Emmell's Septic Landfill (ESL) is located at 128 Zurich Ave, Galloway Township, New Jersey and takes up about 38 acres of space. The landfill was in operation from 1967 until 1979. ESL disposed of liquid and solid waste including many chemicals such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), Trichloroethene and Vinyl chloride which all had their own effect on the environment and community. These chemicals affected the groundwater required millions of dollars to reconstruct the groundwater pathways and provide clean water to residents. The landfill holds a Hazardous Ranking Score of a 50/100, qualifying for the Superfund National Priority List. In August 1999, the state acknowledged the site's contamination and held town meetings and provided research upon the site such as groundwater samples. In July 1997, a sitewide investigation was called upon by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. In total the clean up was estimated to cost $5 million to fund this superfund site, and a grant of $3.9 million was given by the Federal Government under the Recovery Act Funding (Previti). Today, the project is still ongoing however, greatly improved since the landfill was discovered.

Stockton University is a public university in Galloway Township, New Jersey. It is part of New Jersey's public system of higher education. It is named for Richard Stockton, one of the New Jersey signers of the Declaration of Independence. Founded in 1969, Stockton accepted its charter class in 1971. At its opening in 1971, classes were held at the Mayflower Hotel in Atlantic City; the campus in Galloway Township began operating late in 1971. Nearly 10,000 students are enrolled at Stockton and it is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus is a 323-bed hospital, opened in 1975, and located in the Pomona section of Galloway Township, New Jersey, United States. Situated on the Stockton University campus, the Mainland Campus experienced a 44% growth in admissions from 1986 to 1992. The Mainland Campus completed a $16 million modernization or renovation project in early 1992.

Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation is an inpatient and outpatient acute rehabilitation hospital with 50 beds located in the Pomona section of Galloway Township in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. The Bacharach Institute also includes a subacute rehabilitation center called Renaissance Pavilion with 29 beds. Bacharach treats patients after strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and other acute illnesses or traumas. In addition to the Bacharach Institute and Renaissance Pavilion in Pomona, the Bacharach Institute has fifteen physical and occupational therapy centers in Southern New Jersey.

The Galloway Township Public Schools are a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Galloway Township, in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising six schools, had an enrollment of 3,370 students and 300.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.2:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. Students in the western portion of the township have the option of attending Cedar Creek High School in neighboring Egg Harbor City under the school of choice program. Both high schools are part of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District, a regional public high school district serving students from the constituent districts of Egg Harbor City, Galloway Township, Hamilton Township and Mullica Township. The district also serves students from the districts of the City of Port Republic and Washington Township (in Burlington County) as part of sending/receiving relationships.

Cedar Creek High School is zoned to serve students from Egg Harbor City, Mullica Township, Port Republic and Washington Township, while students in portions of Galloway and Hamilton townships have the opportunity to attend Cedar Creek through the school of choice program or through attendance in magnet programs offered at Cedar Creek. As of the 2018–19 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 930 students and 73.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.7:1.

The Port Republic Historic District is a 100-acre (40 ha) historic district located in the city of Port Republic in Atlantic County, New Jersey. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 16, 1991, for its significance in architecture, engineering, industry, and maritime history. The district has 110 contributing buildings, including the individually listed Amanda Blake Store, and four other contributing sites.

The Amanda Blake Store is a historic building located at 104 Main Street in the city of Port Republic in Atlantic County, New Jersey. Built in 1884 as a general store, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 25, 1979, for its significance in commerce and social history. It is now a privately-owned house. The building was listed as a contributing property of the Port Republic Historic District in 1991.

Pomona is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Galloway Township, in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 7,124. The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP code 08240.Locally, the name "Pomona" is loosely used also to refer to areas adjacent to Pomona proper, including adjoining portions of Hamilton Township and Egg Harbor Township in the vicinity of the Atlantic City International Airport.Pomona was often described as the home to Stockton University, since the mailing address for the college was a post-office box located in the Pomona Post Office. In 2011, the university changed its mailing address to its main campus (using the street Vera King Farris Drive, Galloway Township, New Jersey).

Absegami High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades in Galloway Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States The student body comes from Galloway Township. The school is one of three secondary schools operating as part of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District, which also serves students from the constituent municipalities of Egg Harbor City, Hamilton Township and Mullica Township, together with students from Port Republic and Washington Township (in Burlington County) who attend as part of sending/receiving relationships.As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,132 students and 101.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.2:1. There were 464 students (41.0% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 113 (10.0% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Oakcrest High School and Cedar Creek High School are Absegami's sister schools. Absegami and Oakcrest shared the same buildings during the period from the creation of Absegami High School in 1972 to the construction of a separate campus for Absegami in 1982. In a referendum held on September 25, 2007, voters approved by a 3,176 – 1,719 margin a plan to construct a third high school in the district, to be located in Egg Harbor City, which would help alleviate overcrowding in the two existing schools and serve students from Egg Harbor City and Mullica Township. Construction started in Fall 2008 and was completed in Summer 2010 at a total project cost of $80 million (of which $59.9 million was related to construction costs), with the new facility opening that September.The school has a variety of programs designed for a diverse student body, including 'special needs', a "High School-to-Work" program, college preparatory, Advanced Placement (AP), and performing arts. The school offers 13 courses through which students earn college credits by taking AP examinations, and 89% of students planned to go on to college.
