Tyrone is a community in Ontario, Canada, incorporated in the municipality of Clarington. It was named after County Tyrone in Ireland. Tyrone is located about 12 km north of the town of Bowmanville.

Mitchell Corners is a community in Ontario, Canada. It is located within the municipality of Clarington, directly north of Courtice, at the intersection of Trulls Road and Taunton Rd. It was named after the early settlers to the area. It is often called "Mitchell's Corners", though the locals prefer the original name "Mitchell Corners" as it appears on the signs entering the hamlet. The telephone prefixes are part of Oshawa's telephone directory.

Clarington Central Secondary School (also known as CCSS) is a public secondary school located in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, within the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. The school includes Grades 7-12. Clarington Central Secondary School opened in September 2005 to students and was later officially opened by Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board officials and the former Mayor of Clarington John Mutton in November 2005. CCSS is well-known for its Arts programming, and in particular its vibrant musical theatre program. Many students from this program have gone on to successful careers in theatre, film, and television. The school was the stage of LaMira Rose Theatre Collective’s original show Concealer in August, 2019. The founder of the collective is Mars Russell, a member of CCSS alumni.

Courtice () is a community in Ontario, Canada, about 60 km (37 mi) east of Toronto, within the Municipality of Clarington. Adjacent to Oshawa, it is west of Bowmanville, which is also part of Clarington. Courtice Road (Durham Road 34) connects with Highway 401 at Interchange 425, providing arterial access to the community. Darlington Provincial Park is located just south of Courtice.

The conservation area borders a large section of the Soper Creek, and contains 354 acres of deciduous forests as well as coniferous forests and swamps. Clarington (2021 population 101,427) is a lower-tier municipality in the Regional Municipality of Durham in Ontario, Canada. It was incorporated in 1973 as the town of Newcastle with the merging of the town of Bowmanville, the Village of Newcastle and the townships of Clarke and Darlington, and was established on January 1 1974. In 1993, the town was renamed Clarington, a portmanteau of the names of the two former townships. Darlington today is largely suburban, while Clarke remains largely rural. Bowmanville is the largest community in the municipality and is the home of the municipal offices. Clarington is part of the Oshawa census metropolitan area in the eastern end of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Major employers in Clarington include the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, General Motors Canada, and several medium to large-sized manufacturing businesses. Most residents commute for work in Durham Region or Toronto.

Bowmanville GO Station is a planned GO Transit train station to be built by Metrolinx in the community of Bowmanville, Ontario. It will be the terminus station of GO Transit's approved expansion of train service on the Lakeshore East line and will become a transit hub for Durham Region Transit and GO Transit. According to a 2011 environmental impact assessment, the station would have about 770 parking spaces, a bus loop and a kiss and ride area on the south side of the station. The station will be located on the south side of CP Rail's Belleville Subdivision and, as a terminal, it will have two stub tracks.

Clarington Municipal Council is the governing body of the municipality of Clarington, Ontario since 1993. There are 7 members on council, including the Mayor and local councillors. The current municipal body was established in 1974 when the Village of Newcastle merged with the town of Bowmanville and the townships of Clarke and Darlington, to form the town of Newcastle. In 1993, the municipality was renamed Clarington. In 1982, terms went from 2, to 3 years in length. Beginning in 2006, terms went from 3 years, to the current 4. Council meetings are open for the general public to attend.

Bowmanville is a town of approximately 40,000 people located in the Municipality of Clarington, Durham Region, Ontario, Canada. It is approximately 75 km (47 mi) east of Toronto, and 15 km (9.3 mi) east of Oshawa along Highway 2. Bowmanville was first incorporated as a town in 1858, but later incorporated with the neighbouring townships of Clarke and Darlington in 1974 forming the Town of Newcastle, which was renamed in 1994 to the Municipality of Clarington. Bowmanville is part of the Greater Toronto Area.
