La Carolina is a Quito Metro station. It was officially opened on 21 December 2022 as part of the inaugural section of the system between Quitumbe and El Labrador. The revenue service started on 2 May 2023 and discontinued on 11 May 2003. The station is located between Iñaquito and Pradera.This is an underground station.The station is located at the intersection of Avenida Eloy Alfaro and Avenida de La República, in the southern part of La Carolina Park and next to the financial center of Quito. It has four exits.The tunnel construction reached La Carolina on 21 August 2017. On 23 January 2023, the first train with 600 passengers to whom invitations were extended, arrived to the station.

Parque La Carolina is a 165.5-acre (670,000 m2) park in the centre of the Quito central business district, bordered by the avenues Río Amazonas, de los Shyris, Naciones Unidas, Eloy Alfaro, and de la República. Iñaquito metro station is in the northern part of the park, whereas La Carolina metro station is in the southern part.

The estimated daily number of passengers would be 39 thousands. The station has access for disabled passengers. It also has escalators.The station is located at the intersection of Avenida Naciones Unidas and Calle Japón, in the northern part of La Carolina Park. The construction was completed on 31 March 2021, after which the process of transfer of the station to the city was started, and the process was completed on 2 May 2021. On 23 January 2023, the first train with 600 passengers to whom invitations were extended, arrived to the station.

St. Gabriel College (Spanish: Colegio San Gabriel) is a private Catholic primary and secondary school, located in Quito, Ecuador. The school was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1862, and has grown to include pre-primary as well as six primary and six secondary years.

On 5 April 2024, the Mexican embassy in Quito was raided by Ecuadorian police and military forces. Mexico and numerous other countries decried the raid as a violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the 1954 Caracas Convention on Diplomatic Asylum. The raid was carried out to arrest the former vice president of Ecuador, Jorge Glas, who had been sentenced for corruption and had been living in the embassy since 17 December 2023. A few hours before the attack, he had been granted political asylum. The assault led to Mexico severing its relations with Ecuador. The following day, Nicaragua followed suit in solidarity with Mexico. Venezuela closed its Ecuadorian embassy and consulates due to the raid, condemning Ecuador's actions.

Lycée franco-équatorien La Condamine is a French international school in Quito, Ecuador. It has programmes from the primary level until the terminale, the final year of lycée (senior high school or lyceum). It is part of the network of the Agency for French Education Abroad.

The painter Oswaldo Guayasamín's La Capilla del Hombre ("The Chapel of Man") occupies a site in Bellavista overlooking the city of Quito, Ecuador. The Capilla is a purpose-built art museum dedicated to the peoples of Latin America. Construction of Guayasamín's masterpiece began in 1995 and unfortunately was not completed until 2002, after his death.Although this chapel contains fewer pieces of Guayasamín's art than the nearby foundation and museum, the building provides an atmosphere specific to his artwork to view his paintings. The Capilla del Hombre exhibits Guayasamín's work as a history of human suffering and violence in Latin America and the world. It includes sculptures and murals and integrates the surroundings into an artistic interpretation of the subject. The building was co-designed by Oswaldo Guayasamín and Handel Guayasamín.

The Church and Monastery of Our Lady of Guápulo was the first Marian shrine in what is now the Republic of Ecuador, founded in 1620 in Guápulo, a beautiful corner located northeast of the city of Quito, the capital of the country, located at 2,690 meters above sea level. Friar Juan de Dios Navas affirmed that this Shrine is one of the best relics inherited from the Colony. The image of the Virgin of Guápulo was the model used for the sculpture of Our Lady of El Cisne and also that of El Quinche. To get to the Guápulo Church, you must travel along the paved road known as the "Path of the Conquerors" (Camino de los Conquistadores), which was used by Francisco de Orellana in 1542 as a route that led him to discover the Amazon River.

On 9 August 2023, eleven days before the 2023 Ecuadorian general election, presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio was assassinated after leaving a campaign rally in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. One assailant was killed during the attack. Several bystanders, including security personnel and a legislative candidate, were injured.

Guápulo is a district of Quito, Ecuador, also called an electoral parish (parroquia electoral urbana). The parish was established as a result of the October 2004 political elections when the city was divided into 19 urban electoral parishes. Set behind Hotel Quito, the neighborhood of Guápulo runs down the winding Camino de Orellana, from González Suárez to Calle de los Conquistadores, the main road out of Quito and to the neighboring suburbs. Often considered an artsy, bohemian neighborhood of Quito, Guápulo is home to many local artists and a couple of hippy cafés/bars. Every year on September 7 the guapuleños honor their neighborhood with the Fiestas de Guápulo, a fantastic celebration complete with costumes, parade, food, drink, song, dance, and fireworks. Guápulo Park is a 19.5 hectares, 48 acre public park. The park is administered by the Public Sector under the Parks and Public Spaces Urban Spaces that is under the National Plan for Good Living as to the creation of green spaces for cultural practices, recreational and sports activities. Originally Guápulo was founded as an independent city by the Spaniards. It is told that on December 30, 1696, the miracle of Our Lady of the Cloud took place on the way between Quito and Guápulo. On Thursday, March 19, 2009, CNN reported that a small Beechcraft military plane had crashed into a section of the district, killing the three occupants of the plane and three on the ground in a building.
