St. Peter Catholic High School is a Catholic high school located in Orléans, a suburb of Ottawa, Canada. The current principal is Linda Meulenbroek. The school includes grades 7–12 and also a preschool/daycare service. During the 2019–2020 school year, 525 intermediate (grades 7–8) and 1,235 high-school (grades 9–12) students were enrolled.

Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School (formerly Sir Wilfrid Laurier High School) is a public high school located in the Fallingbrook neighbourhood within the suburb of Orléans in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The school is under the jurisdiction of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School was originally located on Carsons Road which was then part of the City of Gloucester. The school primarily served the neighbourhoods of Carson Grove and Pineview. In 1992, the school relocated to their current location on Tenth Line Road in Orleans which was then part of Cumberland Township. The former location is now used by Collège catholique Samuel-Genest. The school is directly connected to the Ray Friel Recreational Complex which features a swimming pool, skating rink, a branch of the Ottawa Public Library, a branch of the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre, and the River Heights Children Centre. Each school day consists of four seventy-five minute periods. Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School offers a number of special academic opportunities for students such as a co-operative education program, Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs, and dual course programs with Algonquin College. The school also offers special education for students who require additional support including in-class IEPs and specially trained educators. Sir Wilfred Laurier Secondary School offers a variety of varsity and intramural sports including golf, football, cross-country running, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, ultimate, rugby, badminton, ice hockey, cross-country skiing, curling, downhill skiing/snowboarding, swimming, touch football, track and field, baseball, and softball.

Orléans East-Cumberland Ward (Ward 1) is a city ward in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, represented on Ottawa City Council. It was created before the 2000 Election when the area was amalgamated into the city of Ottawa. The ward covers much of the suburban community of Orleans in the east of the city. Previous to that, the ward existed in the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton Council. It contains the neighbourhoods of Queenswood Heights, Queenswood Village, Fallingbrook, Cardinal Creek, Cardinal Creek Village, Bella Vista and Cumberland Village.

Trim is a transitway station in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, located near Trim Road and Regional Road 174 (former Highway 17). A Natrel factory is located near this station. Trim station once served as the eastern weekday terminus for the OC Transpo Transitway route 95, but is now served every day of the week, with Rapid Route 39 travelling between Blair and Millennium stations. Before October 2019, there was no rapid weekend service at the station, as it was mostly used a stop for servicing commuters who were using the Park and Ride facility that contains about 1,089 parking spaces. There are plans to possibly add a transitway extension into residential neighbourhoods along Innes Road and Trim Road, while it remains mostly rural to the east towards Cumberland Village and Rockland. During the summer, special service to nearby Petrie Island Beach is provided on weekends. This station will serve as the eastern terminus for the O-Train Confederation Line beginning in 2025.

Orléans is a provincial electoral district in eastern Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Before the 2018 election, it was known as Ottawa—Orléans.

Orléans (formerly Ottawa—Orléans, Gloucester—Carleton and Carleton—Gloucester) is a federal electoral district in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1988. The riding was created as "Carleton—Gloucester" in 1987. Its name was changed to "Gloucester—Carleton" in 1996, but then changed back to "Carleton–Gloucester" in 1997. It was changed again in 2000 to "Ottawa—Orléans" and to just "Orléans" in 2013. Despite having an English-speaking majority, Orléans is among the most francophone of the Ontario federal ridings, and a major centre of the Franco-Ontarian community. According to the 2001 Statistics Canada report, 35% of the riding population speaks French as their mother tongue. In recent years, the riding has experienced a major growth of population and increased housing projects. In the 2004 federal election, the Liberal candidate Marc Godbout won over the Conservative candidate Walter Robinson by over 4% of the votes. Robinson, a former president of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, was considered a favourite but failed to win support among Francophones. Ottawa—Orléans was also the riding where the NDP had Canada's youngest woman candidate, Crystal LeBlanc, who received 5905 votes in the 2004 federal election.

Located south of Innes Road, east of Portobello Boulevard, west of Trim Road, and north of Brian Coburn Boulevard (formerly Blackburn Bypass) . Queenswood Heights is a neighbourhood located in Orleans, the suburb in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, the neighbourhood was in the Township of Cumberland. Queenswood Heights is bounded by St. Joseph Boulevard to the north, Tenth Line Road to the east, Innes Road to the south, and the former Cumberland-Gloucester boundary to the west (the Queenswood Heights Community Association considers Duford St. to be the western boundary). According to the Canada 2016 Census, the population of the neighbourhood was 11,031. Queenswood Heights spans 3.71 square kilometres (920 acres).

Avalon is a neighbourhood located in Orleans, a suburb in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, the area was in the City of Cumberland. This neighbourhood was non-existent until the late 1990s when the urban sprawl intensified in the east end. Avalon quickly developed in the area is now bordered to the north by Innes Road, to the east by a line following (from north to south) Portobello Boulevard to Brian Coburn Boulevard to Trim Road, the west by Mer Bleue Road and to the south by Wall Road. According to the Canada 2011 Census, this area had a population of 12,455.The development of the area slowed when the developer had to return to previously built houses to fix foundations. Some have criticized the builder for building on swampland without proper engineering.At the intersection of Innes and Tenth Line, a large commercial zone with several department and big-box stores developed in conjunction of the residential boom of Avalon. This new district displaced some customers away from Place d'Orléans. A smaller commercial area is currently underway on Trim Road south of Innes. Plans by the city of Ottawa may bring an O-Train east-west light-rail line in the area but it was still several years away. However, the cancellation of the north-south extension project on December 14, 2006 may halt those plans. The neighbourhood is part of the Portobello South Community Development Association, which also includes Notting Gate and Notting Hill.

Chaperal is a neighbourhood located in the suburban Orleans area, in the east-end of the city of Ottawa, Ontario. Part of the city's Cumberland Ward, the residential development is bordered to the north by Innes Road, to the west by Mer Bleue Road, the east by Tenth Line Road and to the south by Brian Coburn Boulevard. The community includes a mixture of single family, semi-detached, town homes, and bungalows. Tamarack commenced the first phase of construction in Spring 2008. As of the Canada 2011 Census, the population was 766.Past OC Transpo plans saw a potential O-Train light train line to the area; however, some controversy and the December 14, 2006 cancellation of a previous proposal halted the plans. Taggart Realty Management were responsible for the commercial development of the Shops of Tenth Line, located at the corner of Tenth Line Road and Brian Coburn Boulevard.

The school also houses a community child day care centre, and is currently the largest or second largest and most populated French high school in Ontario, either surpassing or coming very close to that of the Thériault Catholic High School located in Timmins.
