Colligan–Emmets GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Colligan, County Waterford, Ireland. The club enters teams in both GAA codes each year, which includes two adult hurling teams and two adult Gaelic football team in the Waterford County Championships. The club is known as Colligan when playing hurling and Emmets when playing Gaelic football. At underage, they are joined with Kilgobinet and are known as St Patrick's. At U21 level, they are joined with a few other small local clubs, Modeligo and Sliabh Cua–St Mary's from Touraneena, who are known as Comeragh Gaels. The club is yet to win a senior county championship in either grade, although the club has had success at both other adults levels and at underage.

Sleady Castle was built in 1628 by Philip McGrath. It is located in County Waterford, Ireland, approximately 10 miles (16 kilometers) from Lismore and Dungarvan. Both Lismore and Dungarvan have ancestral connections to the Clan McGrath. They were patrons to the Augustinian Abbey, at Abbeyside, Dungarvan, and have ancestral graves within its walls. Philip McGrath is a 4th generation decedent of Dónal McGrath who was buried in 1548, in the Church of Ireland Cathedral in Lismore.Around 1640 the McGraths were expelled from Sleady and the lands associated with it were given to Sir Richard Osbourne by the English Crown. John O'Keeffe is referenced as an owner in a June 16, 1876, Landed Estates Court Notice. In 1957 Sleady was sold at auction to a Mr. Doocey. Sleady is currently owned by John Hickey who bought it in 1970. His daughter Joanne Hickey manages the property. Her family has a long history with Sleady Castle as workers for previous landowners. Joanne's grandparents Jack and Brigid Hickey rented Sleady Lodge from 1938.Sleady Castle has hundreds of visitors in a typical year. Joanne is often there to welcome them and talk about the history of the Castle. It has become a destination for McGrath Clan members. The attached photo was taken in 2019 during a McGrath Clan Gathering tour of the Castle, where Joanne gave a tour and a talked about the Castle's history. She has also undertaken a refurbishment of the grounds surrounding the ruins to enhance the visitor experience. This initiative is called Sleady 400 to mark the 400th anniversary of the Castle in 2028. The project is supported by The United States McCraw Family Association.

Kilgobnet (Irish: Cill Ghobnait, meaning 'church of Gobnait') is one of 74 civil parishes in County Waterford, Ireland. Located within the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore, according to Samuel Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland, the parish had a population of approximately 3,000 inhabitants in 1837. Kilgobnet is also the name of a small townland, of approximately 1.2 square kilometres (0.46 sq mi), within the civil parish of the same name.

Tooraneena or Touraneena (Irish: Tuar an Fhíona) is a village in west County Waterford, Ireland. It lies in the Sliabh gCua district between the Comeraghs and Knockmealdown Mountains. It may be accessed from the main R672 road between Clonmel and Dungarvan. It is about 20 km (12 mi) from Dungarvan and 19 km (12 mi) from Clonmel.

Dungarvan GAA is a GAA club based in Dungarvan, County Waterford, Republic of Ireland. The club participates in both hurling and Gaelic football. The club currently heads the roll of honour in the Waterford Senior Football Championship with a total of 19 wins. The club attracted significant national attention in 2020 when a player competed in the final of the Waterford Intermediate Football Championship despite awaiting the result of a COVID-19 test, which returned a positive result. This led to Dungarvan (that year's competition-winning club) being stripped of the title.

Dungarvan (Irish: Dún Garbhán, meaning 'Garbhann's Fort') is a coastal town and harbour in County Waterford, on the south-east coast of Ireland. Prior to the merger of Waterford County Council with Waterford City Council in 2014, Dungarvan was the county town and administrative centre of County Waterford. Waterford City and County Council retains administrative offices in the town. The town's Irish name means "Garbhann's fort", referring to Saint Garbhann who founded a church there in the seventh century.Dungarvan has a population of 10,081 as per the 2022 census, the third largest town in the county.

Fraher Field (Irish: Páirc Uí Fhearachair) is a GAA stadium, located in Dungarvan, County Waterford, owned by the Waterford GAA County Board. It has a total capacity of around 15,000.

Abbeyside (Irish: Dún na Mainistreach, meaning 'fort of the monastery') is a townland in Dungarvan in County Waterford, Ireland. It lies on the east bank of the Colligan River.

Ballinroad (Irish: Baile an Rodaigh, meaning 'Rod's town') is a village approximately 3 km from Dungarvan, County Waterford on the south coast of Ireland. Ballinroad grew rapidly during the Celtic tiger era and is now one of Dungarvan's main dormitory areas.
