Carnikava Municipality (Latvian: Carnikavas novads) is a former municipality in Vidzeme, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2006 by reorganization of Carnikava Parish of the Riga District, with the administrative centre being Carnikava. The population in 2009 was 6,261 people. The parish itself was created in 1992 after splitting from Ādaži Parish. After the municipal reform of 2009, the districts were abolished and the Municipality became a national administrative unit. On 1 July 2021, Carnikava Municipality ceased to exist and its territory was merged into Ādaži Municipality as Carnikava Parish.

Ādaži Airfield (Latvian: Ādažu lidlauks) (ICAO: EVAD) is an airfield in Latvia. It is situated near Eimuri, Ādaži Parish, 30 km (19 mi) north of Riga. The first private certified airfield in Latvia, which may receive up to 60 small private planes. The range of services includes training of ultra-light plane pilots, maintenance and repair works for planes, trade and rent of planes, as well as advertising flights.The airstrip was built in 1973 for the agricultural needs of Ādaži Kolkhoz.

Eimuri is a village in Carnikava Parish of Ādaži Municipality in Latvia. It is located in the south of the parish, 11 kilometers from the parish center in Carnikava, 10,6 km from the municipal center of Ādaži and 28 km from Rīga. Its population was 12 in 2022, a drop from 24 in 2015. Eimuri is adjacent to the village of the same name in neighboring Ādaži Parish.

The Gauja River (Estonian: Koiva jõgi, German: Livländische Aa) is a river in the Vidzeme region of Latvia. It is the only large river of Latvia that begins and ends its flow in Latvia. Its length is 460 km, of which 93.5 km (approximately one-fifth) are in Gauja National Park. In this part, the Gauja River flows through the Gauja Valley, which is between 1 and 2.5 km wide, and the maximum depth near Sigulda is 85 m. Thus, the Gauja is the longest river of Latvia if only the parts of the river in the country's territory are counted. The Daugava has only 367 km in Latvia, whereas the entire river is over 1000 km. The sandstone rocks on the banks of the Gauja and its adjoining rivers started forming 370 to 300 million years ago during the Devonian period.

Carnikava (Livonian: Sarnikau, German: Koivemund, Zarnikau), previously Sānkaule, is a village and the center of Carnikava Parish in Ādaži Municipality, Latvia. It's located 25 km north from Riga at the mouth of the Gauja River. Carnikava had 4689 residents as of January 2020, making it the largest village by population in Latvia (List of largest villages in Latvia).

Eimuri is a village in Ādaži Parish of Ādaži Municipality. The village is located at the western part of the parish, 6 kilometers from Ādaži. Its population in February 2022 was 40.During the Soviet occupation of Latvia, Eimuri was home to the Briljanti exemplary pig farm of the Ādaži Kolkhoz. Today, the area is used by the Dupleks-D ammunition factory and other businesses. Two craft breweries, Ārpus Brewing Co. and Labietis (Pagan Brews) are located in the village. The Ādaži Airfield is also located nearby. Eimuri is adjacent to the village of the same name in neighboring Carnikava Parish.
