Assumption Grammar School (also known as 'The Assumption', 'Assumption Grammar' or 'AGS’) is a Catholic girls' grammar school in Ballynahinch, County Down, Northern Ireland with over 900 students.

Ballynahinch (from Irish Baile na hInse, meaning 'settlement of the island/water-meadow') is a town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It had a population of 6,164 people in the 2021 Census.Ballynahinch was traditionally a market town, and the market still takes place in the square every Thursday. The town lies on the main A24 road from Belfast to Clough, near Newcastle. Facilities in the town include a leisure centre. In recent years a regeneration committee has been formed for the development of the town and the surrounding Spa and Drumaness areas.

Spa is a small village in County Down, Northern Ireland, close to Ballynahinch. It is situated in the Down District Council area. Spa also has a small primary school which, in recent years, has had to expand to accommodate the increasing number of pupils resulting from the development of the new housing estates. It also has an Orange Hall. There is a lake just outside the village.

Drumaness (formerly Drumanessy; from Irish Droim an Easa, meaning 'ridge of the waterfall') is a village and townland (of 761 acres) in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area of County Down, Northern Ireland. It is 3 miles or 5 kilometres south of Ballynahinch, beside the main A24 Belfast to Newcastle road. It is situated in the civil parish of Magheradroll and the historic barony of Kinelarty. In the 2011 Census it had a population of 1,339 people.

Drumkeeragh Forest is a mixed coniferous forest located on the lower slopes of Slieve Croob, near Ballynahinch, Northern Ireland. It is used for commercial felling and is managed by the Forest Service Northern Ireland.The forest is predominantly made up of sitka spruce but Norway spruce, western red cedar, European larch, Douglas fir, noble fir, and Scots, lodgepole and Corsican pines are also found there. The trees are felled for timber, with cleared sections rotating every 50 years. The high elevation (190 metres (620 ft) to 310 metres (1,020 ft)) and poor soil mean that deciduous trees used to produce timber can not grow in the forest.In the cleared areas, replanting has been carried out with wildlife conservation and landscaping in mind. Some of the replanted trees have included mountain ash and silver birch, both native broadleaf trees, which has led to a wider variety of birds in these areas.

Bohill Forest is a small coniferous forest located near Drumaness, Northern Ireland. It is managed by the Forest Service Northern Ireland.

Tievenadarragh (from Irish Taobh na Darach, meaning 'hillside of the oak tree') is a townland of area 1,269 acres (514 ha) in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is situated in the civil parish of Loughinisland and the historic barony of Kinelarty.

Ballynahinch Junction railway station was on the Belfast and County Down Railway which ran from Belfast to Newcastle, County Down in Northern Ireland. The railway split off from the Belfast and County Down Railway onto the B&CDR Ballynahinch Branch ending at Ballynahinch station.

Rowallane Garden is a National Trust property located immediately south of Saintfield, County Down, Northern Ireland on the A7 road. It is particularly noted for its extensive collection of azaleas and rhododendrons. It is also home to the National Collection of penstemons. It opened on 16 May 1956 by Lady Brookeborough after being taken over by the National Trust in July 1955.
