Belvedere station (Edmonton)

North Edmonton is a former village in Alberta, Canada that was absorbed by the City of Edmonton. The approximate geographic centre of the former village is the current intersection of Fort Road, 66 Street and 127 Avenue in northeast Edmonton. Its land is now occupied by the Edmonton neighbourhoods of Balwin, Belvedere, Industrial Heights, Kennedale Industrial and Yellowhead Corridor East.

The Transit Hotel, also known as The Transit, was a hotel and tavern in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was located at the intersection of 66th street and Fort Road, in the northeast part of the city. Opened on September 11, 1908, the Transit was strategically placed as the first or last stop for travellers between Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan, and for its proximity to the recently built J.Y. Griffin slaughterhouse (later Swift's Packing Plant). The hotel included many modern conveniences, including hot and cold water, bathrooms on the top floor, and electric lighting. From the Edmonton Journal: "The hotel and the land that surrounds it have undergone many changes over the years. The hitching posts that surrounded the hotel are long gone, as are the packing plants and stockyards. Asphalt has replaced the dirt roads farmers once brought their pigs, sheep and cattle in on for slaughter. The Belvedere LRT station now sits on land where once there was a hatchery. Even the community known as Packingtown no longer exists. The area was incorporated as the Village of North Edmonton in 1910 and annexed by the city in 1912. Little remains of the hotel's original interior and exterior, although the current owners, Bob and Pauline Ruzycki, have spent a lot of time and money restoring the front facade to its original boom-town architecture, complete with a second-floor veranda, elaborate parapet and finialed roof line. The hotel was run down when they purchased it in December 1986."It closed permanently in June 2017. It was announced in early July 2020 that the new owners of the Transit Hotel, David Egan and Ray Pritlove would be reopening it as the Transit Smokehouse & BBQ.

D.L. MacDonald Yard is the maintenance facility, garage, and operations centre for the Capital and Metro light rail transit lines operated by Edmonton Transit Service, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Located to the northeast in the Kennedale industrial area, at 13310 - 50A Street, the facility opened in December 1983 at a cost of $28.2 million.Expansions to the facility to accommodate additional light rail vehicles were completed as part of the South LRT Extension Project. Portions of the expansion were completed in 2008 with the remainder completed in early 2009.

Newton is a residential neighbourhood located in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The neighbourhood is bounded on the south by Alberta (118) Avenue, on the north by the Yellowhead Trail, on the east by 50 Street, and on the west by 58 Street. Northlands Coliseum and the Coliseum LRT station are located a short distance to the west of the neighbourhood. The community is represented by the Newton Community League, established in 1954, which maintains a community hall and outdoor rink located at 55 Street and 121 Avenue.

Londonderry Mall is a shopping centre located in north Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It contains over 150 stores and services with nine major tenants. The mall opened in 1972 and has been expanded and renovated since. Londonderry Mall has many notable stores, including a full service Shoppers Drug Mart, Hudson's Bay, Winners, Dollar Tree, Dollarama, Miniso, Fabricland, Fit 4 Less, Simons department store, Flight Centre and H&M. The mall recently went under a complete renovation which completed in August 2017.

M.E. LaZerte High School is a high school in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in the north eastern Kilkenny neighbourhood. It is part of Edmonton Public Schools. The school's team name is the Voyageurs, which is also what they call the student body.

Highlands is a residential neighbourhood in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada overlooking the North Saskatchewan River valley. The area was annexed by Edmonton in 1912, and "was named in a contest offering a 50-dollar prize." In 2012, Highlands was ranked one of Canada's top ten neighbourhoods of old homes by the magazine This Old House. The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by Montrose and Newton at 118 (Alberta) Avenue, on the east by Beverly Heights at 50 Street, on the west by Bellevue at 67 Street, and on the south by the North Saskatchewan River valley. Interchanges between Wayne Gretzky Drive and both 118 Avenue and 112 Avenue give residents access to destinations south of the river including Whyte Avenue and the University of Alberta. Residents also have access to Northlands, the (former) Coliseum, Commonwealth Stadium and Concordia University of Edmonton. All four facilities are located a short distance west of the neighbourhood. The community is represented by the Highlands Community League, established in 1921, which maintains a community hall, outdoor rink, and a lawn bowling club located at 61 Street and 113 Avenue.

The Northeast Community Health Centre (NECHC) is a community health centre located in Northeast-Edmonton. It provides medical services through Alberta Health Services, including a 24/7 emergency department.

Edmonton-Highlands-Beverly was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting from 1993 to 1997.Edmonton-Highlands-Beverly was contested only once, in 1993. It was created from most of Edmonton-Highlands and part of Edmonton-Beverly, and its name was changed back to Edmonton-Highlands in 1997, with no boundary changes.

Edmonton East (formerly known as Edmonton Centre-East) was a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1917 to 2015. The district included a portion of the city of Edmonton.

Edmonton East stylized as Edmonton (East) was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1917 to 1921.The district was created in 1917, out of the Edmonton District. In 1921, the district was merged with Edmonton South and Edmonton West to form the second incarnation of the Edmonton District. Such occurrence is still a controversy in the area.

Clareview station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves the Capital Line and is currently the northern terminus of the line. It is a ground-level station located near 42 Street and 139 Avenue, and is named for the northeast Edmonton district of Clareview. As of 2018, it is the northernmost rail transit station in North America, being at approximately the same latitude as Dublin, Ireland, Manchester, England, and Hamburg, Germany.
