The Neoclassical building was constructed by Andreas Hallander as part of the rebuilding of the city following the Copenhagen Fire of 1795, incorporating elements from the previous building on the site. Læderstræde 5 is a Neoclassical property situated on Strædet, close to Højbro Plads, in the Old Town of Copenhagen, Denmark. A private synagogue was from 1800 to 1836 and again from 1845 to 1986 based on the first floor of the building. The second synagogue was opened by Moses Levy and was for many years the only alternative to the Great Synagogue in Krystalgade. In his will, Levy converted the building into a foundation under the name Moses Levt's Stiftelse og Synagoge. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1945. The publishing house Tiderne Skifter is now based on the first floor.

Kunstforeningen (English The Art Society), now officially called Gammel Strand after its address, is an exhibition space and non-profit membership organization located at Gammel Strand in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was founded in 1825 to promote and support art through public exhibitions, lectures, acquisitions of art works for distribution among the members, support of artists and publications on art.

Amagertorv 11/Læderstræde 11 is a Neoclassical property situated on the shopping street Strøget in central Copenhagen, Denmark. Constructed in 1798–1802 as part of the rebuilding of the city following the Copenhagen Fire of 1795, it owes its current appearance to two renovation undertaken in 1884 and 1903. The property was from around 1810 to 1845 owned by Gerson Melchior, owner of Moses & Søn G. Melchior. His sons Moses Melchior and Moritz G. Melchior, who would eventually continue the family firm, and Israel B. Melchior, an engineer and photographer, grew up in the building. In 1856, Melchior's heirs sold the property to wholesaler Sabinus Seidelin, whose trading firm S. Seidelin was subsequently operated from the rear wing. In 1903, S. Seidelin relocated to a new head office at Skindergade 7.

The Thorvaldsen Museum is a single-artist museum in Copenhagen, Denmark, dedicated to the art of Danish Neoclassical sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770–1844), who lived and worked in Rome for most of his life (1796–1838). The museum is located on the small island of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen next to Christiansborg Palace. Designed by Michael Gottlieb Bindesbøll, the building was constructed from 1838 to 1848 following a public collection of funds in 1837.
