Innisfil is a town in Ontario, Canada, located on the western shore of Lake Simcoe in Simcoe County, immediately south of Barrie and 80 kilometres (50 mi) north of Toronto. It has historically been a rural area, but since it is geographically sandwiched between the high-growth areas of Barrie and the York Region, there has been growing residential development in Innisfil.

Innisfil GO Station is a planned GO Transit train station to be built by Metrolinx on the Barrie line in Innisfil, Ontario as part of its GO Expansion program. A parking lot, a bus loop and a park and ride area will be provided. In 2016, Metrolinx rated the station location highly for affordability of construction but low for ridership, which is expected to be 2,800 per day in 2031. In 2020, the cost to build the station was estimated to be CA$29 million. The town of Innisfil wanted construction to begin in 2022 and the station open by September 2022. However, in May 2022 construction of the station was delayed to 2023.A station in Innisfil had first been proposed in a 2010 GO Transit system electrification study. In 2015, Metrolinx proposed it again as part of a larger list of potential future station sites, and it was ultimately included in the list of stations to be built within the RER program. In 2016, there were 2 potential sites for a station in Innisfil: 5th Line and 6th Line. The location of the station had been controversial among residents and developers in the area. Innisfil Town Council supported the 6th line location and it was ultimately chosen by Metrolinx.In November 2019, Cortel Group committed to funding the full cost of the station and the Innisfil Town Council approved 'The Oribit', a long-term development vision around the station with the goal of 30,000 people living in the area in the near future. Initially, the long-term goal after the development's completion was for 150,000 residents, though this has since been reduced to 90,000 residents and 20,000 jobs. In 2020, a minister's zoning order (MZO) was issued by the provincial government to expedite the residential development project.

Nantyr Shores Secondary School is a public secondary school (grades 9–12) located in the community of Alcona in the Town of Innisfil, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Simcoe County District School Board and has an enrollment of about 1250 students. The principal of the school is Brian MacIsaac. The superintendent of the school is Lisa Coffey. (Area 3b schools- South Barrie & Innisfil).

Barrie South GO Station is a train and bus station on the GO Transit Barrie line, located in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Barrie Transit buses provide public transit access to the rest of the city. As of January 2012, the station is used by about 700 passengers per day, up from 350 at the time of its opening.

Georgian Downs is a casino and horse racing track in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada. The racetrack hosts standardbred races from June to August. The racetrack has an on-site casino called Gateway Casinos Innisfil, which contains close to 1000 slot machines, numerous e-tables and 26 live table games. The Town of Innisfil has received $97,475,109 from the casino since its opening in 2001.

York—Simcoe is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1968 to 1979, from 1988 to 1997 and since 2004. It covers part of the region north of Toronto by Lake Simcoe. It has existed on three occasions. Its first incarnation was created in 1966 from parts of Dufferin—Simcoe and York North. It existed until 1976 when it was split between York North, Simcoe South, and York—Peel. It was reformed in 1987 from parts of Simcoe South, York—Peel, Victoria—Haliburton, and Wellington—Dufferin—Simcoe. It was again broken up in 1996 with a split between Barrie—Simcoe, Simcoe—Grey, and York North. Its current incarnation came into being in 2003 made up of parts of Simcoe—Grey, York North, and Barrie—Simcoe—Bradford. Its previous Member of Parliament was Peter Van Loan, the former Government House Leader. A by-election took place on February 25, 2019.

Barrie—Innisfil is a provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The riding was created in 2015 from portions of Barrie and York—Simcoe ridings, and it is congruent with the new federal riding of the same name.

CKMB-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 107.5 FM in Barrie, Ontario. The station airs music in the hot adult contemporary format. The station was launched in 2001 by Central Ontario Broadcasting (Rock 95 Broadcasting (Barrie-Orillia) Ltd.), the owners of CFJB. It was launched as Star 107.5.CKMB's call letters were taken from station owner Doug Bingley's desire to name the station after his children, Michael, Matthew and Megan Bingley. He had originally wanted to use the call letters for CFJB when that station was launched in 1988, although the call sign was not available at that time. On August 20, 2004, the CRTC approved Rock 95's application to change CKMB's frequency to 107.7 MHz and to change the authorized contours by relocating the transmitter. The change to 107.7 MHz was never implemented. In December 2005, CKMB rebranded from Star 107.5 to 107.5 Kool FM and began more current/recurrent airplay over classic airplay.
