The James T. Vaughn Correctional Center (JTVCC), formerly the Delaware Correctional Center (DCC), is a state prison for men in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware, USA, near Smyrna. It is the Delaware Department of Correction's largest correctional facility.JTVCC houses some 2,500 minimum, medium, and maximum security inmates. It is also the primary facility for housing the Kent County pre-trial (detainee) population. Before the abolition of capital punishment in Delaware, the state's death row for men was located here. The death row for women was located in the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution. Executions occurred at JTVCC.The facility is named for former Delaware State Senator James T. Vaughn, who died in 2007.

Clearfield Farm is a historic home located near Smyrna, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built about 1755, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, four bay brick dwelling with a gable roof. It is one room deep and has gable end chimneys and dormers. It was the home of John Clark (1761–1821), 20th Governor of Delaware. At one time it housed administrative offices for the Department of Corrections.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Duck Creek Village, also known as Salisbury, is a national historic district located at Smyrna, Kent County, Delaware. It encompasses three contributing buildings that are the remnants of a mid-18th century community. They are the two-story, five-bay, brick former miller's house known as "The Lindens;" a one-story, plank house with a steep gable roof; and a former grist mill measuring 80 feet by 100 feet. In 1998 and 1999, the Duck Creek Historical Society disassembled and moved the plank house to the rear yard of the Smyrna Museum Complex. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Cummins, Sr. House, Governor William Temple Mansion, Daniel Cummins' Tavern and House, "Greybox," Delaware House, Jones' Drug Store, Smyrna/Clayton Masonic Building, the Peterson Building, Tilghman Building (c. 1840), Abraham Pierce Store (c. 1810), the "Colonial Hotel," Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Citizen's Hose Company No. 1, Benjamin Benson House (1834), Asbury Methodist Church (1845, 1872), Ebenezer Cloak Mansion, and Mt. Olive Holiness Pentecostal (1876).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

It has an unusual, off-set double-pile, "house-on-house" plan. It has a cross-gable roof with a distinctive cornice and a wraparound porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The building marks the location of what may have been a grain shipping center for southern New Castle County.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The listing included two contributing buildings on 10 acres (4.0 ha).Baynard House has also been named Fox Hall.The cupola-topped Bannister Hall building "may have been the first pre-fabricated house erected in Delaware" although in appearance it is "typical of Delaware country mansions of the Victorian period."
