The Quito Astronomical Observatory (Spanish: Observatorio Astronómico de Quito – OAQ) is a research institute of EPN, the National Polytechnic School in Quito, Ecuador. Its major research fields are astronomy and atmospheric physics.The Quito Astronomical Observatory is one of the oldest observatories in South America and was founded in 1873. In 1963, The Government of Ecuador transferred title of the Observatory to the National Polytechnic School. The Quito Astronomical Observatory is the National Observatory of Ecuador and is located 12 minutes south of the Equator in the Historic Center of Quito.

La Alameda Park is a park in Quito. This park is shaped like a triangle bounded by the streets Gran Colombia, Sodiro and 10 de Agosto. It is the oldest park in the city, its composition dates from 1596 with an area of 6.3 hectares. The park is also known as 'Chuquihuada'.The park houses the "Churo," one of the oldest towns in the area, dating back to colonial times. The name "churo" refers to the shape of a snail. Inside of this park was established the Quito Astronomical Observatory in 1864, the first astronomical observatory in South America. At the time of the construction it was the most gifted of South America and still has the instrumentation of the time. The park is filled with monuments. Some of the more famous among these are the sculpture built in honor of the French Geodesic Mission and to Bolivar. The Alameda Park is a true tradition of Quito, with its natural lagoon becomes a place of relaxation for the inhabitants of the city. The park keeps inside trees that have stood the time, we can find palm trees, acacias, redwoods, toct, cedar and ash. The oldest tree of Alameda is a 120 years old macrocarpa cypress. Parque El Ejido is a park located along Avenue Patria in the Old Centre part of Quito, Ecuador. It is the third-largest park in the city. Estadio El Ejido is located nearby. The park hosts exhibitions on the weekend.

El Ejido is a Quito Metro station. It was officially opened on 21 December 2022 as part of the inaugural section of the system between Quitumbe and El Labrador. The revenue service started on 2 May 2023 and discontinued on 11 May 2003. The station is located between Universidad Central and La Alameda.This is an underground station. It is 28 metres (92 ft) deep.The station is located below Avenida 6 de Diciembre, between two parks, El Ejido and Parque del Arbolito.The tunnel reached the station on 28 July 2018. On 23 January 2023, the first train with 600 passengers to whom invitations were extended, arrived to the station.

Benjamín Carrión Palace (Spanish: Palacio Benjamín Carrión) is a palace and museum in Quito, Ecuador. Named after Benjamín Carrión, a diplomat, cultural promoter, and an Ecuadorian writer. The palace was built in 1946–8. The building is located in the district of Itchimbía, near the border with La Mariscal. Its south side is adjacent to El Arbolito and was one of the first structures completed in the complex of buildings which create the Cultural Center of Ecuador.

La Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana (The House of Ecuadorian Culture) is a cultural organization founded by Benjamín Carrión on August 9, 1944, during the presidency of Dr Jose Maria Velasco Ibarra. It was created to stimulate, to direct and to coordinate the development of an authentic national culture. Headquartered in Quito, it maintains several museums throughout Ecuador.
