2011 and whose origins dated back to 1887. The Toronto South Detention Centre officially opened on January 29, 2014 replacing the Toronto Jail, the Toronto West Detention Centre, and the demolished Mimico Correctional Centre.

Colonel Samuel Smith Park is an urban park in the Etobicoke district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and a former weekend get-away destination for Victorian Torontonians. The park has a variety of attractions, including a children's playground located only steps from Lake Ontario. The park is named for Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Smith and lands were part of his property in the 1800s. The park was developed from the 1970s onwards and opened in 1996. A scenic hiking trail along a peninsula on Lake Ontario provides access to the waterfront, and to several rocky beaches with views of the lake or for birdwatching. A nearby yacht club provides opportunities for boat watching. The park offers a panoramic view of the city, with the iconic CN Tower visible on a clear day, as well as prime fishing spots and other outdoor activities. Throughout the park are observation decks, from which visitors may spot wildlife engaged in various activities, such as turtles sunning themselves on the rocks, groups of baby ducks and swans, beaver dams and even the beavers themselves. Over one hundred bird species nest in the area. There are picnic areas along the trail and on the beaches, as well as a sheltered area with tables for group gatherings on the south side of the Humber College campus adjacent to the cricket pitch. Park offers playground area with double slide and swing set a short walk from the picnic shelter. The entire family will appreciate the large field for running, jumping, a soccer game or kite flying on a windy day. Colonel Samuel Smith Park also organizes several special events in the summer, which are famous with the locals and attract visitor from near and far. The Brass in the Grass is a Lakeshore summer tradition with jazz and blues bands playing all weekend well into the night, special attractions and activities for the kids, food stands and more! A number of traveling fairs and amusement parks stop by Samuel Smith during the summer as well, especially on the long weekends. Children and parents flock from the entire southern Etobicoke for the rides, roller-coasters, carnival games, cotton candy and face painting. Parking is available on the bottom of Kipling Avenue, along Lake Shore Blvd. or on the numerous side streets in the area (some fees may apply).

Vincent Massey Junior School (Vincent Massey JS, VMJS or Massey), formerly Daisy Avenue Public School is located at 68 Daisy Avenue in the Long Branch area of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada. This school has kindergarten through grade five. The property was owned by the Toronto District School Board and was sold to a developer in 2017.

North Creek is a mostly buried watercourse that flows into Lake Ontario on the grounds of the former Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital now in Colonel Samuel Smith Park. Its mouth was at Kipling Avenue. Its headwaters were near the present day intersection of the Queen Elizabeth Way and Browns Line. Almost all the creek had been buried by 1960, but part of the creek remains and mouth now flows in an easterly direction instead of southerly into Lake Ontario. The mouth of Etobicoke Creek was approximately 2.5 km to the west of the mouth of North Creek. The mouth of Jackson Creek was approximately 700 m to the east of the mouth of North Creek.

Long Branch Racetrack was a horse-racing facility in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada. It was situated in Etobicoke, then a township, just north of the village of Long Branch and just west of the city of Toronto. It operated from 1924 until 1955 at a location west of Kipling Avenue, north of Horner Avenue and south of Evans Avenue. The track is the originator of two stakes races that are still run today - the Canadian International Stakes and the Cup and Saucer Stakes. The track opened in September 1924. It was owned by Abe Orpen and his family which also owned the Dufferin Park Racetrack in Toronto. The track was 1 mile (1.6 km) in length.

The Mimico Correctional Centre was a provincial medium-security correctional facility for adult male inmates serving a sentence of 2-years-less-a-day or less in Ontario, Canada. Its history can be traced back to 1887. The Mimico Correctional Centre is one of several facilities operated by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and was located at 130 Horner Avenue in the district of Etobicoke which is now a part of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The facility was closed in 2011 and demolished to make room for the new Toronto South Detention Centre which opened in 2014.
