The Burlington County Institute of Technology (BCIT) is a county-wide public school district that serves the vocational and technical education needs of students at the high school and post-secondary level in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. BCIT's more than 2,000 students come from 38 sending school districts throughout the county.BCIT has campuses in Medford and Westampton townships. Admission to BCIT is based on a competitive admissions test. The district develops apprenticeship and job training programs with local businesses and educational institutions. As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprising two schools, had an enrollment of 2,135 students and 155.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.7:1.

The Burlington County Prison is a historic museum property, located next to the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. Operating from 1811 to 1965, it was the oldest prison in the nation at the time of its closure. Designed by Robert Mills, its design exemplified period thinking in progressive prison design, with individual cells, good ventilation, and fireproof construction. Now operated by a local nonprofit as a museum, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1986.

Rancocas Valley Regional High School is a regional high school and public school district serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from five communities in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The district encompasses approximately 40 square miles (100 km2) and is comprised of the communities of Eastampton Township, Hainesport Township, Lumberton, Mount Holly and Westampton Township. The school is located in Mount Holly. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1938.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,048 students and 140.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.6:1. There were 357 students (17.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 80 (3.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth highest of eight groupings. Mount Holly is a township that is the county seat of Burlington County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is an eastern suburb of Philadelphia, the nation's sixth largest city as of 2020. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 9,981, an increase of 445 (+4.7%) from the 2010 census count of 9,536, which in turn reflected a decline of 1,192 (-11.1%) from the 10,728 counted in the 2000 census. The township, and all of Burlington County, is a part of the Philadelphia-Reading-Camden combined statistical area and the Delaware Valley.What is now Mount Holly was originally formed as Northampton on November 6, 1688. Northampton was incorporated as one of New Jersey's initial group of 104 townships created by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. Portions of the township were taken to form Little Egg Harbor Township (February 13, 1740, now part of Ocean County), Washington Township (November 19, 1802), Pemberton borough (December 15, 1826), Coaxen Township (March 10, 1845, now known as Southampton Township), Pemberton Township (March 10, 1846), Westampton Township (March 6, 1850) and Lumberton Township (March 14, 1860). There had been a Mount Holly post office since before the 1870 U.S. Census. The township was renamed Mount Holly as of November 6, 1931, based on the results of a referendum held three days earlier. The township was named for hills covered with holly trees. Some areas of today's Mount Holly were known as Bridgetown.Mount Holly gives its name to the National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office for the Philadelphia metropolitan area, though the office is actually located in adjacent Westampton.

The Battle of Iron Works Hill, also known as the Battle of Mount Holly, was a series of minor skirmishes that took place on December 22 and 23, 1776, during the American Revolutionary War. The fighting took place in Mount Holly, New Jersey, between an American force mostly composed of colonial militia under Colonel Samuel Griffin and a force of 2,000 Hessians and British regulars under Carl von Donop. While the American force of 600 was eventually forced from their positions by the larger Hessian force, the action prevented von Donop from being in his assigned base at Bordentown, New Jersey, and in a position to assist Johann Rall's brigade in Trenton, New Jersey, when it was attacked and defeated by George Washington after his troops crossed the Delaware on the night of December 25–26, 1776.

The Brainerd Schoolhouse is a one-room schoolhouse located at 35 Brainerd Street in Mount Holly Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. Built in 1759, it is the oldest building of its type in the state and now a museum. Listed as the John Brainard School, it was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1936. Listed as the Old Schoolhouse, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 26, 2008, for its significance in education. It is a contributing property to the Mount Holly Historic District. It is owned and operated by the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America.

The Burlington County Courthouse is located in Mount Holly, the county seat of Burlington County, New Jersey, U.S., which itself is coterminous with the 3rd vicinage. The historic courthouse continues to handle judicial proceedings.The building was constructed in 1796 under the direction of Michael Rush. Its architect, Samuel Lewis, designed the building as a virtual identical twin of Congress Hall and Old City Hall, the buildings flanking Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The courthouse bell, removed and installed from an earlier courthouse, rang for independence in 1776.It is a contributing property to the Mount Holly Historic District, listed on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places (#842) and National Register of Historic Places (#73001084) in 1973. and has been documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS NJ-27).

The Shinn Curtis Log House lies in the heart of a historic section of Mount Holly, New Jersey, United States. The early settler's home of hand-hewn logs originally built in 1712 was encased in a house and was uncovered in 1967 when the surrounding house was demolished. It was in the possession of the Curtis family for 147 years, since 1802, and is now owned by the Mount Holly Historical Society. The building was relocated from what had been Water Street and renamed Rancocas Road.

Timbuctoo is an unincorporated community in Westampton Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. Located along the Rancocas Creek, Timbuctoo was settled by formerly enslaved and free Black people, beginning in 1826. It includes Church St., Blue Jay Hill Road, and adjacent areas. At its peak in the mid-nineteenth century, Timbuctoo had more than 125 residents, a school, an AME Zion Church, and a cemetery. The key remaining evidence of this community is the cemetery on Church Street, which was formerly the site of Zion Wesleyan Methodist Episcopal African Church. Some current residents are descendants of early settlers.
