Bryn Athyn station

Fetter's Mill, also known as Louis Ewald Studio—Residence, is a historic grist mill located on Pennypack Creek at Bryn Athyn in Lower Moreland Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1740, and is a five level, stucco over stone building of post and beam construction. It has an end gabled roof. It was enlarged about 1860, and in 1920 was converted to a residence and studio for decorative artist Louis Ewald. Adjacent to the mill is the contributing tail race.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. It is located in the Fetter's Mill Village Historic District.

Fetter's Mill Village Historic District is a national historic district located in Bryn Athyn and Lower Moreland Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It encompasses five contributing buildings and three contributing structures. They are a wagon shed / John Conner studio (1751), Alnwick Grove Train Station (c. 1870), Bryn Athyn Train Station / Post Office (1902), farmhouse (c. 1790), stone barn, two iron bridges (1883, 1916-1917), and a milk platform (c. 1900). Located in the district is the separately listed Fetter's Mill, built about 1740.The area inspired parishioners of The New Church in Philadelphia to migrate to the countryside in order establish and practice as a religious community. They began coming to the area for church excursions or picnics to Alnwick Grove, a park served by the Alnwick Grove Station (Now a private residence, on the Lower Moreland side of the train tracks). After visiting the area, wealthy church member, John Pitcairn, Jr bought the first plots of land, then known as Knights Farm. This area is now the site of Bryn Athyn Cathedral, Cairnwood, Cairncrest, and Glencairn (the latter three all Pitcairn family estates). It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The General Church of the New Jerusalem (also referred to as the General Church or just simply the New Church) is an international church based in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, and based on the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the theological works of Emanuel Swedenborg (often called the Writings for the New Church or just the Writings). The General Church of the New Jerusalem distinguishes itself from other Swedenborgian churches by teaching that the Writings for the New Church are the Heavenly Doctrine revealed by the Lord in His Second Coming and have authority equal to the Old and New Testaments. It is larger, newer, and more conservative than the Swedenborgian Church of North America.

Bryn Athyn Cathedral is the episcopal seat of The General Church of the New Jerusalem, a denomination of Swedenborgianism. The main building is of the Early Gothic style, while the adjoining structures are of a transitional period reflective of a combination of both Gothic and Norman styles. The exterior appearance of the Cathedral itself is reminiscent of Gloucester Cathedral in England. The Cathedral is located in Bryn Athyn, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, just outside the city of Philadelphia. Bryn Athyn is also the site of the General Church affiliated Academy of the New Church, which publishes Swedenborgian literature, and is the parent organization of a high school, a four-year college (Bryn Athyn College of the New Church), a theological school, and the Emanuel Swedenborg Library.

The Bryn Athyn Historic District is a National Historic Landmark District encompassing an important collection of Arts and Crafts movement architecture in Bryn Athyn, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Designated in 2008, it includes three residential properties associated with the Pitcairn family who supported the movement, as well as Bryn Athyn Cathedral, all built by craftsmen employed by the Pitcairns.The district properties are located in the center of Bryn Athyn, on the west side of Huntington Pike (Pennsylvania Route 232), and is roughly bisected by Cathedral Road. On its north side stand Cairnwood and the Glencairn Museum, both built as homes of the Pitcairns, and on its south are the Bryn Athyn Cathedral, the mother church of the General Church of the New Jerusalem, and Cairncrest, another Pitcairn home that now houses church offices.

Lady Washington Inn is a historic inn and tavern building located at Huntingdon Valley, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was built in three sections in 1761, about 1788–1785, and about 1850–1875. It is a 2 1/2-story, stuccoed stone and frame building with a gable roof and frame rear addition.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Glencairn is a castle-like mansion in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, that was home to the Pitcairn family for more than 40 years. Now the Glencairn Museum, it contains a collection of about 8,000 artworks, mostly religious in nature, from cultures such as ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, the Roman Empire and medieval Europe, as well as Islamic, Asian, and Native American works. The museum is affiliated with The New Church, and the building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Huntingdon Valley station is a former SEPTA Regional Rail station in Lower Moreland Township, Pennsylvania. It was located on Terwood Road near Old Welsh Road (PA 63) and served the Fox Chase/Newtown Line. SEPTA closed the station in 1983, and the shelter was subsequently demolished.

Bryn Athyn is an affluent home rule municipality in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was formerly a borough, and its official name remains "Borough of Bryn Athyn". The population was 1,375 at the 2010 census. It was formed for religious reasons from Moreland Township on February 8, 1916. Bryn Athyn is surrounded by Lower Moreland Township."Bryn Athyn" was intended to mean "Hill of Unity" by its founders. "Bryn" is Welsh for "hill"; the source of "athyn" is unclear.

Bryn Athyn College is a private Christian liberal arts college in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania. It is affiliated with the General Church of the New Jerusalem.

Cairnwood is a 26,000 square feet (2,400 m2) historic home located adjacent to the Glencairn Museum in Bryn Athyn, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was designed by the architectural firm of Carrère and Hastings and built in 1895. The surrounding grounds were designed by Olmsted, Olmsted and Eliot. It was built for John Pitcairn, Jr. (1841–1916), President of Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company. It is a 2½-story, Roman brick and limestone French country estate home in the Beaux Arts style. The L-plan house has 28 rooms, plus a chapel in the third story turret. Also on the property are a contributing stable and garden house built contemporary to the main house, and garage complex (1911). A contributing structure is the estate wall. The property is now owned by the Academy of the New Church and serves as a special events facility, specifically hosting weddings, corporate functions, fundraising and social events of all kinds.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. It is a contributing property to the Bryn Athyn Historic District.

Bethayres station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Bethayres, Pennsylvania. It is located at Station Avenue and Old Welsh Road and serves the West Trenton Line to Ewing, New Jersey. Bethayres station was originally built in 1876 by the Reading Railroad. The station has off-street parking and a ticket office. There is also a handicapped-accessible platform. In FY 2013, Bethyares station had a weekday average of 578 boardings and 553 alightings. Bethayres is the last boarding stop for AM peak service express trains to Philadelphia and the first discharge stop for PM peak service express trains from Philadelphia.
