Korsør is a town on Zealand, Denmark. It is located in Slagelse Municipality. Until 2007 Korsør was the seat of Korsør Municipality. The town is located 15 km (9.3 mi) west of Slagelse, 12 km (7.5 mi) north-west of Skælskør and connects to Nyborg through the Great Belt Bridge. Formerly the main ferry port from Zealand to Funen, the town of Korsør is divided into two halves by the Korsør Nor inlet, with the northern part named Halsskov. Most of the historical southern part of Korsør (Korsør proper) is low-lying and prone to flooding.

Korsør railway station (Danish: Korsør Station or previously Korsør Banegård) is a railway station serving the town of Korsør in southwestern Zealand, Denmark. It is located in the northern part of the town, about 3 km (1.9 mi) north of the historic town centre. Korsør station is located on the main line Copenhagen–Fredericia railway from Copenhagen to Funen and Jutland. The station opened in 1856 as the western terminus of the Vestbanen railway line from Copenhagen to Korsør. The original station was located by the harbour from where there was connection via railway ferry across the Great Belt to Nyborg on the island of Funen. Korsør station was moved to its current location in 1997 with the openingen of the railway section of the Great Belt Bridge.The station offers direct InterCity services to Copenhagen, Funen and Jutland, regional rail services to Copenhagen and Odense operated by the national railway company DSB.

Until 1 January 2007 Korsør Municipality was a municipality (Danish: kommune) in the former West Zealand County, on the southwestern coast of the island of Zealand, in eastern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 74.25 km2, and had a total population of 20,873 (2006). Its last mayor was Flemming Erichsen, a member of the Social Democrats. Korsør Municipality bordered Skælskør Municipality to the south, Hashøj Municipality to the east and Slagelse Municipality to the north. It connected to Nyborg Municipality through the Great Belt ferries. To the west was the Great Belt (Storebælt), the strait that separates Zealand and the island of Funen peninsula. The municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen 2007 (the Municipality Reform of 2007). It was merged with Slagelse, Hashøj and Skælskør municipalities to form a new Slagelse municipality. The new municipality belongs to Region Zealand.

Svenstrup is a town on Zealand, Denmark. It is located in Slagelse Municipality, 3 km north-east of Korsør, 4 km north-east of Forlev-Vemmelev and 10 km south-west of Slagelse. The town has nearly grown together with the surrounding villages of Frølunde, Knivkær, Stibjerg Huse and Ny Halseby.

Espe is a manor house and estate in Denmark. It is located at Boeslunde, between Korsør and Skælskør, Slagelse Municipality, some 100 kilometres southwest of Copenhagen. Espe has been listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places since 1918. The main building dates to the 18th century but was adapted to the Late Neoclassical style in 1848. The manor and estate has been owned by members of the Moltke family since 1810.

Stillinge Strand is a village on Zealand, Denmark. It is located in Slagelse Municipality. The name of the village translates to 'Stillinge Beach', and a sizable beach of the same name borders the village.

Forlev-Vemmelev, also known under the individual names Forlev and Vemmelev, is a town in Zealand, Denmark. It is located in Slagelse Municipality. The two towns of Forlev and Vemmelev have grown together, with the merged town known under all three names. The Statistics Denmark refer to the town as Forlev while Slagelse Municipality refer to it as Vemmelev. Forlev-Vemmelev is located 5 km south-west of Slagelse and 8 km north-east of Korsør. The northern part of the town is Forlev and the southern part is Vemmelev. The E20 motorway cuts through the two parts of the town, with a bridge connecting them.

The Trelleborg (or Trælleborg), west of Slagelse on the Danish island of Zealand, is one of seven known Viking ring castles. When built, the fortress was situated on a peninsula that jutted into the swampy area between two rivers. The swamp was connected to the Great Belt by a lake and could be navigated by Viking ships. Trelleborg is believed to have been ordered by King Harald Bluetooth in the year 980 AD and it might have commanded the Great Belt and its sea traffic, between the islands of Zealand and Funen. Trelleborg is the best preserved of the Viking ring fortresses. Since 1995, the Trelleborg Museum has presented the story of this particular fortress and the nearby area. Some of the artifacts found in connection with the archaeological excavations are on display at the museum, while others are on display at the Nationalmuseet in Copenhagen.
