Main Street Bridge (Califon, New Jersey)

Califon is a borough in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 1,005, a decrease of 71 (−6.6%) from the 2010 census count of 1,076, which in turn reflected an increase of 21 (+2.0%) from the 1,055 counted in the 2000 census.The town was originally called California starting in 1849, but the name was shortened to Califon around 1875 in order to fit on a sign being painted at the train station. Alternatively, the name was related to a bright yellow cattle feed sold during the Gold Rush.

The Califon School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Califon, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 83 students and 14.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 5.6:1. In the 2016-17 school year, Califon had the seventh-smallest enrollment of any school district in the state.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Public school students in ninth through twelfth grades attend Voorhees High School, which also serves students from Glen Gardner, Hampton, High Bridge, Lebanon Township and Tewksbury Township. As of the 2021–22 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 780 students and 76.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.2:1. The school is part of the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District, which also includes students from Bethlehem Township, Clinton Town, Clinton Township, Franklin Township, Lebanon Borough and Union Township who attend North Hunterdon High School in Annandale.

Lower Valley is an unincorporated community located along County Route 513 (High Bridge-Califon Road) in Califon Borough and Lebanon Township of Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It is at the western end of Long Valley, historically known as German Valley, the valley of the South Branch Raritan River south of Schooley's Mountain.

The J. K. Apgar Farmhouse is a historic stone house located at the intersection of County Route 512 (Academy Street) and Guinea Hollow Road in the borough of Califon in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1979, for its significance in architecture.

The Frog Hollow Road Bridge is a historic stone arch bridge that carries Frog Hollow Road over a minor tributary of the South Branch Raritan River in Tewksbury Township of Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. Built between 1860 and 1873, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 12, 2002, for its significance in engineering and transportation. It was listed as part of the Historic Bridges of Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey Multiple Property Submission (MPS). The bridge is a single-arch rubble stone bridge that carries a narrow rural road over Frog Hollow Brook, a minor tributary of the South Branch Raritan River. The brook joins the river at Califon. According to the nomination form, it is "characterized by extraordinarily rough construction".

Hoffmans, also known as Hoffman's Crossing, is an unincorporated community located along Hoffman's Crossing Road and the South Branch Raritan River within Lebanon Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Califon. The main road in the community is County Route 513 (High Bridge-Califon Road). The Hunterdon County Educational Services Commission (HCESC) has a campus here.

The Hoffman's Crossing Road Bridge is a Pratt thru truss bridge that carries Hoffman's Crossing Road across the South Branch Raritan River in the Hoffmans section of Lebanon Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It was built in 1898 by Tippett and Wood of Phillipsburg. The bridge is 103 feet (31 m) long and 16.2 feet (4.9 m) wide. It was added to the New Jersey Register of Historic Places on February 11, 1999.

The Columbia Trail is a rail trail in rural northwestern New Jersey. It was created from portions of the former Central Railroad of New Jersey High Bridge Branch and stretches from High Bridge, in Hunterdon County, through Washington Township, in Morris County for a total of 15.1 miles (24.3 km). The trail surface is relatively flat and consists mostly of fine crushed stone.

Cokesbury, historically known as Cokesburg, is an unincorporated community located on the border of Clinton and Tewksbury townships in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It was named after two Methodist bishops, Coke and Asbury. The Cokesbury Historic District was listed on the state and national registers of historic places in 1997.

Mountainville is an unincorporated community located within Tewksbury Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The Mountainville Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Skylands Region (simply known as Skylands) is a region of New Jersey located in the northern and central parts of the state. It is one of six tourism regions established by the New Jersey State Department of Tourism; the others are Gateway Region, Greater Atlantic City Region, the Southern Shore Region, the Delaware River Region, and the Shore Region.The Skylands Region officially encompasses Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Warren counties; the northwestern part of the Passaic County fits in with the Skylands Region, but it is part of the Gateway Region and not the Skylands Region. One could also say that the westernmost part of Bergen (in the Ramapo Mountains) is also part of the Skylands. The area features uplifted land, rolling hills and mountainous characteristics of North Jersey. The region contains 60,000 acres (240 km²) of state parkland and a diverse geography filled with lakes, rivers, and picturesque hills.

The Ken Lockwood Gorge Bridge is a steel plate girder bridge built for the High Bridge Branch of the Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) to cross the South Branch Raritan River in Ken Lockwood Gorge of Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It is now open for pedestrian traffic on the Columbia Trail, a rail trail that starts in High Bridge.
