Verftsbrua (Norwegian for "Yard Bridge"), also popularly called Blomsterbrua ("Flower Bridge"), is a bridge at the bay of Trondheim. The bridge, built in 2003, spans 125 metres (410 ft). The name Verftsbrua comes from the nearby shipyard, Trondhjems mekaniske Værksted, while the name Blomsterbrua is due to the bridge featuring flowerbeds along its edges. It is mainly used for walking and biking, with over 5,000 people using it every day. It was built so people could reach the centre of the city without taking a long detour. Boats up to a height of 6 metres (20 ft) can pass the bridge, with a channel width of 12.5 metres (41 ft). The bridge is a retractable, and can be opened to allow taller boats to pass.

Bakke Church (Norwegian: Bakke kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Trondheim municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the Bakklandet area of the city of Trondheim, and the church serves the Bakklandet, Møllenberg, Rosenborg, and Nedre Elvehavn areas of Østbyen in Trondheim. It is one of the churches for the Bakklandet og Lademoen parish which is part of the Nidaros domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The red, wooden church was built in an octagonal style in 1715 using plans drawn up by the architect Johan Christopher Hempel (died 1729). The church seats about 400 people. It is the oldest building in the Bakklandet area of Trondheim since it was the only building that was spared during the Swedish siege of 1718.

Sonans Utdanning is a private educational institution offering general subjects at upper secondary (akin to high school) level and vocational school in Norway. It was established in 1989 in Stavanger, Norway under the name Stavanger Private Gymnas, which later developed into a chain of independent schools across Norway. The institution has 8500 students annually, and focuses on candidates who want to complete or improve grades from high school, or obtain study competencies in order to be admitted into higher education and reach specific study goals.

Olavshallen (English: Olav Hall or Olav Concert Hall) was built in 1989 as a concert hall and is named after a historical tradition in Trondheim, Norway, the St. Olav tradition. The foundation stone was laid by HM King Olav V 22 July 1988. Olavshallen opened for its first concert 17 September 1989 with jazz pianist Oscar Peterson and the official opening was held on 21 September. Olavshallen consists of two concert rooms - a main auditorium, the Large Hall has a seating capacity of 1240 and Little Hall with a capacity of 350 spectators. Olavshallen each year welcomes artists from various genres such as classical music, opera, dance, ballet, pop, rock, country, jazz, world music and children's and family events, shows, theater, cabaret and stand-up comedy shows. Trondheim Symphony Orchestra has its permanent abode in Olavshallen. Olavshallen has 260-300 concerts a year and an annual visit of approx. 150 000. The managing company Olavshallen AS, owned by the municipality receives no public funding for the operation of the culture.

Trondheim Academy of Fine Art is a department of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway responsible for Bachelor and Master education within fine art. Located at a separate campus at Nedre Elvehavn it is part of the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Art. The academy was created after World War II and in 1979 a college and from 1987 a state art academy. It was merged into NTNU in 1996.

Trondheim International School ("This") was founded in 2004 as an alternative to the Norwegian schools. It became an IB World School in 2008. It sees the IB program as a continuation process from the "PYP" to the "MYP" to the "DP" programs, and therefore has a continuation process with communication with the IB Diploma Program in the Trondheim Cathedral School.

The Trampe bicycle lift (Norwegian: Sykkelheisen Trampe) is a bicycle lift in Trondheim, Norway, invented and installed in 1993 by Jarle Wanwik.In 2013 it was upgraded and rebranded under the name CycloCable by Skirail, part of the Poma group.

Bakklandet is a neighborhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It lies in the borough of Østbyen on the east side of the Nidelva river between the Bakke Bridge (Bakke bru) and the Old Town Bridge (Gamle Bybro).The neighborhood is dominated by small, wooden houses and narrow streets. It is among the major tourist attractions in the city.In 1965, the road plan for Trondheim proposed that a large area in Bakklandet be demolished to make way for a four-lane motorway which would connect the road "Elgeseter gate" with the road "Innherredsveien". The plans were met by opposition from locals, and by the early 1980s the plan was shelved, even though the city's environmental council had approved depopulating the neighborhood in 1974.

Kristiansten Fortress (Norwegian: Kristiansten Festning, historically spelled Christiansten) is located on a hill east of the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway, named after Christian V of Denmark-Norway. It was built after the city fire of Trondheim in 1681 to protect the city against attack from the east. Construction was finished in 1685. It fulfilled its purpose in 1718 when Swedish forces laid siege against Trondheim. The fortress was decommissioned in 1816 by king Charles XIV John.

The siege of Trondheim was the successful siege and recapture of the city of Trondheim by Norwegian troops in 1658 that had been previously lost with the Treaty of Roskilde.

Nova Kinosenter is a cinema located in the city of Trondheim in Norway. It is one of Norway's most modern cinemas, and in September 2004, six new auditoria were added to the existing five. In its current form, Nova can accommodate 1314 people.
