Miraj Islamic School is an Islamic school in Tompkinsville, Staten Island, New York City. An Islamic school and center, it serves its students from pre-k through 12th grade. The school was established in 1996. It graduated its first class in 2011. The graduating class had 14 students.

Ward Hill is a hill and eponymous neighborhood located in the northeastern part of Staten Island, New York City. Ward Hill is the northernmost of a chain of hills that stretch approximately halfway across Staten Island, which at one point (on Todt Hill, toward the southern end of the chain) rises to 410 feet (125 m), the highest elevation found that close to the seabord south of Maine in the eastern United States. Named for Caleb T. Ward, who purchased property at the top of the hill in 1826, Ward Hill has long been home to the island's local political elite. His mansion, the Caleb T. Ward Mansion (Seth Geer, c. 1835) at 141 Nixon Avenue, is a New York City landmark and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.Part of Ward Hill's western slope consists of a sharp cliff overlooking Victory Boulevard in Tompkinsville.

Assumption – St. Paul is a Roman Catholic parish in New Brighton, Staten Island, New York, United States. The parish was formed by the merger in 2007 of Church of the Assumption and St. Paul's Church.

Stapleton Heights (or Stapleton Hill) is a neighborhood in northeastern Staten Island, New York City. It stands on the second of a series of hills that form a "backbone" running diagonally across the island from northeast to southwest, between Ward Hill (the first of the hills as they rise from Tompkinsville) and Grymes Hill; to the east is Stapleton, which is along the waterfront. It is an upper-middle-class enclave noted for its large older one-family homes, and for its view of Upper New York Bay and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Many of the grander homes of the neighborhood were constructed in the late 19th century by the families who controlled the industries along the waterfront, including the breweries that operated there until the last one closed in 1963. One such home, on Louis Street, is allegedly "haunted," according to local residents. Stapleton Heights is served by the S52 and S78 local buses.

Ganas is an intentional community founded in 1979 in Tompkinsville, Staten Island. Ganas has non-egalitarian, tiered membership groups, and is thus a partial member at the Federation of Egalitarian Communities. The community uses a group problem-solving process called "Feedback Learning", which was begun by co-founder Mildred Gordon. The community attracted press attention after a 2006 shooting incident which led to lurid tabloid headlines. The community was founded by a group of six people, and has grown to consist of 10–12 core group members plus 60 to 70 members of varying involvement. There are three businesses run by Ganas, including a bookstore-cafe.

Caleb T. Ward Mansion is a historic home located at 141 Nixon Avenue on Ward Hill, Staten Island, New York. Caleb Tompkins Ward built the mansion in 1835 with the help of architect George B. David, who built the mansion out of stucco and brick in an imposing Greek Revival style. Ward acquired the land for his mansion in 1826, after his uncle died. His uncle was Daniel D. Tompkins, Governor of New York. The mansion commands magnificent views of New York Harbor and the metropolitan area. It has a two-story tetra style portico and iconic columns. A large rectangular cupola tops the building and an estate of 250 acres originally surrounded the manor. Today, Ward Mansion is one of the last great houses remaining from a time when the North shore of Staten Island was a fashionable resort for wealthy New Yorkers.On July 26, 1982, the mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places, after having become a New York City Landmark in 1978.

Tompkins Circle is a .131-acre green public space within a traffic circle in the Grymes Hill neighborhood of Staten Island, New York. The circle is located in a section of the neighborhood historically known as Pavilion Hill. At this traffic circle, the Tompkins Circle loop merges with Fiedler Avenue and Ward Avenue.Tompkins Circle is named in honor of prominent Staten Island resident Daniel D. Tompkins (1774-1825), who owned property in this neighborhood. A more recent resident of Ward Hill was Joe Marotta (1942-2008), a civic activist who served on several community planning boards and operated a pharmacy in Tompkinsville. Following his death in November 2008, a bench was dedicated at this park in his memory.

Casa Belvedere is a cultural center devoted to Italian studies, located at 79 Howard Avenue, Grymes Hill, Staten Island, New York City. The mansion was constructed in 1908, and is an Italian Renaissance style building with Arts and Crafts detailing. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, stuccoed masonry structure with a 2+1⁄2-story service wing and attached conservatory. It features an overhanging clay tile hipped roof with bracketed eaves and a portico with Ionic order columns and Doric order corner piers. Also on the property is a contributing former garage.: 5, 9 Over the years it housed a number of different families, including for several years being the official residence of the President of Wagner College. It was declared a New York City Landmark in 2006 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010 as the Louis A. and Laura Stirn House. In 2008 it was purchased by Gina Biancardi and Luciano Rammaironi, and turned into a cultural center. In this role it hosts Italian language classes for both adults and children, wine tastings, lectures, films, cooking lessons, book signings, displays of Italian-made motor vehicles (e.g. Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, and Vespa), and art exhibits, all with an Italian orientation.: 16 

Notre Dame Academy is an American private Catholic girls' school in Staten Island, New York. It is located within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. As a private school, Notre Dame is not owned by the archdiocese, although it does maintain a close affiliation with the archdiocese. The school is located on a 13-acre (5.3 ha) campus on Grymes Hill in Staten Island, New York. Consisting of an elementary school (PK3 – 8) and high school (9–12), the school serves approximately 700 students.While providing an education in the Catholic tradition, the school is open to girls of all faiths.

St. Paul's Memorial Church is an Anglo-Catholic Episcopal parish in New York City, New York located at 225 St. Paul's Avenue in the Stapleton area of Staten Island. The historic church was built in 1866 of rough-faced, irregularly cut blocks of Staten Island trap rock with brownstone trim. It has buttressed side walls, a steeply pitched roof, and angled buttresses at the corners. The front side features a central rose window. An auxiliary chapel was added in 1889. The rectory is also built of trap rock with brownstone trim.It was added as "St. Paul's Memorial Church and Rectory" to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The houses at 364 and 390 Van Duzer Street are two historic homes located in the Stapleton neighborhood of Staten Island in New York City, located about a block apart from one another. 364 Van Duzer Street is a 2+1⁄2-story, clapboard-covered frame house with a gable roof. It features a tetrastyle portico with 2-story, Doric order columns rising to an overhanging spring-eave, unusual on a Greek Revival house and more characteristic of Dutch Colonial architecture. This hybrid style is indigenous to Staten Island. The house was built in 1835 by Robert M. Hazard, captain of the Nautilus, a ferryboat owned by Daniel Tompkins, as well as postmaster of Tompkinsville. 390 Van Duzer Street is a 2+1⁄2-story, clapboard-covered house with an original 1+1⁄2-story kitchen wing. It also features a tetrastyle portico, but with 2-story Corinthian order columns.Both buildings reflect Greek Revival style architecture of the 1830s.Both buildings were designated as New York City Landmarks in 1973. The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
