The Centro Cultural Matucana 100 is a cultural center located in the commune of Estación Central in Santiago, Chile, near Quinta Normal Park. Matucana 100 is a not-for-profit corporation that hosts and plans cultural events and educational programs related to the contemporary arts including dance, theatre, music, photography, the visual arts and cinema. The center takes its name from its street address.

The San Juan de Dios Hospital is a public hospital located in Santiago, Chile. It is part of the public healthcare network in the western portion of Santiago Metropolitan Region, providing health services to residents of Santiago, Quinta Normal, Lo Prado, Renca, Cerro Navia and Pudahuel within the borders of the city. It also provide healthcare to patients from the Melipilla Province, including Melipilla, Alhué, Curacaví, María Pinto and San Pedro; as well as the Talagante Province, which includes the municipalities of Isla de Maipo, El Monte, Padre Hurtado, Peñaflor and Talagante. Established in 1552, it is the oldest hospital institution in Chile.The hospital complex consists of four buildings: the main tower, the Centro Diagnóstico y Terapéutico (CDT) Prof. Dr. Rodolfo Armas Cruz, the Ex Posta 3 and the Centro de Diabetes y Nutrición Helen Lee Lassen.

The Chilean International Exhibition was a world's fair held in Quinta Normal Park, Santiago, between 16 September 1875 and 16 January 1876 to show Chilean people recent technological and scientific advances.

The Chilean National Museum of Natural History (Spanish: Museo Nacional de Historia Natural or MNHN) is one of three national museums in Chile, along with the Museum of Fine Arts and the National History Museum. It is located in Quinta Normal Park.

Quinta Normal is an underground metro station on the Line 5 of the Santiago Metro. It is one of the largest metro stations in Santiago, Chile and provides access to Quinta Normal Park and Museum of Memory and Human Rights. Two glazed street-level entrances provide natural lighting for a portion of the station. The station was opened on 31 March 2004 as the western terminus of the extension of the line from Santa Ana. On 12 January 2010, the line was extended further to Pudahuel.

The Museum of Memory and Human Rights (in Spanish: Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos) is a Chilean museum located in Santiago, dedicated to commemorate the victims of human rights violations during the civic-military regime led by Augusto Pinochet between 1973 and 1990. It was inaugurated by former President Michelle Bachelet on January 11, 2010 as part of government's commemoration of the bicentennial of Chile.

Quinta Normal Park is an urban park in the city of Santiago, Chile. The park is in a commune, or district of the same name, Quinta Normal. The park is bounded by Matucana Avenue to the east, Portales Avenue to the south and Santo Domingo Street to the north. It is home to several museums, including the Chilean National Museum of Natural History. Near the park is the Museum of Memory and Human Rights. The park is also near a public library.The park can be accessed by the Santiago Metro via the metro station that bears its name. The park was founded in 1841 for greenhouses to cultivate foreign plant species. The park is 35.5 hectares (88 acres). The park is home to a railroad museum. The park is a place for children with a new water feature that children can play in and paddle boats. At the back of the park there are standing grills that anyone can use, to have a barbecue. In 1875 it was the site of the Chilean International Exhibition.Across the street from the north side of the park lies the Sanctuary of Lourdes, which includes a Lourdes grotto.

Estación Central (Spanish for "Central Station") is a station on the Santiago Metro in Santiago, Chile. It is underground, between the stations Universidad de Santiago and Unión Latinoamericana on the same line. It is located on the Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins, in the commune of Estación Central. The station was opened on 15 September 1975 as part of the inaugural section of the line between San Pablo and La Moneda. It is named for the nearby Santiago Estación Central.

Unión Latinoamericana, also known as ULA, is an underground metro station on the Line 1 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. It is close to Víctor Jara Stadium. The station was opened on 15 September 1975 as part of the inaugural section of the line between San Pablo and La Moneda.It has a single mezzanine, which is accessed by four entrances via two corridors. There are stairs at the four corners of the mezzanine, which are used as one-way walkways, although the stairs that go from the paid area of the mezzanine to the platforms can be used in a reverse direction for crossover between the platforms. At the top of the platforms exit stairs there are two rows of manual one-way swing gates.

The University of Santiago, Chile (Usach) (Spanish: Universidad de Santiago de Chile) is one of the oldest public universities in Chile. The institution was born as Escuela de Artes y Oficios (Spanish: School of Arts and Crafts) in 1849 by Ignacy Domeyko, under the government of Manuel Bulnes. It became Universidad Técnica del Estado (Spanish: Technical University of the State) in 1947, with various campuses throughout the country. In 1981, as a consequence of a reform on higher education under the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet, it became what is now known as Universidad de Santiago de Chile, with all activities centered in a single 340,000 m2 campus in the capital Santiago.

Alameda (unofficially Estación Central) is a major railway station in Santiago, Chile, serving the south of the country, and is the city's primary and railway station, and is the only major railway station in Santiago after the closure of Mapocho, which used to cater trains to northern Chile. It is on the Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins, facing Matucana avenue.
