The RISEBA University of Applied Sciences (Latvian: Biznesa, mākslas un tehnoloģiju augstskola "RISEBA") is a private international business school located in Riga, Latvia. Until April 2016 it was known as the "Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration". The school was established in 1992. Other than Riga, the school has another campus in Daugavpils.RISEBA comprises three major academic components or schools: School of Business with Bachelor, Master and PhD programmes, which cover the areas of business, management and economics - Faculty of Business and Economics School of Media and Communication with Bachelor and Master and PhD programmes in arts and communications - Faculty of Media and Creative Technologies School of Architecture and Design, which currently offers a Bachelor programme in Architecture. - Faculty of Architecture and Design

Riga Cathedral Choir School is a state-run school in Riga, Latvia for boys and girls aged 7 to 18. It provides both musical and general education, and has a well-known boys' choir as well as a girls' choir. The school was created on July 12, 1994. Riga Cathedral Choir School provides the following state funded licensed programs: Basic Education program unified curriculum including vocational education programs Vocal music, Choir class. The Emīls Dārziņš Music School (Emīla Dārziņa mūzikas vidusskola) is the junior music conservatory in located in the Āgenskalns district of Riga, named after Emīls Dārziņš. The senior school is the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (VLMA), formerly Riga Conservatory.

The Duchy of Courland and Semigallia was the name for a proposed client state of the German Empire during World War I which did not come into existence. It was proclaimed on 8 March 1918, in the German-occupied Courland Governorate by a council composed of Baltic Germans, who offered the crown of the once-autonomous duchy to Kaiser Wilhelm II, despite the existence of a formerly sovereign reigning family in that duchy, the Biron descendants of Ernst Johann von Biron. Although the German Reichstag supported national self-determination for the peoples of the Baltic provinces (what is now Latvia and Estonia), the German High Command continued the policy of attaching these territories to the German Reich by relying on the local Baltic Germans.In October 1918, the Chancellor of Germany, Prince Maximilian of Baden, proposed to have the military administration in the Baltic replaced by civilian authority. After the German Revolution on 18 November 1918, Latvia proclaimed independence and on 7 December, the German military handed over authority to the Latvian national government headed by Kārlis Ulmanis.

The Žanis Lipke Memorial (Žaņa Lipkes memoriāls) is a memorial museum located on the island of Ķīpsala in Riga, Latvia, at Mazais Balasta dambis, 9. It was opened in 2012 next to the former home of rescuer of Jews Žanis Lipke, where he had arranged a shelter for rescued Jews from the Riga Ghetto during World War II. At the beginning of World War II, Žanis Lipke hid the first Jewish refugees in temporary hiding places in different locations in Riga. During winter of 1941/1942 harboring people in hideouts in Riga and his own house became too dangerous, so he started building a shelter under the woodshed that stood next to his house. In January 1942 he dug out the first bunker all on his own, working at nights. At the beginning this bunker housed four people. In 1942 it collapsed when the spring thaw set in. Žanis Lipke immediately built a better-designed replacement. This improved bunker housed 8-12 Jews at a time, from 1942 to the summer of 1944. After the war Žanis Lipke used the bunker as a car pit. Over time, the pit caved in and the shed burned down in 1980s. Before the construction of the Memorial, a new shed was built for the Lipke family in the same place where the old shed with the secret bunker once stood.

St. Martin's Church (Latvian: Mārtiņa Evaņģēliski luteriskā baznīca) is a Lutheran church in Riga, the capital of Latvia. It is a parish church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia. The church is situated at the address 34 Slokas Street. Church is consecrated in 1852 and designed in Neo-Gothic forms by Johann Felsko.

Ķīpsala is an island on the left bank of the Daugava river, connected to Riga city center and Pārdaugava by the Shroud Bridge. Ķīpsala is divided from the rest of Riga by the Daugava in the east, Roņu dīķis in the north, Zunda in the west and Agenskalna līcis in the south.

Victory Park (Latvian: Uzvaras parks) is a park in Riga, located on the left bank of the Daugava, in the district of Āgenskalns.The modern area of the park is 36.7 hectares.

The Janis Rozentāls Art School (Latvian: Jaņa Rozentāla Mākslas skola, JRMS) is a Latvian art school teaching the academic arts of drawing, painting and composition — as well as graphics and design. The art high school has its beginning in 1895, when the Latvian Painters Society established a painter's school. In 1928 the school changed its name to Latvian Painters Crafts Promotion and Relief Society Vocational School (Latvian: Latvijas daiļkrāsotāju amatniecības veicināšanas un palīdzības biedrības aroda skola), which again was changed in 1944 to Riga Secondary School of Art (Latvian: Rīgas Mākslas vidusskola), in 1946 to Janis Rozentāls Art High School, in 1998 to Janis Rozentāls Art College (Latvian: Jaņa Rozentāla Rīgas Mākslas koledža), on 18 March 2002 to Janis Rozentāls Riga Art High School (Latvian: Jaņa Rozentāla Rīgas Mākslas vidusskola).

The Monument to the Liberators of Soviet Latvia and Riga from the German Fascist Invaders, unofficially known simply as the Victory Monument, was a memorial complex in Victory Park, Pārdaugava, Riga, Latvia, erected in 1985 to commemorate the Red Army soldiers that recaptured Riga and the rest of Latvia at the end of World War II (1944–1945). The complex consisted of a 79-metre tall obelisk that consisted of five columns topped by five-pointed star, and two groups of sculptures – Homeland the Mother (Dzimtene-māte, Родина-мать) and a band of three soldiers.The monument was the subject of long-standing controversy in modern Latvian society, concerning the historical memory of World War II and the legacy of Soviet rule. Many ethnic Latvians regarded it not as a symbol of liberation, but rather start of the Soviet re-occupation. The monument's obelisk was sometimes referred to in Latvian as "Moscow's Finger" (Maskavas pirksts) or okupeklis (a portmanteau of okupācija – 'occupation' and piemineklis – 'monument'), and juxtaposed to the Freedom Monument.Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, a decision was made to finally remove the monument. The demolition began 22 August 2022 and on 25 August 2022, the obelisk was toppled.

Muiželis Manor was a Baroque styled building in Latvia built for Muižeļi Family of Pārdaugava manor in 18th and 19th century, however the building was not preserved to the present day. It was located between Zunds and Daugavgrīvas streets, on modern Ūdens street of the northern side. The Muižeļi family lived in Daugava's Zunds since 17th century, Muižeļi were engaged in various occupations, including selling timber to England and other countries. By the end of 18th century, the Muižeļi family owned nine land plots.
