Caracas Athenaeum

The Museum of Fine Arts (Spanish: Museo de Bellas Artes or MBA) is an art museum in Caracas, Venezuela. It was founded in 1917, and was originally housed in the building now known as the Palacio de las Academias. Its current buildings were both designed by architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva, a 1930s Neoclassical structure and a 1970s Brutalist structure. In the 1970s the Museum moved out of the neoclassical building to provide a home for the newly established National Art Gallery. It has reoccupied this space since the inauguration of a new building for the National Art Gallery in 2009.

The Hotel Alba Caracas is the first 5 star hotel in Venezuela. It is located in the cultural and financial center of Caracas, between Av. Mexico with Av. Sur 25. It overlooks El Ávila National Park and Los Caobos Park and has direct access to the Caracas Metro.

The Teresa Carreño Cultural Complex (Complejo Cultural Teresa Carreño), also known as Teresa Carreño Theatre (Teatro Teresa Carreño), is the most important theatre of Caracas and Venezuela, where performances include symphonic and popular concerts, opera, ballet and plays. It is the second largest theater in South America after the Néstor Kirchner Cultural Centre at Buenos Aires. The theatre was built on a 22,000-square-metre (240,000 sq ft) lot and named after the Venezuelan pianist Teresa Carreño. It is located in the cultural district of the city: Bellas Artes. It houses two concert halls: the José Félix Ribas and the Ríos Reyna (named after José Félix Ribas and Pedro Antonio Ríos Reyna, respectively). The following are resident performing arts groups: Teresa Carreño Opera Choir Teresa Carreño Ballet directed up to 2002 by choreographer Vicente Nebrada National Philharmonic Orchestra of Venezuela.Its spaces are also shared by the National Theater Company of Venezuela and the Monte Ávila Editores bookstore (Librerías del Sur). The artistic director of the theater is the Venezuelan conductor Rodolfo Saglimbeni.

Parque Central is a Caracas Metro station on Line 4. It was opened on 19 July 2006 as part of the inaugural section of the line between Capuchinos and Zona Rental. The station is located between Nuevo Circo and Zona Rental.

Caracas Museum of Contemporary Art (Spanish: Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas or MACC) is a museum of modern art located in the Parque Central Complex in Caracas, Venezuela. It was founded on 30 August 1973 by the journalist and art patron Sofía Ímber, also its director from 1973 to her dismissal in the Chavist cultural revolution of 2001. It opened in 1974 and was the first museum in Venezuela to offer a specialist art library, a formal children's and adults' learning area, a special education department for the blind, and a multimedia arts centre.Its collection has 5,000 pieces, including works by Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, Vasili Kandinsky, Fernand Léger, Piet Mondrian, Andy Warhol and Francis Bacon. Its director's dismissal, the 2002 theft of Henri Matisse's Odalisque in Red Pantaloons and the Venezuelan Crisis have involved the museum in corruption and neglect as well as leading to criticisms of poor security, rapid changes of directors and the cancellations of catalogues and exhibitions. Entry is free for the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions.

Bellas Artes is a Caracas Metro station on Line 1. It was opened on 27 March 1983 as part of the extension of Line 1 from La Hoyada to Chacaíto. The station is between Parque Carabobo and Colegio de Ingenieros.The station is located next to the National Art Gallery, hence the name.

The Mosque Ibrahim Ibin Abdul Aziz Al-Ibrahim (Spanish: Mezquita Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Abdulaziz Al Ibrahim) or Caracas Mosque is a mosque in the El Recreo district of Caracas, Venezuela. It is the second largest mosque in Latin America after the King Fahd Islamic Cultural Center in Buenos Aires. Mirroring modern Venezuela's religious tolerance and its oil realpolitik the construction of the mosque began in 1989 by Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Ibrahim Al Ibrahim. The mosque designed by architect Zuhair Fayez occupies an area of 5000 m², its minaret is 113 metres high and the dome is 23 metres high. Construction of the mosque was completed in 1993. The mosque can hold around 3500 worshipers. Rising higher between the Catholic Cathedral a few blocks away and the Caracas Synagogue, the minaret is the highest in the Americas."It is like a dream come true for us," Hassan Majzoub, president of Venezuela's Islamic Center, said of the four-year project, culminated in March 1993 with the inauguration of the Caracas Islamic Center. Mr. Majzoub, a shopkeeper who emigrated from Lebanon in 1968, acknowledged that the 100,000 Muslims in Venezuela were easily surpassed in number by Muslims in Argentina, Brazil and the United States. This mosque is equipped with the following amenities. A 1200 m² room for religious festivals, conferences and multiple uses from sports to social, has basketball, soccer and volleyball courts, also equipped with restrooms for men and women. A classroom equipped for the teaching of the Arabic language and the Islamic religion. A fully equipped funeral room to wash the dead and prepare them for burial. Two apartments. Parking with capacity for 100 cars There are an estimated 50,000 Muslims in Caracas, most of them of Syrian and Lebanese origin.

The Parque Central Complex is a housing, commercial and cultural development, implemented by Centro Simón Bolívar and located in the area known as El Conde in the center of the city of Caracas, Venezuela adjacent to Paseo Vargas. Within the complex are the Twin Towers of Parque Central which are two skyscrapers that, for decades, have become Caracas' architectural icon. From 1979 (when the West Tower was opened) until 2003, they held the title of tallest skyscrapers in Latin America until they were overtaken by Torre Mayor in Mexico City. Today (as of April 2020) the Parque Central Towers are South America's 6th tallest skyscrapers and the 22nd tallest in Latin America, after Torres Obispado in Monterrey, Gran Torre Santiago in Santiago (Chile), and many buildings in Panama City, Mexico City, and Balneário Camboriú. Parque Central towers were the tallest twin buildings in Latin America, now the 281 m high Edifício Yachthouse in Balneário Camboriú - Brazil, owns the title.When the complex was finally opened in 1983, it was considered the "most important urban development in Latin America". Since then Parque Central is a point of reference in Caracas and its main landmark. It houses many cultural and government institutions and is adjacent to the cultural district of museums in Caracas.

The Caracas Botanical Garden (Spanish: Jardín Botánico de Caracas), also known as Central University of Venezuela Botanical Garden (Jardín Botánico de la Universidad Central de Venezuela), is part of the University City of Caracas World Heritage Site.The garden extends for 70 hectares and is administered by the Botanic Institute of Venezuela (FIVB). Its code of international recognition as a botanical institution, as well as the acronym of the herbarium, is VEN.It is located in the geographic center of Caracas, forming part of the whole of the University City, with its main entrance at Salvador Allende Avenue off the bridge that connects Plaza Venezuela with the Tamanaco Entrance of the UCV.

The National Art Gallery (Galería de Arte Nacional; GAN) also known as Gallery of National Art is located in the Plaza Morelos area of Caracas, Venezuela. The museum opened in May 1976. In 2009 it moved to a new building designed by Carlos Gómez de Llerena, Venezuela's largest museum building.

The Children's Museum of Caracas (Fundación Museo de los Niños) is a museum in Caracas, Venezuela aimed at teaching children about science, technology, culture and arts. It was established by the former First Lady of Venezuela, Alicia Pietri de Caldera in 1982.

Centro Financiero Confinanzas (English: Confinanzas Financial Center), also known as Torre de David (the Tower of David), is an unfinished abandoned skyscraper in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. It is the third highest skyscraper in the country after the twin towers of Parque Central Complex. The construction of the tower began in 1990 but was halted in 1994 due to the Venezuelan banking crisis. As of 2018, the building remains incomplete and unused. It was damaged due to two earthquakes on 21 and 22 August 2018.
