Cratloe

Kilfintinan (Irish: Cill Fhiontanáin) is a civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It is part of the Catholic parish of Cratloe.

Cratloe GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Cratloe, County Clare, Ireland. The club deals with both Gaelic football and hurling and basketball. The club competes in Clare GAA competitions. In November 2013, Cratloe won their first ever Clare Senior Football Championship title, defeating Doonbeg by 0-10 to 0-7. They reached the 2013 Munster Senior Club Football Championship final on 1 December, but were defeated 0-13 to 0-12 by Dr Crokes.In 2014, Cratloe won the Clare Senior Hurling championship on 5th October and the Clare Senior Football Championship seven days later. This was the first time that a Clare club had lifted both senior club trophies on the field of play since Ennis Dalcassians completed 'The Double' in 1929.

The Church of St. John, is the Roman Catholic parish church of Cratloe, in County Clare, Ireland. It was originally built in 1791 by Fr. James Ward, the parish priest at that time. Two transepts having been added to the original chancel and nave in 1806, by Fr. Jeremiah Cronin. The doorway to the right transept is a medieval doorway, believed to have come from one of the earlier churches of Kilfintenan or Craughaun in the parish. It is one of only three remaining 'barn' churches in Ireland built during penal times, a time when Roman Catholics were not allowed practice their religion. In 1828 Daniel O'Connell, an MP for County Clare who would later go on to be known as The Liberator, made a speech outside the church about the Catholic Emancipation Act, arguing that Catholic Members of Parliament should be allowed take their seat once elected, which was forbidden at that time. The quaint country church is popular for weddings, and a number of celebrity weddings have been held here, including that of Sharon Corr, of the musical group The Corrs.

Cratloe-Sixmilebridge is a parish in County Clare and part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Limerick.Current (2021) parish priest is Richard Keane.The original name of the parish was Kilfintinan. The main church of the parish is the Church of St. John in Cratloe, with 1798 mentioned as the start date of the actual building. In later times it was several times enlarged. The church survived a proposal in the late eighties to demolish the church and build a new one. Due to a vocal group of parishioners being against the plan, the barn church was renovated instead. The second church of the parish is the "Little Church" in Sixmilebridge. This church was built in 1858 as replacement for an thatched church out of 1799. The church has never had an official patron saint. It is likely that the name of the church is derived from a simple comparison with the bigger Church of St. Finaghta on the other side of the town that belongs to the parish of Sixmilebridge in the Diocese of Killaloe.

Cratloe Woods is a forested area around the village of Cratloe in County Clare, Ireland. Much of the original oak forest has been replaced with coniferous softwoods during the past century; however, small pockets of native oak survive. The largest such pocket is the Garranon (or Garranone) Wood, which is visible on the hillside just north of the N18 road from Limerick to Shannon.

Sixmilebridge railway station is a railway station that serves the village of Sixmilebridge in County Clare, Ireland. It is located on the Shannon Road less than 1 km from the village. All Limerick-Ennis and Limerick-Galway trains stop here.

Ivarstown (Irish: Baile an hÍomhar) is a small village in County Clare, Munster in Ireland. The village covered a total area of 13 acres (53,000 m2) and was located within the parish of Kilfinaghta, in the baronry of Lower Bunratty. It takes its name from the Ievers family and is located on the opposite bank of the O'Garney river from the village of Sixmilebridge.

Sixmilebridge (Irish: Droichead Abhann Ó gCearnaigh, meaning 'bridge of the river of O'Kearney'), best known as The Bridge, is a large village in County Clare, Ireland. Located midway between Ennis and Limerick city, the village is a short distance away from the main N18 road. Sixmilebridge partly serves as a dormitory village for workers in the Limerick city, Ennis and Shannon region, with a number of modern housing developments having been built to accommodate demand.

Mount Ievers Court is an early Georgian house and estate near Sixmilebridge in County Clare, Ireland. The house was completed in 1737 for Henry Ievers to a design by local architect John Rothery and, after his death in 1736, was finished by his son Isaac Rothery.As of 2023, the house is still owned by members of the Ievers family.

Kilfinaghta (Irish: Cill Fhionnachta) is a civil parish of County Clare, Ireland, located to the east of Sixmilebridge and northeast of Shannon.

O'Garney Park (Irish: Páirc Uí gCearnaigh) is a GAA stadium in Sixmilebridge, County Clare, Ireland. It is the home of Sixmilebridge GAA club and is one of the main grounds of Clare GAA's Gaelic football and hurling teams.It can hold about 7,000 spectators, including an 800-seater stand. It first saw inter-county use in the 1994–95 National Hurling League. Today, it sees inter-county hurling in the Munster Senior Hurling League.
