Clay-Chalkville High School

Clay is a city in northeastern Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Birmingham–Hoover–Cullman Combined Statistical Area in the north-central part of the state. Local government is run by a mayor and city council. Before incorporation on June 6, 2000, it was a census-designated place (CDP). The population nearly doubled in the next decade, reaching 9,708 at the 2010 census, as it has attracted commuters to jobs in the urban areas. The oldest church in Jefferson County, Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church, is located in Clay. The congregation has been meeting continually since 1806, when it was established by early Scots-American settlers.On January 23, 2012, a total of 231 homes and businesses were either damaged or destroyed when an EF3 tornado passed through several subdivisions. Damage was heavy in downtown Center Point. Some of the homes were flattened. Trees were snapped and uprooted along the path and the Center Point Elementary School was damaged. A sixteen-year-old student from Jefferson County International Baccalaureate School died before reaching cover during the tornado.

Hewitt-Trussville High School (HTHS) is a four-year public high school in the city of Trussville, Alabama. It is the only high school in Trussville City Schools and is named for the early local educator Robert Hewitt. School colors are red and gray, and the athletic teams are called the Huskies. HTHS competes in Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 7A athletics.

Chalkville Campus was a correctional facility for girls of the Alabama Department of Youth Services, in the Chalkville area, in Jefferson County, Alabama. In 1909 the Protestant Women of Birmingham created a youth corrections program that became the Chalkville campus.By 2002 100 former students who attended in the period 1993 to 2001 accused the school of abuse, with forty of them joining a lawsuit in federal court. The State of Alabama settled the lawsuit for $12,500,000. Some persons lost their jobs.By 2012 enrollment was down to 18, and the department planned to retire the Chalkville campus and move the girls elsewhere. In January 2012 a tornado destroyed 11 of the buildings, though no injuries resulted. The facility abruptly closed as a result. The Mount Meigs Campus began housing delinquent girls.

Hewitt-Trussville Middle School (HTMS) is a public middle school serving grades 6-8 in the city of Trussville, Alabama. It is the only middle school in Trussville City Schools and is named for the early local educator Robert Hewitt. School colors are red and gray, and the athletic teams are called the Huskies. All students from Cahaba, Magnolia, and Paine Elementary Schools are zoned to attend HTMS upon entering the sixth grade. HTMS students feed into Hewitt-Trussville High School upon entering the ninth grade.

Chalkville is a former census-designated place in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 3,829. The area is now part of the city of Clay.

Palmerdale is an area in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. Most of the community falls within the city limits of Pinson. Palmerdale is located on Alabama State Route 75, 4 miles (6.4 km) north-northeast of the downtown area of Pinson. The community traces its history back to the Great Depression and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Resettlement Administration, part of the New Deal. Palmerdale Homestead was established to bring impoverished people out of urban areas, setting them up with small farms in nearby rural areas. Originally named Palmer Station for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad station that served the area, the name was changed to Palmerdale in the 1930s. Palmerdale became part of Pinson when the latter became incorporated in 2004. Palmerdale has a post office with ZIP code 35123.

Pinson Valley High School (PVHS) is a four-year public high school in the Birmingham, Alabama suburb of Pinson. It is the fifth largest of the Jefferson County Board of Education's fourteen high schools. School colors are garnet and gold, and the athletic teams are called the Indians. PVHS competes in AHSAA Class 6A athletics.

Pinson is a city in Jefferson County near Birmingham, Alabama, United States, northwest of Center Point. As of the 2010 census, the population was 7,163.

Argo is a town in Jefferson and St. Clair counties, Alabama, United States. It incorporated in 1987. At the 2020 census, the population was 4,368.

The Pinnacle, formerly known as Pinnacle at Tutwiler Farm, is a 75-acre (300,000 m2), 644,000 square feet (60,000 m2), $100 million lifestyle center located in Trussville, Alabama, which opened on October 11, 2006. The center was developed by Colonial Properties on land previously distinguished by a rocky hillside. Nearby is the Colonial Promenade at Tutwiler Farm, which was also developed by Colonial Properties. Anchor tenants include At Home, Belk and JCPenney (who relocated their existing stores from Century Plaza). Other tenants include Best Buy, Ann Taylor LOFT, Chico's, Buckle, American Eagle Outfitters, JoS. A. Bank, The Children's Place, Justice, Portrait Innovations, Learning Express, New Balance, Kay Jewelers, and New York & Company. Local retailers include A Rabbit's Tale, Bama Fever/Tiger Pride, and Accessory Heaven. Outparcel restaurants include Logan's Roadhouse, Cajun Steamer, and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers. A Circuit City once stood as an outparcel of the center, but it closed in 2008. The building was demolished and a new Olive Garden and Red Lobster were opened in mid-2011. Belk operates one store which is located in the former Parisian. The original Belk became At Home which opened June 21, 2017. A Courtyard by Marriott hotel is also in the complex. The mall was sold to Pinnacle Retail in 2021.

Center Point is a city and a former census-designated place (CDP) in northeastern Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Birmingham metropolitan area. At the 2020 census, the population was 16,406. However, after its incorporation in 2002, the city's boundaries are much smaller than those of the CDP. As of the 2010 census, the population of the incorporated city was 16,921. The public high school for Center Point is Center Point High School grades 9th-12th. The public middle school for Center Point is Erwin Middle School grades 6th-8th. Center Point has 2 public elementary schools, Erwin Intermediate School grades 3rd-5th and Center Point Elementary School grades K-2nd.
