Gage Park, Hamilton

Parkview Secondary School was located at 60 Balsam Avenue Hamilton, Ontario, and was a member of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. Parkview Secondary School had a 2009–2010 enrollment of 333. The school's mission statement was "Educating students to become lifelong learners and contributing citizens in a challenging, changing, multi-cultural world". Parkview Secondary School used the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) to assess Grade 10 students' skills in reading and writing. Successful completion of the test is one of 32 requirements students need to attain in order to receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The school offered special education classes and it has an ESL program. It had also run a credit granting Vocational Pathways Program that prepared student for the transition to the workplace. The school was closed at the end of June 2014, with all students relocating to Delta Secondary or Mountain Secondary, and as of late 2014, the school has been demolished to make room for parking for Hamilton's newly reconstructed football stadium.

Brian Timmis Stadium was a soccer stadium in Hamilton, Ontario. The stadium was built in 1968, and seated 5,000 people. [1] The stadium most recently hosted association football (soccer) teams Hamilton Croatia, a Canadian Soccer League club, and the Hamilton Avalanche, a club that played in the W-League of the United Soccer Leagues. It was located next to Ivor Wynne Stadium. Named after Brian Timmis, the stadium also previously hosted soccer teams the Hamilton Steelers and the Hamilton Thunder before the franchises folded. Prior to 1968 the site was home to Scott Park baseball field built in 1925. The grandstand was demolished and converted as soccer pitch. Today it is the public square for Tim Hortons Field.

Tim Hortons Field, nicknamed "The Donut Box", is a multi-purpose stadium in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Built as a replacement for Ivor Wynne Stadium, Tim Hortons Field is primarily used for Canadian football and soccer, and is the home of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League and Forge FC of the Canadian Premier League. During the 2015 Pan American Games, it was referred to as CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium. The stadium opened in September 2014, two months after its original anticipated completion date of June 30, 2014.

The Canadian Football Hall of Fame (CFHOF) is a not-for-profit corporation, located in Hamilton, Ontario, that celebrates great achievements in Canadian football. It is maintained by the Canadian Football League (CFL). It includes displays about the CFL, Canadian university football and Canadian junior football history.The Hall previously had a main feature in the central portion of the museum where inducted members, each with a metal bust depicting their head, were displayed prior to the physical building being closed. There were also featured displays that highlight each CFL team's history, and an interactive Field goal kicking exhibit. The CFHOF is currently changing to a de-centralized model, which does not included a main museum building (see "Today" below). Once during every CFL season, the Hall sponsors the induction ceremony of former players. Included in the "Hall of Fame Weekend" is a regular season game, usually (but not always) affiliated with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Traditionally, the inducted players will come to the Hall and make an acceptance speech in front of the building where their newly sculpted bust is unveiled. A player must be retired from the game for at least three years before being eligible for consideration. A Hall of Fame voting committee is composed of sports writers, selected CFL executives and inducted members.

Ivor Wynne Stadium (formerly Civic Stadium) was a Canadian football stadium located at the corner of Balsam and Beechwood avenues, two blocks west of Gage Avenue North in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The stadium was the home of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL from 1950 until it closed on October 27, 2012. The club's previous home was the Hamilton Amateur Athletic Association Grounds. The stadium was replaced by Tim Hortons Field, with a fixed capacity of 24,000, on the same property. From 1928, while the stands were still under construction, the civic stadium was mainly used for track & field by the Hamilton Olympic Club and men's soccer teams, while the Hamilton AAA was used more for football and cricket. The stadium had a cinder track where the Cap Cornelius Secondary School relays were held.

The school opened in 1967. 2013-2014 enrollment was 1050 students. Sherwood uses the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) to assess Grade 10 students' skills in reading and writing. Successful completion of the test is one of 32 requirements students require to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The school offers special education classes.

The Juravinski Hospital is a hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada operated by Hamilton Health Sciences. It is located adjacent to the Juravinski Cancer Centre. The hospital was ranked 2nd in Canada for research according to Research Infosource Inc. in 2014.Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre is a full-service general hospital offering cancer care, orthopedics and hepatobiliary surgery. The site's focus is cancer care services, with programs ranging from prevention, screening and diagnosis to treatment including chemotherapy and the region's only radiation treatment program. In addition, the Juravinski Hospital is the site of the Hamilton region's only hepatobiliary surgery center.

The Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC) is a comprehensive centre for cancer care and cancer research in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Operated by Hamilton Health Sciences, it is adjacent to the Juravinski Hospital, which provides emergency department facilities. The hospital was recently ranked 2nd in Canada for research according to Research Infosource Inc.Juravinski Hospital and Juravinski Cancer Centre compose a full-service general hospital offering cancer care and orthopedics. The combination of inpatient and outpatient programs supports one of the largest comprehensive cancer centres in Canada, including community-based oncology clinics in Brantford and Burlington. The site's programs range from prevention, screening, and diagnosis to treatment including chemotherapy and the region's only radiation therapy program. The latter makes JCC a tertiary care centre for Ontario. The hospital is a teaching hospital for the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University.

St. Peter's Hospital is a 250-bed chronic care hospital located in East Hamilton, Ontario specializing in the care of older adults. The hospital became a part of Hamilton Health Sciences in 2008.

Cotton Factory is an historic industrial complex formerly known as The Imperial Cotton Company Limited in the industrial north end of Hamilton, Canada. The complex has been renamed the Cotton Factory and is repurposed for small manufacturing and office space for creative professionals. The five buildings on the site were built in 1900 and stand today in their original structures. It is one of the few historic complexes built in the late 19th to early 20th century that remain today in Hamilton, Ontario.

The Centre on Barton is an outdoor shopping centre in the Lower City of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The centre is located on Barton Street East bounded by Ottawa Street North in the western-end and Kenilworth Avenue North on the eastern-end. It was formerly known as the Centre Mall and before that, the Greater Hamilton Shopping Centre. It was a "plaza" for many years before being closed in as a "mall" and access to the stores was available through a front and back door of the plaza. In 2008, the mall was rebuilt back to an outdoor shopping centre.

Cathedral High School is a Catholic secondary school located in Hamilton. It is a part of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board and is affiliated with the nearby cathedral Christ the King.
