Hunan Martyr's Park (simplified Chinese: 湖南烈士公园; traditional Chinese: 湖南烈士公園; pinyin: Húnán Lièshì Gōngyuán) is an urban park and the largest park in Changsha, Hunan, China. Covering an area of 343.3-acre (138.9 ha), the park was constructed and opened to the public in 1953. It is a renowned scenic spot integrating memory, leisure and tourism. Hunan Martyr's Park has been designated as a "Provincial Key Cultural Protection Unit" by the Hunan government and a "National Patriotic Education Base" by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China. In 2009 it was categorized as a "National Key Park" by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

The National University of Defense Technology (NUDT; 中国人民解放军国防科学技术大学) is a national public research university headquartered in Kaifu, Changsha, Hunan, China. It is affiliated with the Central Military Commission. The university is part of Project 211, Project 985, and the Double First-Class Construction. With the predecessor founded in 1953 as the People's Liberation Army Military Academy of Engineering (中国人民解放军军事工程学院) in Harbin, the institution was officially established in 1978 in Changsha by Deng Xiaoping. NUDT was instrumental in the development of the Tianhe-2 supercomputer. In 2017, the university incorporated five military colleges, which are the PLA College of International Relations, the PLA College of National Defense Information, the PLA Xi'an Telecommunication College, the PLA College of Electronic Engineering, and the PLA Science and Engineering University College of Meteorology and Oceanography.As of 2023, the National University of Defense Technology was listed as one of the top 501-600 universities in the world universities rankings.

Yaquehu station (Chinese: 雅雀湖站; pinyin: Yǎquèhú Zhàn) is a subway station in Kaifu District, Changsha, Hunan, China, operated by the Changsha subway operator Changsha Metro. It entered revenue service on 28 June 2020.

The Huachuang International Plaza (Chinese: 华创国际广场) is a mixed-use building complex in Changsha, China. Built between 2013 and 2017, the complex consists of three towers with the tallest (Tower 1) standing at 300 m (980 ft) tall with 66 floors, currently the 5th tallest building in Changsha. All three towers main function is of office buildings, while Tower 1 also shares it with the hotel function.

Mawangdui (simplified Chinese: 马王堆; traditional Chinese: 馬王堆; pinyin: Mǎwángduī; lit. 'King Ma's Mound') is an archaeological site located in Changsha, China. The site consists of two saddle-shaped hills and contained the tombs of three people from the Changsha Kingdom during the western Han dynasty (206 BC – 9 AD): the Chancellor Li Cang, his wife Xin Zhui, and a male believed to have been their son. The site was excavated from 1972 to 1974. Most of the artifacts from Mawangdui are displayed at the Hunan Provincial Museum. It was called "King Ma's Mound" possibly because it was (erroneously) thought to be the tomb of Ma Yin (853–930), a ruler of the Chu kingdom during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. The original name might have been the similarly-sounding "saddle-shaped mound" (馬鞍堆 - mǎ ān duī).

Kaifusi (Kaifu Temple) station is a railway and subway station in Kaifu District, Changsha, Hunan, China, operated by CR Guangzhou and Changsha Metro. It opened its services on June 28, 2016. Kaifusi/ Temple Station offers interchange between Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan intercity railway and Changsha Metro Line 1. The metro station opened on 28 June 2016 while the railway station opened on 26 December 2017.

Wenchangge station is a subway station in Kaifu District, Changsha, Hunan, China, operated by the Changsha subway operator Changsha Metro. It entered revenue service on June 28, 2016. It later became an interchange on June 28, 2022 after the opening of Line 6.

The Hunan Museum (Chinese: 湖南省博物馆) is the provincial museum of Hunan, China. It was built in 1951 and opened to the public in July 1956. It is located in the provincial capital Changsha at No. 50, Dongfeng Lu next to the Revolutionary Martyr's Park. It spans a total area of about 50,000 square metres (12 acres), with a constructed area of 20,000 square metres (4.9 acres). The museum has a collection of more than 180,000 objects, including items found in the tombs of the Marquis of Dai and his wife, Xin Zhui, in Mawangdui.The museum was closed on 18 June 2012 for renovation and expansion works and reopened on 29 November 2017.
