Bernstorff Palace (Danish: Bernstorff Slot) in Gentofte, Copenhagen, Denmark, was built in the middle of the 18th century for Foreign Minister Count Johann Hartwig Ernst von Bernstorff. It remained in the possession of the Bernstorff family until 1812. In 1842, it was bought by Christian VIII. For many years, it was used as a summer residence by Christian IX until his death in 1906. Since then and until recently, it was used by the Danish Emergency Management Agency as an academy for non-commissioned officers, but it has now opened as a hotel and conference centre.

Gentofte Town Hall (Danish: Gentofte Rådhus) is the administrative centre of Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. The main building is from 1939 and is situated on Bernstorffsvej. Gentofte Fire Station is situated next to the town hall.

Gentofte Municipality (Danish: Gentofte Kommune) is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in the Capital Region of Denmark (Region Hovedstaden) on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. It covers an area of 25.54 km2 (9.86 sq mi), and has a total population of 74,838 (1. January 2023). Since 17 May 2021, its mayor has been Michael Fenger, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti). Gentofte is the most wealthy municipality in Denmark and consists of several fashionable Copenhagen suburbs such as Hellerup and Charlottenlund. The municipality is an amalgamation of three formerly independent towns, and several other local settlements, all close to one another. The site of its municipal council is in Charlottenlund. The three original towns were Gentofte, Vangede and Ordrup. It later included Tuborg, Skovshoved, Dyssegård, Hellerup, Jægersborg, and Klampenborg. Neighboring municipalities are Lyngby-Taarbæk to the north, Gladsaxe to the west, and Copenhagen to the south. The Øresund, the strait that separates Zealand from Sweden, is to the east. Gentofte municipality was not merged with other municipalities in the 1 January 2007 nationwide Kommunalreformen. Lars Ulrich, drummer and co-founder of the American heavy metal band Metallica, was born in Gentofte.

Charlottenlund is a suburban area on the coast north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the administrative seat of Gentofte Municipality. Bordered to the east by the Øresund, to the South by Hellerup and to the north by Klampenborg, it is one of the wealthiest areas in Denmark. The neighbourhood takes its name after Charlottenlund Palace.

Bernstorffsvej station is a commuter rail railway station serving the northeastern part of the district of Hellerup in Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. The station is located on the Hillerød branch of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark, served by the E-line between Høje Taastrup station and Holte station while the longer A-line doesn't stop at this station. The station is served every 10th minute in each direction. The station was opened on 15 May 1936, together with the S-train line Hellerup-Holte. It has altered very little since, except for the addition of a lift and a viaduct across Bernstorffsvej, which was rebuilt in 1969. The station is in need of renovation and has been unmanned for many years. Tickets can be purchased from an automat or via SMS/internet.

Charlottenlund station is a commuter railway station serving the suburb of Charlottenlund north of Copenhagen, Denmark, as well as the nearby Charlottenlund Beach Park and the Charlottenlund Racetrack. Charlottenlund station is located on the Klampenborg radial of Copenhagen's S-train network and regularly served by trains on the C-line or F-line.
