Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium

Riverfront Stadium is a light rail station in the Washington Park section of Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The station is a single low-level platform for trains used by the Newark Light Rail branch to Newark Broad Street station. Riverfront Stadium station is a northbound-only stop, located across Broad Street from the terminus. The station opened on July 17, 2006 when an extension from Newark Penn Station opened to Broad Street station. Riverfront Stadium station attained its name from the Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium, an independent baseball league ballpark. The station was located next to the entrance to Gate C, however, the stadium closed in 2013 and the city razed the stadium in 2019.

The station is located in Downtown Newark, next to Atlantic Street, between the headquarters of IDT Corporation and its parking garage. It serves the business district near Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium. The Washington Park Post office is also located near this station. The station is above ground, as is most of the second Newark Light Rail line, except for a two-track tunnel having a portal to the south of Center Street that connects the line to the original NCS line at Newark Penn Station. This station receives only northbound trains, which leave Newark Penn Station, make one stop at NJPAC/Center Street, enter the northbound line here at Atlantic Street, and continue on to Riverfront Stadium (service on game days only) and Newark Broad Street station. Service on this line opened on July 17, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

North Reformed Church is a historic church at 510 Broad Street in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The congregation was founded in 1856 and the church building was constructed in 1857. Its spire reaches 165 ft (50 m)The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Its presence in Downtown Newark was noted for its influence on house music and garage house genres and scene. It is located in Downtown Newark, New Jersey, on the southbound side of Broad Street between Bridge and Lombardy Streets adjacent to the park that lends its name to the station. It is directly across from the headquarters of IDT Corporation and 1 Washington Park and during the afternoon rush hour carries many outgoing commuters from these buildings to Newark Penn Station. Two key attractions near this station are the Newark Museum and Newark Public Library. The station is also located near the James Street Commons Historic neighborhood, Rutgers Business School and the Polhemus house. The station is above ground, as is most of the second NLR line, except for a two-track tunnel having a portal to the south of Center Street that connects the line to the original NCS line at Newark Penn Station. This station receives only southbound trains, which leave Newark Broad Street station and continue on to NJPAC/Center Street and Newark Penn Station. Service on this line opened on July 17, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. EDT.The station also features two installations of public art by Willie Cole, a native Newarker and African American conceptual and visual artist.

The American Insurance Company Building is one of the oldest and tallest skyscrapers in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. Located at 15 Washington Street on Washington Park it was once headquarters for the American Insurance Company and is now part of Rutgers University. The neo-classical tower is a contributing property to the James Street Commons Historic District which also encompasses Washington Park, Newark Museum, and Newark Public Library. It re-opened in November 2015 as student dorms, event space, and chancellor's apartment.

Bridge Street Bridge is a swing bridge over the Passaic River connecting Newark and Harrison, New Jersey. It is the 10th bridge from the river's mouth at Newark Bay and is 5.7 miles (9.2 km) upstream from it. Carrying vehicular traffic, the roadway is designated County Route 508. The span is a rim-bearing Pratt thru truss swing span supported on ashlar substructure with concrete caps originally built by the American Bridge Company. It opened in 1913 and underwent significant rehabilitation in 1981. It is listed on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places (ID#3093) The bridge was re-lamped in 2012. The bridge's electric motor was damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, requiring replacement.Like the other vehicular swing bridges in Newark, the Jackson Street Bridge and the Clay Street Bridge, it crosses over the tidal navigable portion of the river. and is required to open with 4-hour notice. The swing bridges of Newark are expected to open as much as 10 times a day during a massive clean-up of the Passaic starting in 2019 to allow barges to move contaminated sludge dredged from the river bottom raising concerns about their reliability. As of 2016 studies were underway to study its replacement.

Indian and the Puritan is a 1916 marble and bronze monument by Gutzon Borglum, the sculptor of Mount Rushmore, opposite 5 Washington Street, the Newark Public Library, in Washington Park of Newark in Essex County, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 28, 1994, as part of the Public Sculpture in Newark, New Jersey Multiple Property Submission.

Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) is the public administration school of Rutgers University, and is located on the Rutgers-Newark campus. Rutgers SPAA offers bachelor's, Master of Public Administration (MPA), and Ph.D. degrees as well as graduate and non-credit certificates focused on particular issues of public and nonprofit management and policy implementation. The State of New Jersey's Certified Public Manager program is housed at SPAA.

Shadow of a Face is a monument to abolitionist Harriet Tubman in Newark, New Jersey's Harriet Tubman Square designed by architect and artist Nina Cooke John. It was unveiled on March 9, 2023. It is one of several monuments in the park, and replaced a monument to Christopher Columbus in the same location which was removed in 2020 by the city to prevent its toppling in a Black Lives Matter protest.
