Kommunarka (Moscow Metro)

Kommunarka is an urban-type settlement (posyolok) in Sosenskoye Settlement, Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug, Moscow, Russia. The Kommunarka (Sokolnicheskaya line) station opened in 2019.

The Kommunarka firing range (Russian: Расстрельный полигон «Коммунарка»), former dacha of secret police chief Genrikh Yagoda, was used as a burial ground from 1937 to 1941. Executions may have been carried out there by the NKVD during the Great Terror and until the war started; alternatively, bodies of those shot elsewhere might have been brought there for later interment. As the late Arseny Roginsky explained: "firing range" was a popular euphemism adopted to describe mysterious and closely-guarded plots of land that the NKVD began to set aside for mass burials on the eve of the Great Terror.

Kommunarka (Russian: Коммунарка) is a Moscow Metro station on the Sokolnicheskaya line. It was opened on 20 June 2019, along with Filatov Lug, Prokshino, and Olkhovaya. and became the southwestern terminus of the line, after Olkhovaya station. Kommunarka became the 232nd station of the Moscow Metro. It is in the Kommunarka area of Sosenskoye Settlement in the Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug southwest of Moscow. It has become the southern terminus of the line.

Prokshino is a Moscow Metro station on the Sokolnicheskaya line. It was opened on 20 June 2019, as part of an extension that included Kommunarka, Filatov Lug, and Olkhovaya.It is in the Kommunarka area of Sosenskoye Settlement in the Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug southwest of Moscow. It is an aboveground station along the Solntsevo-Butovo-Vidnoye Highway. The name Prokshino refers to a former village where the station is stand.

Novomoskovskaya (Russian: Новомосковская) is a station and the southern terminus of the Troitskaya line of the Moscow Metro. It was opened on 28 December 2024 as part of the three-station extension of the line, from Tyutchevskaya to Novomoskovskaya. It is the transfer station to Novomoskovskaya of the Sokolnicheskaya line. The adjacent station is Kommunarka.

Kornilovskaya (Russian: Корниловская) is a station on the Troitskaya line of the Moscow Metro which is was opened on 28 December 2024 as a part of the extension from Tyutchevskaya to Novomoskovskaya. It is located between Tyutchevskaya and Kommunarka. Before October 2021 it was known as Mamyri (Russian: Мамыри), after the village previously located here. The new name was given after Admiral Kornilov Street nearby.

Potapovo (Russian: Потапово) is a planned station on the Sokolnicheskaya line of the Moscow Metro, in the Sosenskoye Settlement of the Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug. The station is being constructed one stop past Kommunarka, the current southwestern terminus of the Sokolnicheskaya line. It is planned to be the new southwestern terminus of the line.Potapovo is designed as a heated ground station, and is scheduled to be the first such station in the Moscow Metro. Its design calls for double-glazed windows and extra insulation to help keep the station warm. The station is being built in the middle of the Solntsevo–Butovo–Varshavskoye Highway. Pedestrian overpasses are planned to allow passengers to exit the station on either side of the highway.Potapovo's design is said to look like a spaceship. The design of the station's platform and exterior incorporates plastic forms. A sculpture by artist Dashi Namdakov is planned to be featured in the station.The construction is being managed by Mosinzhproekt. The station first appeared in plans for the Moscow Metro in 2018. Initially scheduled to open in 2020, Potapovo is now scheduled to open in 2024. By the end of 2022, it was estimated to be about 60 percent complete. The station is one of twenty Moscow Metro stations planned to be opened in New Moscow by 2032.

Khovanskoye Cemetery (Russian: Хованское кладбище), also known as Nikolo-Khovanskoye Cemetery (Николо-Хованское кладбище), is a large and expanding cemetery servicing Moscow, Russia. It is located in the Leninsky District, Moscow Oblast, beyond the Moscow Ring Road, at the 21st kilometre mark of the Kiev Highway by the Mosrentgen and Nikolo-Khovanskoye settlements.Khovanskoye Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Europe, covering more than 1,970,000 m2 (21,200,000 sq ft) It is divided into three smaller parts: Khovanskoye Central Cemetery, which was established in 1972 and covers 877,200 m2 (9,442,000 sq ft), Khovanskoye Northern Cemetery, founded in 1978 and covering 600,000 m2 (6,500,000 sq ft), and Khovanskoye Western Cemetery, which was established in 1992 and covers 501,200 m2 (5,395,000 sq ft). A Russian Orthodox chapel, which has been visited by Patriarch Alexius II, is located on the cemetery's grounds. A crematorium was built in 1988 for those wishing to use this service. On 14 May 2016 three Tajik migrant workers died in the cemetery during a fight between hundreds of young mostly North Caucasus toughs and a group of mostly Tajik migrants who maintained the graves. According to Russian prosecutors this fight was the result of the efforts of former Moscow police officer Nikita Moshenko and Yury Chabuyev of the Moscow city-owned burial service Ritual to take control of the maintaining graves business (on the cemetery) worth 20 million rubles ($341,000) a month.

Tyutchevskaya (Russian: Тютчевская) is a station on the Troitskaya line of the Moscow Metro. It was opened on 7 September 2024 as part of the inaugural segment of the line, between Novatorskaya and Tyutchevskaya. The adjacent stations are Generala Tyuleneva and Kornilovskaya. Tyutchevskaya served as the southern terminus of the line until 28 December 2024, when the southern extension of Troitskaya Line to Novomoskovskaya was opened.

ANEO LETOVO School is a Russian boarding school located on the territory of New Moscow, in the settlement of Sosenskoye. The school was founded on September 15, 2015. LETOVO School runs general education programs of compulsory and secondary general education for students from Grades 7 to 11. Based on the results of international exams, about 40 % of 2021 graduates have been accepted to reputable international universities, including the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Stanford University, Carnegie Mellon University, Yale University, and others. In the academic year 2021/22, there will be about 600 students at the school. The teaching staff consists of 150 people.

The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (Russian: Служба внешней разведки Российской Федерации, tr. Sluzhba vneshney razvedki Rossiyskoy Federatsii, IPA: [ˈsluʐbə ˈvnʲɛʂnʲɪj rɐˈzvʲɛtkʲɪ]) or SVR RF (Russian: СВР РФ) is Russia's external intelligence agency, focusing mainly on civilian affairs. The SVR RF succeeded the First Chief Directorate (PGU) of the KGB in December 1991. The SVR has its headquarters in the Yasenevo District of Moscow. Unlike the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), the SVR is tasked with intelligence and espionage activities outside the Russian Federation. It works together with the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate (Russian: Главное разведывательное управление, tr. Glavnoye razvedyvatel'noye upravleniye, IPA: [ˈglavnəjə rɐzˈvʲɛdɨvətʲɪlʲnəjə ʊprɐˈvlʲenʲɪjə], GRU), its military-joint affairs espionage counterpart, which reportedly deployed six times as many spies in foreign countries as the SVR in 1997. The SVR is also authorized to negotiate anti-terrorist cooperation and intelligence-sharing arrangements with foreign intelligence agencies, and provides analysis and dissemination of intelligence to the Russian president.Any information pertaining to specific identities of staff employees (officers) of the SVR is legally classified as a state secret; since September 2018, the same applies to non-staff personnel, i.e. informers and recruited agents.

Yasenevo District (Russian: райо́н Я́сенево) is an administrative district (raion) of South-Western Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. The area of the district is 25.4 square kilometers (9.8 sq mi). Population: 172,300 (2017 est.).
